Hi Matt love the shelf youse made, I’m currently planning a shelf design for my aquariums but about half the size (also with little experience in building them) and wondering what type of wood the planks and panels were, sorry if youse already said it but I couldn’t find anything in previous videos, thanks a lot.
I know they used MDF particle bord for the planks, and just some 2x4 for the planks to sit on. Just some basic pine 2x4 would suffice 😊 hope this helps!

I just love you guys! I don't keep fish but used too. I found MD first and through him fish shop Matt. Both are very entertaining any relatable. Not sure why, I live in Austin Texas. I've tried to watch other fish tank scaping video channels and just dont get the same vib. Keep doing what your doing ,it definitely does for me!

I have been a fan of the channel for a fair while now and i remember back ages ago i commented on one video about how much I enjoyed it when you two were together. Now that you are together all the time and are doing fish racks as well as scaping etc this channel is clearly now the best channel on youtube ;-)
So much information from one channel, you guys have inspired me to dig out my old tank from the garage, after a 35 year gap of keeping tropical fish. I currently keep Koi in a 36,000 litre pond, well more like a swimming pool 😁,so keeping tropical fish will make a nice change, the wife is really looking forward to it. Your channel is one of the best "Get my hyped to do something new" channels there is. I always love catching up on what's been happening before I understand some new idea, whether big or small. One thing I'm going to start doing is stocking some plant growing boxes. I have a well-planted rainbowfish (best fish!) tank, and the plants have gone nuts. I loathe throwing clippings away so yeah, just grabbed myself some plastic storage boxes and cheap LED lights to throw on top and here we go!
I am loving the fish wall guys! Actually thinking about doing a smaller version myself since you all have gotten me pulled into the planted tank and fish keeping hobby.

They are such derpy frogs 😂, I have one (had 2, but unfortunately 98% of my tank died in flat fire and I’ve been able to rescue just one) and they sing in the evenings. Unfortunately people like to tell others what doesn't work or what you shouldn't do in every hobby. I promise a planted tank with Mbuna is possible because I've done it. It's more work and yes the occasional plant was dug up but I had it running for about a year.
Fun to see the fish room develop. You should definitely do a snakehead tank! They're illegal in America, so that might be worth mentioning, but it'll be cool to see something that people won't normally see.

The Blue "Lobster" (yabby in Australia) has the Latin name of 'cherax destructor' for a good reason. It will eat anything like Matt said. It will rearrange it's tank to suit it's needs. Requires a cave of some sort - I often found mine sitting in the top of the hob filter. Very capable climbers so well fitting lids are a must.
Love that Kate is in the video although she doesn't want to be in the videos!😂 Fish w/the kind faces, wouldn't love the stick bugs. Always so bright outside when you exit a fish shop!😂
I’ve seen someone keep about a dozen male Bettas in with the same # of females and assorted other dither fish in the same tank. Apparently as long as the tank is a decent size with visual barriers (wood, plants, rocks, etc) the Bettas display a bit but keeping them together isn’t a problem.
I will miss the trips to Maidenhead Aquatics. But the channel must evolve. Nevertheless i hope we will still make a trip or two to the Matt's fish store every now and again.
Would love to know more about the problems you had with your goldfish please as I was seriously thinking of setting up a tank? Would be great to learn more about their health and care needs.

After a long period of watching that channel, now i got wood and build my aquarium base cabinet by my self. Got the wood today. Lets see how it go.

I've bred dwarf frogs, but I never managed to get tham past the early tadpole stage. A setup for them would be SO neat ❤
Why not extend the tubes out on the spongefilter so the 90 is halfway out of the water. It will help with the bubbling noise and splattering of water.
