Fun fact: this technique was thought of over 30 years ago by a guide on lake Winnipeg, guy by the name of Roger Stern was the first to throw a rattl'n rap down an ice hole for walleyes. It was In-Fisherman that saw this technique and really popularized it.

I honestly thought of this myself a couple years back without any outside influence. It's funny when you think you did something new but in fact it's been done before. Only difference is now days I have more reach than the classic films do

I started using these a couple years ago, I actually had to upgrade my hooks on them because on my lake I am picking up catfish and walleyes that easily bend/break off the little hooks. The best part is these baits almost "fish" themselves, a lot of the time I don't have to be too aggressive in jigging them. I just dangle them over the fish, give it a subtle shake of the rod. When a fish comes up, I keep reeling up until the fish grabs it. They work great in the summer too!
