- Just a quick video of my thoughts on the Amazon cage crawler build.
I'm really having fun with this rig, excited to see what we can make it do with further tuning.

Absolutely phenomenal build, thanks for doing this. Love your channel! This is the build all of us need to see
thanks my friend
I have the same thing. I built it out of spare parts. I had mine at scale mountain today and i ran the whole course no problem. I do have 2.2 rupture tires.
Awesome, I love mine, may switch to 2.2 soon for more clearance
It turned out awesome. I dig it a lot
Thanks a bunch!
great build and overview of it
Thanks my friend
Definitely been a fun build for you we need to push them and see how far they can go
Agreed
Great job!
Thanks so much
great review 👍🏾
Thanks so much
yeah budd i like it looks awesome I sent Scott a few pics of a tow/recovery truck I'm doin I got the same trans you have in that
Cool, they are good for the money and not really much heavier than the plastic
@@leesrcs no I like it I took it apart an used marine grease in it so smooth
Those tires are the Chinese AUSTAR knock-offs of the Proline HYRAX. In some old tires tests I've seen, they wear just a smidge faster, but overall perform sufficiently to justify the lower price.
Next build... 4 WHEEL STEERING!!! 🤘😎👍
👍🏻 , 4ws, possibly, I'm think of a low cg crawler

Another good option. Gonna be fun to see what you come up with.
WOW very cool :)
thanks, it worked out pretty well since its not really meant to be a crawler chassis
Cool rc
Thanks
Hey Lee, I enjoy your vids! No hype, honest opinion and excellent ingenuity to balance performance against cost. I always get inspired to try something! Sorry if I missed it but did you end up using oil in the shocks? If so, what type/weight? I remember you commented that some peeps run without oil in those shocks. I bought the same shocks and want to duplicate your spring/oil setup. Thanks! Chano
Thanks so much. I only used a drop of oil to lubricate the o-rings, those are not baffle shocks so the oil does nothing else. They work off internal spring pressure only. If I were to build another one I would use better shocks that have a working dampening system like the traxxas ones I use on the LCG's.
@leesrcs Thanks for the response and info! I will try the ones in the build, and if not happy, I'll return. Are the Traxxas big bore your current pick for best bang for buck damped shock? Any more shock choices for a budget cage build? Nothing against Traxxas, just want to know your viable options. This Vet appreciates your time, and content!
@@chanorando I have had no luck with cheap Chinese shocks, they just don't have the tight tolerance of brand name, you would be safe with most name brand, Traxxas, Axial, etc, even if they are plastic body
@@leesrcs Point taken. Shocks matter and I'll put the $ where it counts. Appreciate the responses!
I bought the same links with ar44 axles. Im only getting about 1" travel in each direction. Did you modify the links at all? Or did you change to a different kind? Running out of ideas
your travel should only be limited by your shocks, take your shocks off and see what flex you have, you may need to go to longer shocks or change the mounting location.
Looks like you changed the links. Shopping list had plastic ends, yours look metal. Did you change the links, or just the ball ends?
I had changed the ball ends from plastic to metal but the plastic should be fine. I actually prefer plastic ball ends now.
Can you do an axle link video. I got a set and can't figure it out.
I watched your video, looks like it works pretty good, did you buy a different high clearance set or something?
What battery size are you running? Bout to order my frame. Going to be a spair parts truck lol.
I’m running a Zeee 7.4 4600 mah 2s hardcase, But I also see Zeee has a 7.4 5000mah 100c 2s available now. Mine runs forever on the 4600mah so either should work good for ya.
amzn.to/3K0siWN 4600mah
amzn.to/3AvuSB9 5000mah
What is the millimeter from each side of the body where the motor gets mounted to that skid plate or whatever it’s called please let me know
It uses a standard scx10 II skid plate which is 78mm
Just picked up this chassis. What link lengths did you go with?
I believe they were 324mm high clearance links, if you look in the description of the (build part 2 video) the link to them on amazon is there
Can you put a link where you got your box for your electrical parts ESC and receiver
2 pack for $10

@@leesrcs thanks
I just ordered this chassis, what size tube is it made out of? I couldn't tell if it was 1/4 or 3/16
@@jeremiahvowell1679 honestly don't remember it was a while ago, but it was solid bar not hollow tube, it was a fun build and I learned a lot.
Do you have a link to this chassis
Here it is, sorry, it was in the description of most videos, I also added it, thanks

Hi,
What’s the wheel base please?
It's what ever you make it, I ordered a set of high clearance links 313mm scx10II style
What was your end cost for this build?
All in for the build was just under $300, before I did the custom axles, there's a break down at the end of build video part 2, I believe everything is listed except the esc
Got your stickers today Lee. I’ll give you and Terminator both Shouts in the next vid
Not necessary but thanks
@@leesrcs 🤘
Try removing the weight from the rear wheels. You’ll steer and climb better. I used to run 4 too. Better with 2.
I'll give it a try, thanks for the info
