That's a good point. It's hard to say because we don't how we are going to react until we get in situations like combat or other life and death scenarios.
I'm assuming this series was filmed mostly in California instead of Europe. The terrain, plants, and trees are more like that found in California, and much of the architecture (wood bridge construction, etc) is very American.
I could be wrong (ask my wife...) but I think Lennon was Charlie in an episode of Star Trek. Charlie could do horrible things to people just by thinking about it...

And besides, once you reach a certain age, they will pull you out of the active combat zone because you are not as fast as you were when you were younger. Combat is a young man's game and you have to be able to move and react quickly in combat situations.
If you follow the story line he is not eligible for further promotion. He's been a Sargent since Africa, but was busted too many times. Not a good garrison soldier...

@@dindinprivate3477 Sergeants don't get promoted to Majors! You have to be an officer or get recommended to become an officer first...Besides I think Saunders preferred being on the line...

I have always enjoyed the t.v. Combat series and Sgt. Saunders! But I have always wondered why he doesnt carry any ammo pouches for his Tommy gun!

I know the TV show was on a budget but they should have try to built some of the Opel trucks the German used in the war. Anyhow the show was great!
