Not a single Victus under $400 anywhere. Well done 😂
yeah I can't find one either
yeah they seriously make a video like this and then ruin the price for everyone else these videos are always a joke tbh
@@thompsonevergreen8006 always look for the dell optiplexes. im on a $150 budget rn and imma buy one of those, slap an ssd and gpu in.
yeah cus the mf hyed them up🙄
For an OEM prebuilt, I actually really like these Victus PCs. You have a decently powered system from the start, and have a very simple upgrade path to go for. You can even add a 92mm AIO in the back, and a 80-92mm (I think) fan in the front for some additional airflow. You can go a little enthusiast on it, which is not that common for OEM builds. Slap an RX 6650 XT in there, a 92mm AIO, an intake fan, and the extra stick of ram if needed, and you've got yourself a very capable system.
Hmm maybe the very limit would be an RTX 4070, if one of the smaller models can fit, and a Ryzen 5700g...
An AIO might be a little overkill but would be fun tbh
@@ZachsTechTurf Yeah it's a little silly to put in a budget prebuilt, but completely decking out a Victus out with an RTX 4070, an AIO and an intake fan could be pretty fun.
I got a "HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop" with a 5600G and RX5500 almost two years ago. At the time it was more like $400. The case has slightly different styling (ribbed design with a green light on the front) However, it looks like an identical motherboard and internal case layout. Maybe worth checking out if you're having trouble finding one of these Victus ones. I upgraded to an RX6600 and it has been running great!
Thanks for sharing!
Victus is just a repackaged Pavilion
Quick q, does urs come with the 430w? I want a gpu upgrade but the power limit has been whats bothering me about getting an upgrade
@@d.3465 Hello! I pulled it open to check. The power supply says 18A on each 12v rail and do not exceed 400W on it. I've never tried running both the GPU and CPU at 100% for a sustained time and I also have not tried it with the multiple monitors. I'm running a single nvme drive, no mechanical HDD's or anything. So, I can say it runs fine for normal desktop use and gaming, but I've never tried to push it hard.
@@PhxVigo Hi sorry for the late reply, thx, I was planning on undervolting the cpu and gpu
I don't know if I'm being silly, but I can't find a single one for under $400, except one where someone just snagged the 6400 and sold it on
same
Too be honest, this PC is quite good for light gaming and would be exceptional as a home office PC! Can always add more storage, if one chooses the latter.
Before I gave my Pavilion to my kid I ran an 8TB+10TB HDD setup. The internal layout is nearly identical. Since then I’ve put a 240GB+500GB SATA SSDs on a dual caddy in the HDD tray, and mounted a refurbished 4TB HDD to the lower front panel. I still have space on the black side grill for another SATA SSD, but may put a fan there. There’s also space underneath the HDD tray on the upper front panel.
Just remember don't believe the fake headlines these youtubers do to trick viewers, this pc goes for around 400$
not even close to 200$ lol
Yep for sure!
I cant lie it looks super clean too
Nice profile picture and user, my good sir 🎩
Very decent aesthetics from HP for sure
@@ZachsTechTurf yo a reply too lessgo only from the best💪
I put an small intake fan on the side vent (mounted to the black frame on the inside), as well as an RX 6600 XT and this machine screams. I got the whole PC for $168 new, open box, from Walmart and added the GPU, extra RAM, and the fan for only $80 more total. What a steal of a PC this one turned out to be.
Screams value or screams because that extra fan is so loud? lol
This is actually exactly what I have! I upgraded to 16 gb or corsair ram. I also put a different cooler on it.
Damn, Corsair ram? Big baller!
Very nice!

