Yeah... Drake doesn't just cause catastrophes "sometimes". He causes them EVERY time. First Drake goes to an old house, the house burns down. Then he gets kidnapped on an old cruiseliner, he sinks the boat. Then he sneaks aboard an airplane, he crashes the plane. By the time he finally discovers this lost underground desert civilization, I'm like, "Oh damn! This place is going down!" ...and it does. So very hard.
Played all three and loved them. Uncharted 2 is definitely my favorite. It had the greatest story elements, at least for me, although the playable action scenes in Uncharted 3 are edge of your seat gripping epicness. Can't wait for Uncharted 4!
I literally just completed Uncharted 3 and had your review ready on my laptop to watch! :L And I think Uncharted 3 was SO creative! like the (SPOILER ALERT) drug scene in Yemen and he's walking around hallucinating. & the desert scene where he's walking around lost. I LOVED the kid chapters to. There was just so much things added it was amazing. However, for some reason I still didn't love it as much as U2 I think it's because the structure was so alike to the 2nd one, I wanted a difference..

Now I will admit without hesitation that Uncharted 2 is a fantastic game and in terms of sheer pulse pounding, adrenalizing moments 3 doesn't quite live up to 2 (though it definetly comes close) but everything else as far as I'm concerned is the best its ever been. The combat, puzzles, and story are all the best they've ever been up til now, and while I absolutley adore the awesome moments in 2 I think 3 beats out 2 just barely for me.
Uncharted 2 imo was a lot better because of the story and characters. I would never say a game is better because of a handful of events. Fucking disgraceful as well as idiotic
Eeeh, drake's deception is good, but it feels disjointed. It's no secret that naugthy dog thought about the scenarios first, and made them fit into the story later...like the boat sequence, it's so incredibly dumb that I can't even believe it...still a good game, but flawed

However, the end felt slightly anti-climatic as far as gameplay, but for a story, it ended how I felt it should've ended, probably the only way it could end. I was somewhat miffed as it did not have any Mystical, "Mummy Type" supernatural element as I was expecting. But that was my only real bumber of this game. Can't wait for Uncharted 4 and I have high expectations from Naughty Dog in that regard. It better be good. As for current favorite of the Uncharted games. Gonna lean toward Uncharted 2. Iv always thought 3 was better than 2. Don't get me wrong 2 is still an amazing game, but to me 3 had the edge in terms of story. It delves into Drake and Sully's relationship and Talbot just felt like an evil version of Drake. He fight's like Drake, climbs like Drake, he messes with the mind and is just cool. The game was 2 just refined, like with the fighting they added counters and how you can fight multiple enemies at once. Not to mention the game just looked like a freaking movie. Also the ship level and the desert level were just amazing. Some of the levels in this game you could just see that Naughty Dog were really maxing the ps3 out.
+James Black I feel like 2 and 3 are equal. But I hate when I see guys bithcing at uncharted 3 and I don't understand why? They are not many but there are.
The edge uncharted 3 has over 2&1 is Nate & Sully's relationship is most prominent in this game. In uncharted 1 sully is only there for like 1/4 of the game total and in uncharted 2 hes there for like 2 chapters and the ending cutscenes
+rockys201 Picking between the 2nd and the 3rd is the hardest choice I have ever had to make. They are literally the 2 best games I have ever played in my life.
1. Uncharted 2 2. Uncharted 4 3. Uncharted 4. Uncharted 3 I feel like I'm the only living human being that prefers U1 over U3, for some reason Uncharted 1 has a weekend blockbuster movie charm for me that Uncharted 2 and 3 and 4 never reached for me and Unchated 3 felt super broken up and segmented. Still love it though
I just completed UC3 & found it enjoyable but far too easy. Compounded by there being no final boss or difficult final set piece, unless you count a few easy jumps as buildings collapse around you. Yet again another excellent game by Naughty Dog, which is only let down by a poor finish.
I felt it kinda had one, like Uncharted 1 style, a bad guy you punch over and over till' it gets weak (with a few quicktime buttons) that you fight like a regular big muscular enemy and end up killing with a few shots, later going back to run away from sand destruction. However in comparison to UC 2, yeah... pretty bummer
OMG! They just released a gameplay demo for Uncharted 4!!! And it looks so freaking awesome!!!! Jeremy, you really need to check it out. Seriously, even though the game isn't finished yet, it already looks almost real! Plus, the gameplay looks epic!
