My trick with meal prep is generally my breakfast is something i can quickly knock out fresh like eggs. And the meals I do a full prep with are generally very saucy or stew. Freeze well and usually anything with a sauce reheats and gets better. Chili and curry are top of my list
Ive basically been near bed ridden for the past 8 months from surgeries but now I'm 100% I just ordered the cookbook and dumbbell workout today to get back on track 😎👍
God bless you for getting through it! Believe in you getting back on track! I currently am dealing with 2x disc bulges and an annular fissure injury. Haven't lifted since May 2022. Wishing to get back some day too, and have this chronic constant daily pain to be gone!
@@hudsonproyou should consider having your cook book made into ready meals for people to order. You would make a killing. I prefer choosing middle ground: at the end of the week (sunday generally) I decide which recipes/food I am going to eat for each day for the next week, go to the grocery store and buy everything I need according to that plan. This way I don't have the stress to decide what to eat, but at the same time I eat warm food and different stuff everyday (aside from breakfast which is usually always the same).
You might want to precook your starches though (rice, potatoes, sweet potatoes etc). When you cook a starch then cool it in the fridge or freezer it turns the starch into resistant starch which is healthy and beneficial for your gut microbiome.

We appreciate the many food prep videos as y'all have done over the years. This is something I still struggle with myself, and use it to justify not keeping a workout schedule, and/or eating poorly. Y'alls most recent video about eating fast food everyday for a week, and breaking down the costs as well has really kicked me in the pants. I just ordered your cookbook, and I'm probably going to make a playlist of meal prep videos. I've gotta stop being so lazy. It's too expensive, and unhealthy. Thanks Buff Fam. Stay Buff! Yeah!
Another great video dudes. Thanks for being my inspiration. I particularly loved this because I’ve been hardcore meal prepping for the past month - with the help of your cookbook! Also great job Mikayla - particularly loved the “snack slap”
Ive been doing this for 3 years for my family of 5. We cook 50 - 60 meals every week. I Love it man, make smacro adjustments really easy. It's a lifestyle change just like anything else. But like anything else, through time and consistency it will become easier. Love you Guys!
I have been doing meal prep for every single meal for 5 years now. The cravings are insane, but it has been the only way that I have been able to lose weight. You looked a lot leaner after the 30 days.
I haven't watched buff dudes in a while. I was really fit back when I graduated HS. Since covid I fell off the wagon, well now I'm back into the full swing of things, I appreciate seeing that the dudes are still making amazing content! 🤙
Absolutely love you and your brother’s videos. It has truly hit home with me and I have found y’all to be near perfect for my goals and meal preps and really enjoy all of the content. I’m looking to purchase a buff dudes cook book and guess I’ll need to check out your website to do so because I don’t think there was a link to it in the video. But thanks for the vids! Happy subscriber!
1:09 You know, when I started watching Buff Dudes, the lads were immense to me. Now Brandon, the larger brother, while looking big and great, doesn't look insurmountable to me. I definitely need to make more gains, especially in the upper arms, forearms, delts, and pecs (I suppose his back is super duper thick too), but I think I could achieve this at 213 lbs myself one day. Edit: However, they eat so little! I'm cutting on 2500 calories atm and I'm only a bit over 3 years into my lifting. They eat 2700-2800 and are apparently perfectly content. That's why they're so lean.
