Me watching this episode on my display in my kitchen. My younger daughter walks in and asks "is that Ed Sheeran". Something that can't be unseen lol. Appreciate your content.
We sailed out of port Everglades in mid December. We found the process very smooth from start to finish. We arrived at our PAT and got checked in and through security right away. We then sat in the terminal maybe 20 minutes. When we got called we walked into the ship with no wait whatsoever. We have sailed out from all over the world and found this as the smoothest boarding ever. Don’t let the media cruise with a group of people trying to document every inch of the place turn you away from this wonderful port.
If you missed your appointment time and all you had to wait was a half hour, I would consider that a blessing. My wife and I will arrive in Port Everglades tomorrow for our Disney Cruise. We will spend the night at a Hotel and have Disney pick us up in the morning. Our appointment time is when we get there. Did that on our last cruise and it worked slick. Well worth the extra 45 bucks.
Cruised out of port Everglades in late November and we arrived slightly early and had zero problems I think we were on the ship in about 20 minutes from parking.
Elaine and Jackie. Elaine helps my daughter book her cruises. And now she’s assisting her with a universal june 2024 trip. They really do save you money.
My family is about to do a DCL cruise soon and we are excited to check out the Port Everglades terminal. The earliest port arrival time I could get was 1pm (I logged on right at 12 midnight EST on the first available check in day, but first had to secure meet and greet reservations for both the Royal Gathering and Marvel characters) then did the entire check in process (which was super smooth), but by then all the earlier times were already gone. However, I was just so happy to get everything all done. We will see how to the whole embarking process goes, but like Jackie said, it won’t matter once we walk through that Mickey Ear Tunnel to board.
I am really hopeful that the Treasure or the next ship yet to be named will be out of Port Everglades. I feel like when we sail out of Canaveral, I need to do something land and sea such as WDW, Sea World, or Universal just because I feel like we are so close that I need to. If we sail out of Everglades, A-the cheap airline travels there, there are tons of hotels that shuttle to and feom the airport and have shuttles to and from the cruise, some are even walking distance. So Everglades would honestly save me money on transportation and pre-post cruise time. We would probably break even though, bc I expect to sail 5-7 nights from Everglades.
When we sailed on the Wish in May 2023, we checked-in prior to security at Port Canaveral. When I first sailed out of Port Canaveral years ago, we went through security first and then checked-in inside the terminal upstairs. Not sure what the current procedure is.
All about itinerary and price for me, I guess. Sailing out of Fort Lauderdale for the first time in April (have been out of Vancouver, Port Canaveral, and Miami previously). Needed a weekend 3-night to celebrate my daughter’s birthday and didn’t want to pay Wish prices. Living near a Southwest hub airport helps with prices and routes into FLL.
My daughter just cruised out of lauderdale. Was very easy. Just a longer drive from myrtle beach. Last Jan they did canaveral. Both boardings were very easy.
Pott Canavetal would be my port of choice, but the price difference of the sailing from Fort Lauderdale to San Juan was considerably less so I booked that one.
We sailed out of Everglades in late November was terrible. Hard to understand why it didn’t run just as canaveral……it was a terrible experience. Then we sailed in mid January and by then they were 80% better.
I was unimpressed with Port Everglades. Standing in the parking lot in groups waiting to approach the actual building. Loud and no direction or signage to advise as to where to go - just people barking orders in a loud environment. Once in the building it was a bit better. Only at that point did your Castaway level matter as to when you move forward. Needs improvement. I cannot imagine special needs cruisers challenges with curbs, etc and wheelchairs. My cruise was end of January to early February so nothing has changed as of that time compared to your experience described.
I’ve never been on a cruise but do I always watch this series? Yup. I entered the contest for my shot, but maybe someday I can use all of my knowledge from your shows. 🤣
I have sailed multiple times out of Port Canaveral and once out of Ft Lauderdale and could not disagree more with Elaine. No question Port Canaveral is far superior. For one, the actual port Canaveral is separated from the town, easy to get to. Fort Lauderdale is in the middle of everything with tons of traffic from everything else going on. Fort Lauderdale routinely puts out traffic alerts days in advance. And like Craig, the parking garage was a mess with that coral in the ground floor of a dark dank garage. It was chaos. And they were not friendly at all, into the cage you go! This was early, not late. Maybe the overall time would be similar once in the garage, but I know which Port is more magical. Hint, not Fort Lauderdale.
Moral of the story do not arrive to the port the day of if your driving from anywhere that’s not local… I don’t understand why ppl don’t understand this fundamental idea. Especially with kids, it’s going to stress you out and set you off on the wrong foot. Ppl going on Disney cruises have plenty of money to spend 100-200 bucks on a hotel.
About to sail out of Port Everglades for the first time as a Platinum Castaway Club member. Is there not a quick check in line? Just wondering after watching
They have recently added lines for Castaway Club tiers :) not sure I would choose to come to this port again, I like Port Canaveral a little better it just seems much easier.

So true, good call. 😂. Big hair change, not sure if it’s a wig.
I wear hats 90 percent of the time especially when my hair gets this long.
I can’t unsee it now after reading your comment! 😂 Craig, do you often get mistaken in public for Ed Sheeran?
Awesome shirt Craig!! Thanks for all the info!
Great to see Jackie.

Really enjoy Jackie and Elaine and hearing their inputs. Great job Craig and love the hair, looking good.

For concierge guests at Fort Lauderdale, do you still have to follow a specific assigned boarding time? Or just go through anytime?

Port Canaveral has check in before security as well. It’s not just a Ft. Lauderdale thing
Thank you for letting me know I can fly into Miami airport instead of Fort Lauderdale for my cruise. Flying into Fort Lauderdale cost more than Miami.
Great video. We haven't been to Port Everglades yet, but hope to next year.

my thing is i will never sail on a first month sailing on a new ship or first month of a new port..just me

The only one we saw was for concierge.

Helpful info. My family is planning a DCL cruise in 2025.
love the video, but the background noise makes this unbearable. hope you can fix this for future.
Jackie ❤
Why is vlog posted under Dis Unlimited instead of DCL? 🤔🤔
We are no longer using the DCL Fan channel or any sub channels so that way all of our content is in one place.
Nice Pie-Eyed Party shirt! #RSVLTS
Thank you!
100% do a cruise out of port Everglades using train. I want to see how it goes