Note: this is an HP, so whatever RAM you install WILL be initially running at the JEDEC Speed. With two sticks, that will be anywhere between 2133 and 2400 mhz for that care about these details.
POTENTIAL (as in I have not tried myself yet) RAM With 3200 JEDEC supposed speeds (CL22) such as the Crucial Pro, may run at the 3200 mhz speed with CL22. More so because this is an AMD Motherboard, rather than an intel.
HOWEVER, not to fear if you do buy this and don't want, for whatever reason, the CL22 RAM, and want CL16 RAM. Only for AMD but you can overclock the RAM using Ryzen master.
This is from the HP website : Theses are the only CPU's that will work with that board. R 7 5700G would be a decent upgrade, 2 more cores.
AMD Ryzen 3 5300G (Cezanne) 4.0 GHz base clock, up to 4.2 GHz maximum boost clock, 8 MB L3 cache, 4 cores
65 W
AMD Ryzen 5 5600G (Cezanne) 3.9 GHz base clock, up to 4.4 GHz maximum boost clock, 16 MB L3 cache, 6 cores
65 W
AMD Ryzen 7 5700G (Cezanne) 3.8 GHz base clock, up to 4.6 GHz maximum boost clock, 16 MB L3 cache, 8 cores
65 W
Hmm, all the buzz about these things might've raised the price as my results are coming up close to $500 for these machines, that's still cheaper than a brand new computer but not by much, after you add the graphics card and RAM it's almost as much as a brand new gaming pc.
using those pcie to m.2 adapter is really worth it even though it got "bottlenecked" to 1 lane.
when using nvme with pcie 3.0 and x4 lanes you could get highest theoretical speed of 4gb/sec but with x1 lane you could still get 1gb/sec which is still faster than sata 2.5 drives
Still faster yep
For that system id recommend getting that extra stick of ram definitely. If more storage is needed id get a 2.5 inch ssd. As far as a gpu upgrade id say a 3060 is a good option.
Rx 5700xt bc the cpu is already a amd cpu and they would pair together nicely while being cheaper and bringing near
the same performance
@@DubyTalksTech The 3060 takes a single 8 pin for power not sure but I believe the 5700xt has an extra 6 pin, also got to mind the size of the card. Good alternative if there is a model that would fit and has an 8 pin
I just got the 4060 for this build because the power supply is not enough in the build. 4060 only draws 115.
You can totally build a 3060 based PC for $250 right now using a Xeon E5-1650 V4 and a new build X99 Machinist or Jingsha gaming MB with NVME support. Won't set the world on fire but it will get the job done for the next 2-3 years.
I wouldn't even buy this prebuilt to upgrade it. You can get the base hardware for much less than $200 and not be stuck with a proprietary MB or crappy case. Their proposed upgrade path will cost over $500 and still have lower performance than just building a rig from scratch with a used 3060.
If you're getting 122 avg and 78 1% lows in a game, you're gonna want to set the limiter to 90fps or so. When you have that big of a discrepancy, stutters are pretty much assured and Mirage is pretty bad in that respect. Has some gnarly frame drop potential even on fairly recent hardware unless you set a limit. I'm pretty sure it is more CPU related (single thread perf) because it will happen even on a much stronger GPU. It is due to the poor CPU task allocation of an old game engine being loaded up with fat textures and a lot more physics calculations than it was ever intended to run.
Ik most of yur videos are budget builds, but can u do a high-end build once in a while👀👀👀🙏
I'd go for SATA SSDs if I'd be a basic user. Easiest upgrade for storage expansion.
yep it's not really worth it to upgrade the M.2 , you'll get better value out of a SATA one , especially at this performance level