😃This vid was CRAZY informative, creative, entertaining, funny, & motivational! Thank you for putting this together, simplifying food prep, simplifying macros, eating the prepped food in a day, & the benefits of sticking to it. Keep gettin’ after it. ☮️
There’s pros and cons to this as I experience weekly Pro: I can make about 3-5 days of food on one single Sunday, my food is ready to go and I don’t have to worry about making it the night before Con: the food doesn’t last long in the fridge and can become hard or dried out within a few days, I have to improvise if I run out of food on day 4 and 5, food can become boring What I would say is it’s probably best to meal prep twice a week, one on Sunday and One on Wednesday or Thursday for the remainder of the week, you can make extravagant recipes on sundays since that’s when you prob have the most time, and the second meal prep can be something quick and easy since that is most likely a work night for most people, cooking up some beef and rice, with some veggies is probably the fastest option. Making a burger bowl is simple and quick, and is super convenient
I struggled until recently with living alone and not cooking Thanksgiving dinner every single night after work and hardly ever having leftovers. Somehow it clicked recently and although I’ve heard the advice before it didn’t work until recently. That advice is this, when I make a meal I put all the ingredients into Loseit! Calorie tracking app and make it a recipe. Once it is a recipe I can select how many servings it is. I check how many calories each serving is and find that sweet spot. For me this is roughly 800 calorie portions. I then before eating split them into individual containers with their appropriate weight with a scale and done. Eat my supper. Then when I eat another portion another day I just go into Loseit! Look at my recipes and select that meal prep for that meal. For me having meals at 800 ish calories leaves me room to add sides or dessert if I’m feeling more hungry or wanting something sweet.
A good addition to your regular meal prep is to prep some meals so you can quickly and easily cook them instead of pre cooking every meal. Also, it is nice to at least change up your dinner every day of the week. That can help greatly with the bordem of always having the same thing. Changing up your snacks can also be an easy way to get verity in your diet.
thanks guys! i just made some good gains in optimizing my protein intake and focusing on staying consistent to hit that amount that i need. Food prep in your approach definitely sounds like a valid next step! \m/
9:25 yeah, that's the problem with weekly food prep... you'll be eating reheated food, it doesn't taste fresh. what i do now is daily food prep, meaning i cook once in the morning every day for the entire day. i'd prepare the ingredients the night before including if i need to steam something then i'd do so using a multipurpose rice cooker. the food is still fairly fresh tasting when you reheat it because it hasn't been in the fridge too long.
Hey long time sub here. I wanted to share a few recipes that I think are great for leftovers and help with the random food cravings. I've been making stir fry with peppers and jalapenos and since its an all in one meal and you can put whatever you want in it really and just heat it up in the microwave and it tastes like I just made it every time. I've found the secret with this meal is to wait and put most of your sauces on when you heat it up to eat vs when you cook it. For instance I like teriyaki sauce but I noticed if I cooked with it the rice would absorb most of the flavor if I ate on the meal slowly over the week but if I waited to sauce it up till when I ate it then it was like I just cooked it and really all I did was sauce it up and slap it in the mircowave bing bang boom 2 ez. Another recipe I've been eating on a lot has been Taco salad. Again its nice because you can put whatever you want in it and I noticed after I started doing this I'd get cravings for my taco salad leftovers instead of the less healthy foods. And last tip was I would say lean into your cravings a little bit. Whatever your craving try and make as a healthy meal prep for next time to keep things fresh!
10:29 dude, i lost it on the syrup! HAHAAA what a mess that'll be to clean up. i bet the outtakes were hilarious! 😂 10:37 I SPOKE TOO SOON! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 between that and the wraps... hahahaha *great dedication, mikayla!*
This is what I do: Prep only part of the week or 2x a week to change food options. Also after cooking some recepies you can easily just repeat them and cook them fresh without thinking too much About it. I would recommend lower protein numbers btw
Ive been on meal prep for basically the same stuff for about a year now. Ive never had a problem with wanting to eat something esle because I hate having to think about what to eat. Just grab and go. I will say - having a personal chef who preps and cooks everything probably makes it alot easier 😅
I remember doing 5-7 day meal preps. At first it felt like amazing, I got my gains, it was easy just to reheat my meals. But after time, some meals I would make would get me bored after day 4-5. Then I’m like I’ll just give my food to my coworkers and they ate it up asking “why don’t you want it” Im like “its yours just eat it lol”. Now I make it 3 days a week twice to 3 times a month. I usually make quick options than something that takes me time. Air fry, baked, frozen items. I’m down 50 lbs. Still enjoy my life, cheat my diet once or twice a week. Still workout as normal.
the week 2 update for temptation.....i felt that in my soul. when your eating the same thing even if u switch it up over and over. craving something bad for u just once. but like batman said once u did it once........it never stops. excellent video.
