I've owned several budget projectors and the PJ40 is the best I've had under $250 (I got it for $210 on sale). It is much brighter and better color/contrast than I expected and is great for backyard movie night (with a supplemental sound system). I've used it on a 135" screen and the kids and wife love it.
This is what I bought for my projector, Gator Cases Padded Nylon Mixer/Gear Carry Bag with Removable Strap; 12" x 12" x 5.5" (G-MIXERBAG-1212). It is a perfect fit, padding is okay, outside pocket for remote and cables. Made of excellent cordura, should outlast projector easily. Like that it comes with shoulder strap. Fits nice & compact when I pack for karaoke shows. Was $36.50 when I bought it a couple months ago. You can probably find such a deal online.
Gen 3 is best but console gaming is best the way he's doing it through his computer it's like casting your phone so a delay is exacerbated but ps4 or Xbox play great.
I have a gen 3 and it is great for watching movies. The latency is fine for games if you place the projector in the ideal location and don’t use keystone adjustments. I have to rely on keystone since my projector placement is too high. The latency added by keystone adjustment is too large for me to enjoy playing a game.
Just a heads up the rubber feet are supposed to come off so you can mount it on the ceiling with four points instead of the flimsy tripod mount😂 it has four screw inserts under the rubber feet. In case anybody was wondering.
I love my Groview 818C.. it is a great projector.. but I am thinking about upgrading it to this. the newer version now has latency lower than Groview 818C with much higher brightness, better sharpness and color.
How's the focus consistency when you compare top and bottom part of the picture and the projector is tilted. Standard tilt angle that corresponds to fully extended adjustment leg and projector placed on horizontal surface. I'm asking because PJ20 is very bad unless it is perfectly horizontal.
You'll find that the more screwed the image is the harder it is to focus once keystoned. First the most important is the distance from the projection wall. The further away the bigger depth of field. then keystone settings will decrease the image size causing pixels to be recalculated for new areas which may result in digital blur. I had decent impressions and sharpness but I only had to lift the projector a couple of degrees.
Thank you for the review. I'm looking at getting this projector. One note: the latency is in most reviews measured at 50-60 ms, but that's still grey area for FPS gaming.
A quick update: we have made a few changes since the review last year. The projector now boasts a higher contrast ratio and approximately 20ms of low latency. Hopefully, it will be reviewed again. If not, we can post a testing video in our channel's monthly FAQ section.
That's great news. Firmware update? I'll check for the updates and report back. Will add my findings to the written version of the review. I've seen your Kickstarter. Looks like you are making strides :) we should talk more about it 🤗
@@NexiGoOfficial I tested the latest firmware: RUIOS.5202.1.2.0 and the lag between the primary and secondary display is approx 6 frames (~100ms) is there anything I have to switch to get to the advertised 20ms?

I also have a question about the positioning of this projector. Should i place it only in the center, or I can put it on the side a little bit and than adjust the angle? I want to use it in the bedroom and dont want to put it on the wall above my head)))
The projector shoots straight so it will expand equally in each direction - if you add an angle to it, you will need to use keystone feature to correct the skew and in result you will lose some of the resolution
you have an older version of this projector it looks like a gen 1 gen 2 and gen 3 have better response times for gaming better OS/apps and also gen 3 has better brighter led light source

Has anyone found a good case for this? It's in-between sizes. Most cases are a bit small and the ones I have found to fit are very expensive! Any recommendations would be great. I prefer a hard plastic, Amazon does have a soft fabric bag/case. But looking for case.
I haven't used that one but if you like games you'll have good time in low latency mode. It's decent for the money you get as long as you don't care about "smarts"

That's nice to hear. Thanks for sharing your impressions
What supplementary sound system did you go with?
Does it still work well one year later?
@TheRealTej yes I only recently swapped for a new review

Hi! I just wanted to ask, which projector do you have in your bedroom? Is it better than this one? Thanks in advance!☺
Currently I'm using this one as I like the low latency mode.

I don't believe so

They are tons of them.

Does the proyector need an external source to reproduce content or it can do it on its own
You can stick an USB drive and read files from that
what's the contrast ratio?
That's what I want to know. Nexigo are restricting this projector too much and not disclosing important information such as this.

Yes. The screen level screw can be removed and creates the mount point