@nowwhatson Agreed. Gotta prepare for 56,000 people yelling at me to review it while I'm still playing it, trying to beat it 3 weeks after it comes out.
Phoenix1121212 the game never told me... and the triangle is barely noticeable so I never would have known about this had I not heard aboout it from Jeremy
Uncharted 2 was amazing, Uncharted 3 let me down a bit in terms of story. It honestly felt a bit a complicated and very rushed once you get to the city. Like the game was just going "okay, let's wrap things up." And they shouldn't have done both T.E. Lawrence and Francis Drake, just pick one! It got way too complex. and the villains just show up everywhere. Why!? And the weird rug dream sequences, why!?! And I actually don't like when the characters question why I'm going after the treasure, that really takes me out of it.
Is it just my copy, because Uncharted 3 is the most glitchiest game I've ever played. I'm getting invisible bad guys, Nathan would freeze in his last stance before a cutscene starts, on a ship level the water would be red with no detail, and on the first level in a bar fight Nathan is thrown into a room that doesn't exist and then it appears when the camera switches angles.
I thought so..... I had the same problem. It's because the processor in the super-slim is slower than in the other systems, which makes it unable to play the more graphic intensive games. Sony tried to cut corners with the new version i guess
2:38 the problem with that is by the end, it's another cursed city which makes those duscussions pointless, so is every lost city in the uncharted universe cursed? (Before uncharted 4 was announced)
@wwestunner81 Incidentally, I found Altiar more interesting as a character because you don't know his backstory, but you know his personality, how he reacts to things, he was still his own seperate character without having to delve into his full history.
I played all four games and can confidently say the third is my favorite is the series. The others are amazing as well but there was something in Uncharted 3 that made me replay it again and again. I replayed it 10+ times in a single year. It is a legendary game. The entire franchise is a masterpiece though, which is very rare. Uncharted is easily one of the best video game series of all time.
Hey Jeremy just wanted to let you know the reason why Cutter wasn't in the second half of the game was because the voice actor/mo-cap actor that plays him is in the Hobbit movie. The actor Graham McTavish moved to New Zealand for 2 years for the filming of the Hobbit. He did have a week though to do the filming for Uncharted so Amy the creator of Uncharted had to work fast and had to find a way to write Cutter out of the story. Hence the reason behind his broken leg.
Sully never left the quest in this game. He knew Drake wanted this for the past 20 years and how personal this was, and that's why he supported him until the very end. And you can survive the desert like that but I do agree fighting all those guys after such events felt a bit off until he got to the camp.
Recently went back to play Uncharted 1 on the Nathan Drake Collection and this may sound weird but the cutscenes looked way too video game like. The characters moved around in a very cartoony way and the cutscenes were finished as soon as they started. They looked more like something from Jak and Daxter than a movie inspired action adventure game.
ALTHOUGH I PLAYED THEM ALL ON PS3 (NEVER FINISHED UNCHARTED 3) I GRABBED THE COLLECTION ON PS4 FOR A SWEET DEAL OF $30..GLAD I DID THE GAMEPLAY IS UP'D TO 10 AND IT'S THE FIRST GAME U REALIZE WHAT 60 FPS REALLY IS DOING.. THE SERIES IS A MUST BUY HANDS DOWN AND WORTH EVERY PENNY- THIS IS WHAT 3RD PERSON SHOOTERS SHOULD BE!
I loved the whole Uncharted franchise and platinumed every single one of the installments, although the third game is honestly my least favorite for the reasons you pointed out!
I adore this game. I think it was the first well made game that surpassed a well made movie. It shows that in the end video games will provide a richer experience and have fewer limitations than movies, just like movies were to radio shows and books. Playing this game gave me a more complete experience than any movie I have ever seen. The cruise ship scene, desert scene, and Nathan, Sully, Chloe, and Cutter walking down a sketchy London ally were some of the classic scenes I will remember.
Uncharted games are awesome. One of my favorite series of all time. I'd have to say the second one is the best one. It's probably the longest, it has a better scenario, the characters are (like Jeremy said) better placed and so much more stuff like that Yet I like them all, and I play them back once in a while because they have such a good feel to it...
While I had a big issue with the gameplay (I own an Xbox 360, not a ps3) this made me want to get a PS3! I mean, I saw an edited down version of the game to fit movie length, and that flashback of Nathan as a kid reminded me of Last Crusade. And that plane scene.... my god...