Yeah, honestly I can say I fail because I don’t meal prep, in fact and my wife gets mad at me because I’ll even refuse to workout if I don’t have a good nutrition plan, I want max gains, so I don’t want to waste time ect. Thanks for the video & motivation! I bought your golden 5 home gym plan and can’t wait to start soon!
For those going on about grocery costs. I'm at 3200 calories a day Daily foods include: Smoothie- ground oats, frozen fruit, banana, coconut water, protein powder, creatine, maca powder, ground flax seed, chia seeds, and hemp seeds Then the day has just this stuff: Peanut butter, rice cakes, banana, apple, carrots, protein shake, milk, cottage cheese, Whole wheat bread, honey, rice, mixed frozen veggies, olive oil and chicken Include multi vitamin, fish oil, and probiotic All of the food equals roughly $80 a week, and the protein powder is in this group. The creatine, collagen, multi vitamin, probiotic, and fish oil is $26 a week. In total, 3200 calories 410 carbs 209 protein 84 fat Total cost: $425 First time doing this so yes, exact same thing a day and it will get old, adding lean red meat and other things likely will change the cost It actually is CHEAPER to eat healthy than unhealthy, the stuff they tell ya isn't true. Being unable to eat healthy isn't a income problem, it's just a personal preference problem. No hate to anyone though! Heck I love a good doughnut or a bag of chips lol. Money isn't the issue though, I used to believe that too, but turns out it isn't true. Remove my supplements, yes the calorie total shifts a bit, but just to eat healthy and my grocery bill is $256 a month.... So anyways, just an example of pricing! Goodluck folks, do what makes ya happy and be your best self! Edit to add: this has 3-4 servings of fruit, 3 servings of veggies and a total of 46g of fiber
I always failed and hardcore meal prep. I also have the luxury to be able to cook at work too. A happy medium that's worked for me. Plan breakfasts that require minimal cooking(avocado toast and fruit), and learn and practice good cooking skills. If your good with a knife, there's 100s of 1 pan meals that can take 30 minutes. And I try to cook enough dinner so that I have a lunch for work the next day. At that point, it's all about the snacks you keep around. Pistachios, peanuts, beef and pork jerky are go to. Makes for more a habit than a chore. Just my 2 cents
I have alot of dietary restrictions, and after 6 yrs, I couldn't eat another salad for lunch. It railroaded my progress, both physically amd mentally. I had no choice, but get my head in the game. It actually reflected in my meds.
Pro-tip: if you have a Costco near you, look for the La Tortilla brand low carb tortillas. You can get a stack of 20-30 for 5.99. but they also sell smaller packs at places like Kroger. The ones in this video are 140cal, 4g pro, 24g carb and 3g fat. The La Tortillas are 70cal, 5g pro, 6g carbs and 2.5g fat. Oh and they have like triple the fiber of other tortillas/grain products. They're amazing.
Great video as always. The only thing I would question, and very keen to hear people's opinions on, is the amount of red meat consumption, additives, and what looks to be a low in dietary fiber. It would be great to see you so something similar, but ensure that fiber intake is high, overall meat consumption is lowered, and additives in sauces, or pdocuts are cleaner. Essentially, I'm keen to see you do this on a cleaner, and better for the body & planet plan. Pls keep in mind I'm not saying don't eat meat, instead I'm saying is there a cleaner way to do this with more balance. I know there is, but often people think that to get results they need to substitute. Would be keen to see a more whole foods approach, balanced meat and some purely non-animal options, higher fiber, eliminating additives and chemical, no processed foods etc. All while still obtaining adequate protein levels and yum food.
