Just maybe a helpful tip,I have been told many years ago by some old farmers not to broadcast fertilizer to put it in the row don't fertilize the weeds just the crop..I had a Oliver 77 row crop but iI moved and my wife at the time said we moved to far away and I didn't need it , ok she thought it was to old and I now don't have a place to keep it so I gave it to my best friend and he will take care of it.
@rogermiller7411 yes we will. It will be October 19th. If you can make it there will be a food truck drinks and desserts. And I have 4 4digit tractors with plows you can try out and have some fun with as well.
I use a John Deere 1240 with the same marker system, every spring I clean the marker control with Carb cleaner to makr sure its super clean then put a little wd40 on it, works fantastic.
Mine works well on level ground. On side hills it doesn’t want to switch markers when I start a new round. I’ll try your cleaning method. Thanks for the tip.
@@rogermiller7411 I'm 60 y/o and this system of cleaning the marker changer works well for me even on hillsides. After the planter sits for a few days because of rain, I'll (high pressure air) clean the mechanism and put a little WD-40 on the pivot points. Been working great for years so far.
Enjoy your video's...brings back memories helping my Uncle farm in Indiana....What crops do you grow other than corn and soybeans? Do you use any commercial fertilizers? Great looking soil and crops. I just subscribed...really like your channel and style of farming...keep the videos coming. thanks. Kevin
Love it , brings back great memories. We still have a 694AN jd planter hasn't been used for sometime .

Spent all of my childhood on a oliver and just love the sounds the of the tractor. Ground looks amazing hope you have a great year Roger.
Thanks for your kind words. Olivers were my favorite tractors to operate as a kid.
Do you expect to have a plow day this year?