The Uncharted games imo Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, 7/10, not that fun... Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, 9.5/10, one of the best games ever made. Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception, 10/10, my favorite in the series, it's too underrated and Uncharted 3 is a masterpiece. Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, 10/10, such a emotional story, I love Sam. Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, 8/10, Playing as Chloe is a nice opportunity and I love her hilarious jokes.
Jeremy, I gotta tell you, I played and finished the 1st one, and it felt like a poor-mans "Tomb Raider". Comparing my sole experience of Uncharted, I would say the new "Tomb Raider" just towers over it. The sea-doo levels drove me crazy, the controls were frustrating and the gameplay during those scenes almost made me give up. It was a solid adventure game, better than some, subpar to others. My money remains on the "Tomb Raider" franchise as well as the Batman "Arkham (insert awesome adjective)" games. Keep the vids coming, I love your energy!!
That's 'cause it was a poor-mans Tomb Raider. You have to push through it, I don't even own the first one anymore. The first is OKAY, the 2nd..was amazing. The third..at first I thought it was slow, a little boring, then became more & more cinematic & just incredible. Best out of the 3 & was slow BECAUSE It was the longest & most cinematic. I super highly recommend you play the others, they..honestly destroy Tomb Raider. And I used to play those when I was younger on PS1.
Then you obviously haven't played the second. The game becomes a completely different animal by then and blows away anything Tomb Raider ever did. So much in fact, that the new Tomb Raider basically is taking away a lot of influence from THEM.
are you serious...tomb raider copied so much from uncharted 2. uncharted 1 is a solid game, but 2 is when it steps it up. its one of the defining games of the generation, and incredibly fun.
love the young drake's part especially the chasing part... hate the level before riding the plane.. i can't remember how many times i got killed there.. i think i already played a number of games but never before i had ridden a horse..i mean literally sitting in a horse and not by some chariot or something.. i really had a great time playing this game.. a very memorable game..
Jeremy, love your reviews. I know you only review games, movies and tv series but it would be amazing if you would review Attack on Titan. It's an anime which blew my mind away due to it's hardcore nature and amazing visuals. I recommend this, its amazing! Continue doing what you do
I loved the first mission and it had me hooked but the moment that made me love this game and replay it over and over again is when you run away from Catherine's men in the 3rd Mission. As you jump into the apartment and hit square in the kitchen, Drake slams a refrigerator door right in the Face of one of those dudes. It's not even prompted so I was so excited that I could actually do that based on what I would expect in that moment.
This wasn't about the whole game as a general. We are talking about the story mode in which case LA noire= about 15 hours, rdr=about 15 as well, gta4= about 10. Almost every game is over 40 hours of playthrough if you try to get everything. However when jeremy said 10 hours he meant the story mode, not everything
ND admittedly said they made a mistake announcing Uncharted 3's release date a year in advance which means that it was meant to be a 2012 release. Just imagine how awesome it would have been if it was released in 2012 considering the end 2011 product was also a brilliant game. But if it was released this year they could have added a lot more since they said they had to take out a lot from the game to push it for its release date
Well..for me they really changed and upgraded the hand to hand combat. You can grab guys and throw them, where You want, just much more dynamic and cool. Also the movement transitions are much better, like when You are changing Your movement into 180 degree opposite direction, the movements feel so real. Also that occasional "hand support", where Your character is sort of touching walls, corners etc...like real people do.....fucking huge upgrade if You ask me.
I actually got Uncharted 3 for free when I bought my new ps3 after my old on broke. It just came with it, but the point is that I never played the other games in the franchise. I loved the game and I thought I might be missing something, because I started with the third game, but I didn't feel like I was missing anything and I found it entertaining and fulfilling without having played the other games.
@JeremyJahns So jeremy, i am getting all of the uncharted games. I am getting the first one on Saturday and i am trying to go in knowing very little. And i watch your reviews of all the uncharted games and you sir make me want to get it even more!
Nice selection there dude...! I'm also planning to get a ps3 next year after ps4 comes out! I am also an xbox 360 player, since the 25/12/2012 and i sorta regret it because i loved the ps2 r&c games and the uncharted ones look good too. So i want to get these games hopefully! Could you possibly recommend anything else... i have a ps vita also. Thanks
Well,If you enjoy action/adventure games, this is one of the best. If you,as I suspect, are a combat/shooter fan, well there are some pretty darn good ones there, but they are interspersed with a lot of exploration & puzzle-solving segments. There are also many acrophobic climbing & platform-jumping sequences ( breathtakingly precarious !) as well, which I personally enjoy. I hope that helps a little.
