Literally just saw that Ludacris commercial for the first time tonight after watching this video. He's doing a local show here in St Pete this weekend at our St Pete pier concert series which is basically on par with a county fair level show. From that to headlining EF. I'd love to know how that came about
Damn… people not knowing pretty lights makes me feel so old. I’m not even in “the scene” as much these days so it’s weird to hear people so immersed in it all not know who pretty lights is or how legendary he is. I had a chance to see him in 2014 but it was my first festival and I didn’t know any better so I missed it.
I knew of him and a ton of my friends in college would go see him, but I wasn't immersed in the scene enough at the time to fully understand him yet! Hopefully I get a chance to see him soon.
Pretty Lights is extremely special to my fiance He used to Headline events in Tennessee with Skrillex and **ssnectar. My fiance was front row at more than one “BASSLIGHTS” event. It was a coheadliner situation between PL and someone you could guess- BUT my point is it was shut down early because local residents were calling in Earthquakes because the bass was so insane and they didn’t know what was going on. Pretty Lights is an OG and I can’t wait for my first experience with him. Hes much better vibes than someone who may have had a residency at Forest for 10 years
Not sure Knock2 should be categorized as trap/dnb. Definitely more bass house as the majority of his tracks has a house groove/tempo but yes, his niche/fan base would definitely bleed into trap I can see that.
Thank you Emma for guiding us through a lot of these acts! I am very excited for the Psyren act. I have seen CloZee twice this year and her audio visual experience is magic, and I am so excited for what she will create with LSDREAM. I heard the debut of this project is at Electric Forest so that will make it even more a must watch! I also initially felt the line up was “empty” but then I remembered some of my favorite festival experiences were when I knew very few acts and just went with the flow And now after you gone through all of the acts so far that initial feeling is gone and I am very excited to explore many of them further! 🤩
This is the most basic take ever and frankly totally defeats the point of forest. Explore, find new things, discover. Also half of your evaluations are just kinda wrong.
Charlotte de Witte is by far the artist that surprised me the most and made me the most excited. I missed her at Movement earlier this year and am super excited to catch her act in the Forest. Some of her sets have been much more melodic techno lately and have been absolutely banging.
