Yeah it is so sweet and wholesome.
It's so sweet when the song says "with my baby boy my troubles I forgot" and there's that scene of Mary playing with baby James,and also later,when she picks James up and holds him tight, right in front of her cousin Elizabeth. Mary was such a loving mother to that little boy and I bet she would have been very very proud if she could see him become the King of England.
This is a good song. But Queen Elizabeth didn't kill Mary because she was jealous of her but Parliament focus Elizabeth to sign Mary's execution paper and Elizabeth was greatly hurt/remorse after her own cousin death.
Still it was Mary who signed the papers wich plotted againts Elizabeth, and Mary even had her signature on a assassination attempt paper to kill Elizabeth. Queen Elizabeth's Spymaster: Sir Francis Walsingham, discovered this and told the parlement and Elizabeth of this. After a lot of arguing Elizabeth signed the death warrant for Mary's execution, even though she didn't want it for one bit. A few days after Mary's death, Elizabeth's Spymaster had found out that it was all Spain's idea to let Mary be killed and have a reason to invade England. King Phillip II of Spain then called up the Spanish Armanda to invade England and wanted to make his daughter the Queen of England. But we all know that luckly this never succeeded.

I understanding of what your saying Lady Anna Blain. But Mary Queen of Scot court was unfair as well (in which includes her third hushand *chuff-chuff*and lords) and Queen Elizabeth keep Mary imprisned that long because of fear that English catholic plot to put Mary on the throne than her. So I'm also saying that I do feel sorry for her ( leaving her only child behind and lost her rightes as queen of Scotland) but it was strong doggy to doggy world that time and Mary was taught to be a Queen of France than Scotland with less using/learning political tools in which she could have use in order to protect herself/ still be Queen of Scot.
Awesome! Wish they would've done vids like this when I was in school. I think Mary of Scots is one of the most fascinating figures of her time. Though her history was short lived think hers is the most interesting... People will always be intrigued by what could've been!

@JolieDawson This song is sung in the first person, from the view of Mary Q of S...many believed, as did she, she was the rightful heir after Mary I's death and that the marriage of Elizabeth's mother to Henry was "invalid", thereby discrediting Elizabeth's claim. That view is what what the song is trying to suggest, along with the incredible "drama" of her life. For contrast check out our Anne Boleyn or Elizabeth I song.

mary stuart is kinda similar to french queen marie antoinette, they were beautiful, they used to have a wonderful life, however they lost the head and became the tragic queen in european history
Xinyi Sally Peng Yes, and I believe Marie Antoinette is a descendant of the Queen of Scots, although I suppose all the royals are related in one way or another. Both definitely had tragic, short lives.

the unhappy victims were led, by fifties at a time,...yet all the secret parts of her character {Mary's} were as in a magical glass. We have been too long employed in admiring her, for the strength and vigour of her spirit. Part of Elizabeth having her executed is because some considered that Elizabeth wasn't the rightful ruler due to Henry having the Marriage to Anne Anuled. Such people were forming support for Mary as the next closest in line though she was never crowned
Since the song is a 1st person perspective it could indicate that in her mind she might have considered herself the rightful Queen

For 2 humble mid school teachers w/ no budget... We have to admit that they've done well here. Mrs. B's dress fits the role well (& she fits the dress well!), and Mr H's costume was interesting too. Why the Robin Hood look, I don't know, it may have something to do with the wandering minstrels/bards of the historical day. The building looks real, (if so, Hawaii has some nice architecture) but with Mr H, one never knows! Good summary of a lifetime in 3.5 minutes! Good research, methinks!

@princesskyrie Many Catholics believed that Anne Boleyn's marriage to Henry VIII was null, and Elizabeth illegitimate, so if they had their way the crown would have passed to Elizabeth's cousin, Mary, Queen of Scots (the word "cousin" is a loose term: Henry's sister Margaret Tudor was Mary Stuart's grandmother) Since Mary was ambitious and naïve, when she was Queen of France she bore the English royal arms and always claimed she was the true Queen of England.

@bunny2299 Well from what I've heard it should be easy enough to get at least a 4 and maybe a 5. A 40 on the multiple choice, 5 on DBQ, and 6 and 7 on the FRQ's is actually enough to get a 4. So don't count yourself out yet.
When I mean of "exact same claim",I mean in effect they were both great-nieces of Henry the 8th though Mary(grey sisters) and Maraget(Mary,QOS). I think the Grey sisters had more claim over it,since Henry put "heirs of Mary(his SISTER)." lastly into his will. He did not want a Scottish king on his throne(though he might as well have,arranging the possible marriage of Edward & Mary,QOS)
It went Edward,Mary Tudor,Elizabeth(and their heirs),Mary Tudor(older)'s heirs.
