Amazon cage crawler test 2

- Test day 2 of our Amazon cage crawler. We made shock spring changes, went to a stronger 7.4v steering servo, dual stage foams in the rear and soft single stage foams up front. Great improvements but still unstable on side-hill, and shocks still aren't working 100% they way I want. More tuning to do.
Thanks for watching.

Here's the frame I used, all parts are listed in each build video.

Pretty mean rid I’m loving that front articulation 👍🏾
Thanks, it works pretty well. May try some other tires just to see if there's a difference
Sweet glad to see it’s working better time for some different changes and see if it helps you with side hills
Yep, crawling better now but still searching for that balance.
@@leesrcs you will find it I think you are getting close
Nice job. Really compression in the front. The 50% seems really stable, too.
Not perfect but getting better, def more stable
@@leesrcs
IF it ever gets "perfect" thats just an excuse to go to the next project.
Will ok looks like you got that beast crawling alot better budd use softer foams in the rear it should help gave you alot more bite on the tire
Yep, already decided on soft foams like the front. But I think it's doing great so far
@Lees RCs Yes I rewatch the last video just to see lol. it's night an day different budd great build
👍🏽 👍🏽 👏🏽
I put ar60 axles on mine for more ripth 😂 yes I no I spelt that wrong dyslexic, but great video defo subing
its was a fun rig to build and test, thanks for checking it out
Omg for ones can not wait till my birthday getting that cages the gf has ordered it I know its next day delivery but I still got to wait till the 15th of jun omg can not wait xddddd
Awesome, just make sure you get good axles and a good transmission, it's not worth going the cheaper route and stuff break.
How fast does it go is it a crawler or a Rock bouncer I think it’s pretty cool
I built it strictly as a crawler, had an axial 27t brushed motor
@@leesrcs I figured I’m trying to decide if I should build one from scratch or just buy one either or the price point is the same
@@erazco6568 if you buy one of the pre built ones from like amazon the axles are gonna be junk, and its hard to find parts when something breaks. I would build one and use axial axles so you know you can get parts for it later.
@@leesrcs I think that’s the route I’m going to go Im going to buy the cage and axles as far as the suspension and internals I’ll just go with the cheap to mid grade stuff because a am leaning you video did help me get an idea on how to build thanks
@@erazco6568 cool, and yes, most of the other stuff, links, transmission, motor, all are usually ok, spend your money on good axles and good shocks, dont buy cheap shocks, they really only work off spring pressure not oil dampening, the traxxas ones like I use are a little more expensive at first but work so much better.
What was the total cost to build?
It was about $270 before the custom axles, I believe there's a cost break down towards the end of (build video 2)
😎👍 i would replicate this with (alt foam)
Is that the 3d printed stuff ? Never tried that stuff before, would be cool. I think I'm going to softer foams in the rear like I did the front
@@leesrcs not 3d! just foam that you can customize as stiff or as soft as you want.