Thank you for finally doing a "you could earn points by watching" video. I skipped all of them.
Happens everytime youtuber talks about a cheap alternative and the prices get jacked up they are $400 to $500. 200-250$ gaming pc (used market) ~this is my build;
- i buyed a mobo socket 1150 (50$)
- an rx 580 (80-100$)
- 16 ram ( i used my old ram from my old pc)
-i5 4th gen (20$)
- psu 20+4 atx and 8 pin for the gpu (40 dollars)
- an ssd and hdd from my old pc
It can run 40-50 fps on rdr2 on medium-high
(The prices are from the used market and this are the prices in romania, make sure u buy them from someone with good reviews or test them first)
I wish more pc tech review related channels would add Rust to their benchmarks. Even though you could say this about any game, Rust is a very competitive and demanding game that is mostly cpu bound. The game is also very popular
Good for people with a budget
I won an i5 12400f and 1660super new boxed one of these on eBay UK for £208 shipped! I've still laughing right now, guess what the only upgrade it needed was an 8gb 3200 stick 🤣
Can u do a vid on how to upgrade to better for a 400 dollar budget
might want to tell us what the PSU is like, can it be replaced easily - what card could it support say if you did upgrade the CPU
Just a guess, but sfx would be a matter of cutting a rectangle out of an existing square, drilling new mounting holes, then finding the correct adapter. In theory tfx could bolt right in, but you’d still need the adapter.

My friend wants to buy an rx 6700 for an i5-4590. I told him multiple times that its a STUPID idea but he said "Your thoughts are not facts". i told him to buy an rx 6600 and upgrade the cpu or even change sockets but he will not take my advice. I NEED YOUR HELP.
Well if he's insisting on staying on that platform he should at least update the bios and get a $20 e3-1245 v3 which is basically a 4c/8t i7 4770 equivalent but you're still going to have a bottleneck with a 6700. Honestly even a 6600 you'll have a bottleneck even at 1440p. I guess it's not the end of the world but still a 6700 is a pretty bad idea on any 4th gen cpu. Grabbing one of those xeons on ebay anything e3-1230 v3 up to e3-1285 v3 will work I'd just get the cheapest 4 core 8 thread one. That will go quite a ways smoothing out framerates but yea an rx 6700 is simply too much for a Haswell quad core. Honestly a 6600 is too much and I'd recommend a 1660 super or at most a used rx 5700. a 6600 wouldn't be the end of the world though but please don't put a 6700 on that platform it's just not worth it.
Will you please start testing these with ark survival ascended instead of ark survival evolved as they have completely different performance requirements
Possibly. Good suggestion though.
Definitely try to upgrade the cpu! If it works, you have a new video. If it doesn't, then you have a new short. Win win

I want to buy a gpu which will last me for years around 700 euro. I cannot decide between 4070 ( mostly bc of ray tracing and dlss) and rx 6950xt (raw power and 16gb memory) which is a better choice? Have a better suggestion?
7800XT 100% and a top version here is $559 USD+tax.
Otherwise I would save a little more for 7900XT or 4070 Ti
Between 4070 plain and 6950XT, I'd go the 6950XT, definitely and VRAM and performance unless you are 4K, will be stellar in all but the newest unoptimized, AAA stuff!
Don't let ray tracing influence your purchasing decisions we're still quite a ways away from it being relevant, even in the main showcase game cyberpunk you almost have to pause and stare to see the difference between rtx and baked in lighting. DLSS is a step ahead of FSR though so I would maybe consider that. Honestly a 7800xt is a few % faster than a 4070 and a few bucks cheaper + has 4gb more vram. The 4gb of vram is 10x as valuable as ray tracing performance in 2023 and probably will be for the next 5 years at least so I'd value that more than raytracing. I guess you just have to decide how important DLSS being the better upscaling tech matters.
You could buy a far better GPU on the used market. That's what I would do because I've always had good luck with used GPUs. But since people make their own luck in such matters, there is no guarantee you would be able to find a good GPU on the used market. You kinda have to know what you're doing so you don't get ripped off. You have to be able to sufficiently test the GPU to verify it is in 100% working condition so you can return it if it is defective.
@@Lurch-Bot This, as long as the seller has good feedback and you have buyer protection through whatever platform or you do it hand to hand you'll mostly be fine. Also there is tons of value. I got a 6800 xt for 375 and you can even do better than that. Why pay 499 for the same performance you can get for 350-375
Ngl but the hp victus is like the dell optiples or school pcs of 2023. For example their cheap but they won't be slow.
For the money you can't knock these things, I think you've more or less maxed it out with a 4060. If it has 3.2 gen 2 ports you could plug an external drive in, they go almost twice as fast as SATA 3.
If you are playing at 1080p or 1440p, a 4060 is about the limit. Though I did recently pair a 3070 with a 4600G for a friend and that was fine at 4k.
@@Lurch-Bot
Isn't the 4600G a bottleneck for the 3070? Though I suppose at 4K the bottleneck reverses somewhat?