Playing through the series again (but backwards) U4 was awesome, playing through U3 right now and just finished the cruise liner level. U3 definitely has great action and puzzles (love the puzzles in this game.) Story wise I’d say U4 has the upper hand over U3 but idk why they took out the melee system that U3 had. Definitely looking forward to playing U2 again.
the fact that ppl ask u to review games/movies theve alredy played/seen means that they care more about listening to u than the thing itself ..... pretty awesome :D
Jeremy, dude you should seriously do LP's and walkthroughs with commentary i think youd be entertaining as all hell i mean your funny as shit you do reviews of the games and always seem like you could just go on and talk about stuff personally i think you'd be an entertaining LPer and should at least try it out.
In Canada (at least Quebec) Talbot is a normal last name. Denis Talbot is a famous video game critic who has a tv show about it. Drake's Deception is as good as Among Thieves.
I never played video games, I played Uncharted 3 at a toys r us in Times Square NYC, I loved that game it had me hooked and bought the game and ps3 the same day, and also like far cry 3
@chippyalf I'm not dressed like Drake, Drake's dressed like me.
Yeah... Drake doesn't just cause catastrophes "sometimes". He causes them EVERY time.

Jammyfish just play it on a harder difficulty, that's what I did.
Alex Ewe Rarely play games once I`ve completed them. Work commitments & family won`t allow it.
DepressionMoon they had one it just was quick
(tears) I remember when Jeremy only had a couple hundred subs. I was one of those subs :*(
We have come so far Jeremy!
I got uncharted 3 when it was fresh for free when I purchased my ps3. Never did I play the other 2 just that uncharted 3 and I did enjoy it.
Played uncharted 1,2,3 just this month on my PS5. Totally worth spending the time!!
OMG! They just released a gameplay demo for Uncharted 4!!! And it looks so freaking awesome!!!! Jeremy, you really need to check it out.
Seriously, even though the game isn't finished yet, it already looks almost real! Plus, the gameplay looks epic!
The chapters where you play as a young Drake are so awesome. This game is awesome overall.
i still like the second one better
@nowwhatson Agreed. Gotta prepare for 56,000 people yelling at me to review it while I'm still playing it, trying to beat it 3 weeks after it comes out.
WTF the game never told me you can throw grenades back?! That would've been helpful if I knew earlier!
It tells you multiple times and when 1 lands by you, you can see a meter on the screen telling you when to press triangle
Phoenix1121212 Hahaha oops *embarrassed*
Phoenix1121212 the game never told me... and the triangle is barely noticeable so I never would have known about this had I not heard aboout it from Jeremy
how does jeremy monetize his videos if he uses copyrighted visuals?
I Loved this Game It was Really Really Action Packed!
GhastlyCloud 775 Yeah but the last two games had goos story pacing
Love your no-nonsense reviews. Tell it like it is my man. Tell it like it is. Keep up the good work.
@DarthBobify He did a video about his rating system a while ago. Try searching JeremyJahns rating system.
Thats just your copy. I had next to no glitches in the singleplayer. Sorry dude
Hey, just a question, but do you by any chance have the "Super-slim" PS3. You know, the one where the top slides open to put the game in?
Lucas Cyr yeah.
I thought so..... I had the same problem. It's because the processor in the super-slim is slower than in the other systems, which makes it unable to play the more graphic intensive games. Sony tried to cut corners with the new version i guess
Lucas Cyr Well, that is a SUCK.
i treat uncharted like a movie
i don't like playing it,just like watching it
and just for asking, jeremy only have a ps3?
The Second Uncharted game is the best. The third one wasn't great
Dude your reviews are awesome ,great job!
+Jeremy Jahns Its not just you. Helen Mirren is hot. I dont care what anyone says.
abztractbeats Ever since The Cook, The Thief, His Wife & Her Lover; I've had a thing for her.
I'd give this a 9/10 and I'd give the first 9/10 and the second and fourth 10/10. If your worst is a 9/10 you have become amazing
Best game ever. Great story, amazing graphics, and funny humor.
In my opinion I think Uncharted 2 is better, but I will say that the entire sinking ship sequence is the best game level I've ever played.
