But wait…if the project was approved for Lemon Grove, why was the money taken back? Also, why would it cost the same amount to build 1/2 as many tiny homes in Lemon Grove? Even if approved, where would the rest of that $10 million end up? 🤔

I guess it is challenging to find a neighborhood that wants 100+ tiny crime pods next to it.

Luckily, my spouse and I were able to pay off our mortgage early. We took the money we were spending to accelerate our mortgage repayment and invested it right away while we were both still working. We were able to retire early after accumulating what would have been our home payment for over 7 years and maxing out our 401K/403B plans. Thankfully, both of our parents taught in us the importance of living within our means.

Investing without proper guidance can lead to mistakes and losses. I know this since I've been there myself. Seeking guidance from a professional is preferable if you're new to investing or don't have much time.

Investors can have different investing results even with the best strategy and suitable assets. Understanding how experience plays a critical part in successful investing is key. Since I was aware of this, I consulted a market analyst for advice, which helped me build my account to about a million dollars. Having strategically cashed out just prior to the market correction, I'm now taking advantage of buying opportunities once more.

How can one find a verifiable financial planner? I would not mind looking up the professional that helped you. I will be retiring in two years and I might need some management on my much larger portfolio. Don't want to take any chances

San Diego is a slow moving bureaucracy. That’s why our housing situation is abysmal.

This was DONE without the vote of the people in Lemon Grove.

How misleading! The state pulled the funding temporarily, in order to motivate community leaders to make this a priority. These funds remain available under the condition that AREA RESIDENTS STOP BEING NIMBYs and pony-up their residential areas as positive locations for people in need to receive services.
Based on the stated costs of the proposed Lemon Grove sleeping cabin site, someone needs to show some Math on this issue: $3 million per year in MAINTENANCE COSTS for 70 sleeping cabins??? That's about $3500 per person per month. That's enough money to subsidize a very nice apartment home for each and every person, PLUS luxury services. There are THOUSANDS of empty apartments throughout the Lemon Grove and Spring Valley areas that are renting for much less than the annual "maintenance costs" for these 70 sleeping cabins, not to mention the design and construction costs, which is likely a low estimate at $10 million. Are homeless people highly objectionable in some way, that we must keep them segregated from "normal" people who live in neighboring apartment homes? How would providing security and monitoring of 70 people in established apartments be more costly than doing the same work within a 70-person tiny-home community, other than the logistics of visiting each different unit, which would be an extra 20 minutes of travel and a dollar of gas more? (Are all homeless people violent slobs or something, or is there some zombie thing going on with all the homeless that I'm unaware of? Are they all drug addicts, and they need a kind of sleeping cabin rehab community?) Shouldn't we be integrating people we intend to "find" permanent housing, into potentially-permanent housing in the first place?