PCIexpress 3 dont matter
cuz PCI 4 dont have a big diference
The only problem with PC is the single stick of RAM? How about the crap cooling solutions on both the CPU and GPU? And what about the proprietary PSU and Motherboard?
You go ahead and try to upgrade that CPU. I really doubt that VRM on the motherboard is even capable to sufficiently power the 5600G.
A 5600x isnt as much of an upgrade as it sounds. Its only around 9% faster. That thing is e-waste.

Hi, the liquid cooler seems quite overkill for that CPU. I would suggest you change that to a cheap air cooler, and you can get a better CPU with that extra money. Also dual Channel RAM(2x 8 GB) is faster that single Channel RAM(1 x 16GB). The i3-10100F really limits your GPU, which is why i would choose the i3-12100f. That CPU uses the LGA1700 Socket, making upgrades easier. CPU is very important for editing. I hope this helps you

I have one ot those, but Intel version, came stock with 11400F, dual channel 3200MHz 16gb ram and a GTX 1660 Super (later i upgraded to RX6600). Problem on that pc are temps with stock components, expect cpu and gpu temps to be around 60-80º on gaming, and the noise from fans is loud. i did some modifications on the case to lower the noise, because the temps are about the same. Remove the metal cage inside the case for the HDD, and install an 120mm fan on the side panel. it will lower the temps about 10c, but more important, much lower noise from the rest of the stuff. i did remove the extra cables and other accessories from inside the case, and now have a better airflow. I did disconnect the front LED case thing, because i could feel that the front plastic was really hot on the LED controller location, so less heat and a bit less power consumption there too
10C from one fan upgrade is huge
@@ZachsTechTurf yes, the trick is to remove as much as possible from the inside to improve airflow. My goal was to improve as much as i can with the stuff i already had at home. I did try a tower cooler, an old Zalman cnps8x (this one i just need to trim down a bit of plastic to have some room for 3 motherboard capacitors), problem is that i could not close the case, cooler was too tall so, as expected all temperatures were improved, and fan noises too, but i don't like to see the case open, so i ended up gutting the interior and slapped the 120m fan on the side panel. I think that there are a lot of improvements to be done on this pc of mine, because the motherboard is an upgraded one, with a heat sink on cpu vrm's and allows the cpu to go up to 95W of power (stock is 65W), a low profile noctua cooler may do some lower temps and quieter operation + 1 rear noctua fan and the side panel too
How do the initial specs in this PC compare to an i7 8700k, GTX 1060 6GB, and 16 GB of DDR4 RAM?
Those specs are old but still gold, I personally wouldn't upgrade unless your trying to step into 1440p gaming

Hi Zach
I want to build a gaming pc using my HP mini case that I bought back in the day.
It's got a I5 4590s. As far as I know I should get a new psu since the original is less than 200w. The motherboard uses a 24 pin connector so no worries for extensions. Do you think the HP factory motherboard can support 16gb, an RX 580 or an RX 5700 xt? Or more more important, can it handle gaming and maybe a core i7 4790 for an upgrade?
most lga 1150 office boards ive seen does support 16gb ddr3(does tend to be 8gb/4gb per slot) if you get a 580 or 5700xt most office boards have pcie 2 instead of 3 so it may limit performance and an i7-4790 should work on the board as they are both lga1150 the 4590s will bottleneck so upgrading to i7 is probs good
