I love how he is surprised by his own times... Many elite swimmers seem to know what they will go based upon practice times. He is a different breed. 🙂
Léon has become our new national treasure here in France and a huge star in the blink of an eye. On top of that, he's a lovely young man, quite reserved and well bred. He brought the nation so much joy and pride. Merci Léon...💪❤ 🟦⬜🟥
It’s funny, Marchand is basically Phelps to Popovoci’s Thorpe (events not age) and Summer is Phelps to Ledecky’s Thorpe. They’re all taking the sport to a new level.
Numbers don't lie : US women will still do ok at the World and Olympics (though the Aussies and Canadians will give them a hard time) but the men will struggle. Just look at the NCAA 100 fly for example : 7 out of the 8 finalists were foreigners (including the top 5) ! And Marchand wasn't even in the race. And remember the best Freestyle swimmer in the world isn't even here. By the end of the Paris Olympics, Popovici could own the WRs in the 50, 100, 200 and 400m (if he decides to swim it). And don't forget the Brit's Armada either, with a least 7 men who will contend for Gold or Silver... Fortunately, Ryan Murphy and Bobby Finke are still top dogs. And regarding Caleb, who knows ....
popovici wont have the 50, and the US will still dominate in the relays as other countries have very fast swimmers, but no where near as many of them. they all come from different nationalities
@@reillyeaganexactly. Plus there’s a reason they come to the US to train, cuz we’re fricken’ badass at swimming and have amazing coaches like bob bowman. How much has Leon shot up underneath bob 😂 don’t you worry about our men’s side, we’ll take care of that 😎
He seems like a good kid and a clearly great athlete. I'll try to follow his career.

Yeah Americans look pretty vulnerable without Phelps, Dressel, or prime Lochte
Popovici won't ever have the 50free wr