Not even close to as good as Among Thieves though
2:38 the problem with that is by the end, it's another cursed city which makes those duscussions pointless, so is every lost city in the uncharted universe cursed? (Before uncharted 4 was announced)
Bradley Cooper would be perfect to play Drake I think.
Yeah, true.
manav bhalla
Let's hope he's cast if they ever make a movie.
Colin Farrell looks alittle more like Drake to me.
Alex Brooker Nathan Fillion, ma Bois. Nathan Fillion
I really like that your reviews have been extended to some of the most high profile games of the year and not just movies :) thx
They were incredibly realistic for their time.
They were but they do look pretty dated now.
It's probably the longest, it has a better scenario, the characters are (like Jeremy said) better placed and so much more stuff like that
Yet I like them all, and I play them back once in a while because they have such a good feel to it...
While I had a big issue with the gameplay (I own an Xbox 360, not a ps3) this made me want to get a PS3! I mean, I saw an edited down version of the game to fit movie length, and that flashback of Nathan as a kid reminded me of Last Crusade. And that plane scene.... my god...
The Uncharted games imo
Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, 7/10, not that fun...
I would rate that Awesometacular, with a BAD-ASS seal of approval.
@JeremyJahns jeremy You have the best come back comments on all youtube!!!
My family has never really liked watching me play video games, this was one of those games my family enjoyed watching.
So much in fact, that the new Tomb Raider basically is taking away a lot of influence from THEM.
funny how tomb raider reboot copied everything from uncharted.
and I've played all the tomb raider games in the past.
are you serious...tomb raider copied so much from uncharted 2. uncharted 1 is a solid game, but 2 is when it steps it up. its one of the defining games of the generation, and incredibly fun.
It's been like 2 months since I finished the game and I still have the whole last half (in the desert) embedded in my mind.
love the young drake's part especially the chasing part... hate the level before riding the plane.. i can't remember how many times i got killed there.. i think i already played a number of games but never before i had ridden a horse..i mean literally sitting in a horse and not by some chariot or something.. i really had a great time playing this game.. a very memorable game..
This game actually got hate from some Uncharted fans..... I seriously don't get it. This game is absolutely amazing.
Hey Jeremy, you should review Heavy Rain. It would be awesome to hear what you think of it.
Jeremy, love your reviews. I know you only review games, movies and tv series but it would be amazing if you would review Attack on Titan. It's an anime which blew my mind away due to it's hardcore nature and amazing visuals. I recommend this, its amazing! Continue doing what you do
10 years since its release I've finally started to play it.
Jeremy, will you be reviewing Uncharted 4 A Thief's End
The song he's talking about is probably Ambushed, it's on youtube also. At :40 seconds oh man, awesome!
@JeremyJahns What do you think about me doing a Uncharted 3 Online Series? It would be great to know your opinion.
I'm not sure if you knew, the guy who did the Uncharted 3 Soundtrack also did the Soundtrack to Firefly!
In my opinion Uncharted 3 is the best of the series.
@JeremyJahns So jeremy, i am getting all of the uncharted games. I am getting the first one on Saturday and i am trying to go in knowing very little. And i watch your reviews of all the uncharted games and you sir make me want to get it even more!
I couldn't agree with you more on the secrets thing. I really wish they told more of the story of Nate and Elena's marriage.
New shirt!!!
yes of course, uncharted series is awesome and the glorious things about 3 are the understated things.
Anyone know what scene Jeremy was talking about when he said you were being chased by certain people?
No end boss fight? What would you call that fight with talbot?
It's often the subtle art of sarcasm that gets us.
Thanks
Did anyone notice that Jeremy is wearing the suit Nate wore at the beginning of the game? I know but I just noticed
Hey Jeremy ever played Dragon age or other bioware games ? What are your thoughts on dragon age ?
Well,If you enjoy action/adventure games, this is one of the best. If you,as I suspect, are a combat/shooter fan, well there are some pretty darn good ones there, but they are interspersed with a lot of exploration & puzzle-solving segments. There are also many acrophobic climbing & platform-jumping sequences ( breathtakingly precarious !) as well, which I personally enjoy.
I hope that helps a little.
Took me way too long to realize that the secrets Marlowe almost brings up are addressed in Uncharted 4
You, sir. Have a really good taste for games and movies.
I haven't played the third one, I'm too busy playing BF 3...you should too!!!
the fact that ppl ask u to review games/movies theve alredy played/seen means that they care more about listening to u than the thing itself ..... pretty awesome :D
