I've the same cage to try out too, its totally disappointing, i ended up have to cut the horizontal plate where the box is for the drive shaft, link rod, and axle mounted servo to let it sit where it suppose to be. But its indeed very sturdy and hard, its quite difficult to cut even with rotaty tools.

My question, is it actually tube.....or solid rod. I have been tig welding frames together, and used both, however I've had issues with how heavy they come out. I ran the cheapie knockoff axles for 2 years, I hated the camber/ pinion angle issue. But my son didn't care. Drove it until the housings almost wore thru, bearings/ gears hold up good. The best way to fix the driveline angles is basically build it as a lcg style crawler.
I have almost the same frame... i cut the cabin of... only the rolbar i left on it then a body wil fit!
I have the scx10 cage. I chopped about 30 mm out of the top tubes and laid the windshield frame back.
Rtr on this one means ready to rebuild lol. I have the scx10 version but I used all axial parts except the drive shafts. U joint shafts are the only option to put in it. 👍🐒🇺🇸. Turn it into a mad max rig and have fun with it.
I was gonna get 1 to cut up and make a caged body. I don't think actually building off of one of these would ever go together properly
I’d rather a red at Everest 10 which is basically scx10i almost. Install 27T motor and 3S capable esc even 1060. Install shock plugs down to 90mm and extend chassis getting shocks vertical and bam.....decent rig
Yep E-10 is a very capable crawler out of the box. I'm planning on getting a second one lol
I have an E10 I turned it into a bouncer, brushless power, new 2.2 tires, custom chassis plates from eBay that made the shocks vertical, cheapish 90mm shocks and bam she is a beast of a rig
Whelp... I had already decided halfway through this video that I wasn't even going to attempt to put lipstick on that pig. I really appreciate you taking one for the team and making this video, because as of before you did this, the only review of this bad attempt at cloning a SCX10.2 was done by someone who has less than 6 months experience in the hobby and has one of these "I don't care about your 37 years of experience with RCs, it's simple enough to figure out on my own" mindsets, so you can use your imagination to figure out my next move after that. After watching your entire video, I wouldn't even waste my time and money on buying it for the roll cage and spare parts. 👊🏼🤘🏼🤙🏼

For 170 you can get an Everest gen 8 pack as a roller with portals. In my opinion a much better deal than this and great as a donar chasis for a project

Those driveshaft angles are bad needs shorter shocks , like 80 to 90 mm
I’ve seen worse that still worked fine but yes it’s probably a good idea to go smaller shock just in case
I actually bought an scx10 clone from banggood that was all metal and carbon fiber, like actually, and it works great for 250, I looked at this rig and after seeing your vid on it I wouldn't buy this one it looks better online XD
Integy had a frame similar to that in had got 10 years ago, best thing I did with it was cut the roof bars and add rake to the windshield. If you can weld, cut and remake some of the tube work and it can be a much better looking cage.
Id love to see pics of yours when it was done. I've come into one and trying to figure just how to make it look better

I feel your pain friend I bought a set of them axles all metal axles it said and I should have known better cuz they were like $38 and I sent and asked is that for the front and back is that a set I asked him oh yes a set and their metal axles oh yes they're metal axles they were metal axles plastic housing that was her excuse they give me needless to say I was kind of pissed so I did contact eBay and I told him they were falsely selling a product by misleading the consumer they took it down it was only a couple months later I followed through all my old purchases and they were selling them again with the same ad usually if it's too good to be true it is take care and be safe

Funny thing is I have a Scx10.2 clone, it’s a Reely Free Men came with a really bad Jeep Cherokee body, I changed the electronics, wheels and tyres and put a hardbody on it, does alright.
lol I got a scx 10 roller from my dads friend for free, because he bought a scx10 II builders kit and was not using the old chassis anymore. guess I got lucky
I was thinking about building something like that but, a piece at a time. Cage, the Chinese axles that look like TFLs, links and transmission from someone reputable.

The front shock spacers look totally unnecessary.
The camber might be from the wheels barely being held on the axle shaft like you said.
I'm still confused by the frame arrangement, of rail-tube-rail-tube-rail, lol. How could that possibly been cheaper than a full rail, haha

Guy's please I'm trying to save you 150 to 180 Buck's sincerely. you can get a Redcat Gen 8 Pak chassis for 149.00 way way better then the Scx10 clone I have this one taken apart on my bench especially the axles and drive shafts,shocks you be wasting your money. Axles are so bad gears Don't fit right in the housing so they grind down super fast.😕