I hope people pay as much attention to you guys like derek from MPMD and Greg doucette you guys offer such valuable information in a fun and informative way
Started meal prepping two weeks ago ad the temptations really are insane. I keep getting extreme urges everyday to go out and eat garbage but I can feel the difference already.
I know the feeling man. Cravings are the worst!! I meal prep all my weekday food, but one thing I’ve done to alleviate my cravings and avoid de-railing my eating habits is actually factoring in some splurge calories - basically just set aside about 10-15% of my daily caloric intake (250-300cal) for treat foods (e.g., small bowl of crisps, a bit of dark chocolate, etc.). No I’m not sub 10% BF, but I happily maintain my diet this way, consistently hover around 15% BF without much effort, and I feel I have a healthy relationship with food 👌👌👌
Hey there, new subscriber here. I just had a question, where do your throw your daily workout in that daily meal plan schedule? should i workout after breakfast and before the protein shake snack, or after the protein yogurt snack and before dinner? Thanks in advance!
Hi, thank you so much for this video. I keep looking at all these prep meals, but no one shares his/her experience. So thank youuuu. ❤ It was very informative. Just one question before I start... do you store everything in the fridge? Does it taste good/safe on friday? Or do you freeze the thursday and friday meals? I am particularly thinking on those overnight oats, chicken, and meats. I know rice and potatoes can handle it. 😅
does your cook book have low carb receipes? im only allowed around 40 carbs a day and healthy fats cause im insulin resistent. Im already down 30 pounds but im getting tired of eating chicken and veggies all the time.

Huge difference in your physique after 30 days. Good work.
12:29 there was a big improvement
thank you for all the content you put out
This is amazing always loved the Buff Dudes content 💪
OMG I absolutely died laughing lol!
Thank you dudes! You motivate us and everyone around us.
I have alot of dietary restrictions, and after 6 yrs, I couldn't eat another salad for lunch. It railroaded my progress, both physically amd mentally. I had no choice, but get my head in the game. It actually reflected in my meds.
Amazing video!! 🙏💯🔥
How does this only have 8 likes? This production quality is freaking gold..
The peanutbutter was funny LMAO
Pro-tip: if you have a Costco near you, look for the La Tortilla brand low carb tortillas. You can get a stack of 20-30 for 5.99. but they also sell smaller packs at places like Kroger.
The ones in this video are 140cal, 4g pro, 24g carb and 3g fat.
The La Tortillas are 70cal, 5g pro, 6g carbs and 2.5g fat.
Oh and they have like triple the fiber of other tortillas/grain products. They're amazing.
I've been meal prepping since August. It's the only way I was going to lose the weight I needed to. I'm down 69lbs since then, 40 more to go.
10:10 All prep and no play makes jack(‘s sweet tooth) a dull boy…👀
All while still obtaining adequate protein levels and yum food.
omg that bit with Makayla was the funniest shit I’ve ever seen 😂
I hope people pay as much attention to you guys like derek from MPMD and Greg doucette you guys offer such valuable information in a fun and informative way
The Temptation Montage was brilliant.
I do have your cookbook and it is great.
A lot of really nice images in it too.
Brandon, u're the best! Your routine videos and food preparation motivate me a lot!
need that cook book ASAP
Not seen BUFF sketches in ages
Bloody hilarious lads 😂
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
10:13 😂😂😂😂 okay that was hilarious
Awesome video lads. Had me cracking up!
Greatings for the meals and the effort put into this video
Anyone else thinks Brandon would be a hell of a Marvel's Sabretooth?
It would be cool if you showed a price for the meal prep breakdown. Loved the video!
I mean for 30 days, that’s a pretty noticeable change. Especially for you being already pretty lean. Great work!
does your cook book have low carb receipes? im only allowed around 40 carbs a day and healthy fats cause im insulin resistent. Im already down 30 pounds but im getting tired of eating chicken and veggies all the time.
The fact Makayla looks better when doing a haul than with makeup etc.
👌
the dedication is insane
The temptation part was the best. 😎
WHOA BEEF JERKY SOUP. That's a new one.
