@@jillgenrich1363 Oh really? Then where was the work actually being done during Obama's time in office? It's much more than a fence Jill. It's a wall made out of steel. I live in Juárez and cross daily to my high school in El Paso. My conclusion is that El Paso is very peaceful and Ciudad Juárez is not. A huge wall is not going to be beneficial for neither side since we have bigger issues to attend in our own interior lands.
How many migrants cross into that area in the death of night passing through El Paso? I don't think the wall is to prevent violence and blatant crime. It's to prevent overnight migration through the El Paso area in the quiet of the night while most residents are asleep.

In 1824 Mexico’s authoritarian ruler Agustín de Iturbide enacted a colonization law authorizing the Mexican federal government to allow legal immigration into Texas. This statute allowed foreigners to gain title to land. Mexican liberals argued in favor of allowing foreigners to immigrate. This would satisfy multiple objectives, including promoting economic growth, increasing the number of males available to defend the country, and bringing new capital and skills into the country to replace those lost when many Spaniards were expelled or chose to leave the country. The process for gaining an official land title was expensive and time-consuming, and many residents chose not to have the land surveyed or complete the application process. The Mexican law required immigrants to practice Catholicism and stressed that foreigners needed to learn Spanish and all people wishing to live in Texas were expected to report to the nearest Mexican authority for permission to settle. Many Americans immigrated to Mexico, where land was cheaper. A few Americans who had become naturalized Mexicans settled in Texas during that time. Most of the immigrants came from the southern United States. Immigration of United States had begun to accelerate rapidly. The new population was not fully assimilated and by 1826, approximately 3,000 Americans from the United States were living illegally in Texas. Most of the immigrants came from the southern United States. Many were slave owners, and most brought with them significant prejudices against other races, attitudes often applied to the Tejanos. Most Anglo Americans tried to isolate themselves from Mexicans. By 1830, Texas had a population of 7,000 foreign-born residents, with only 3,000 Mexican nationals. In regard to slavery, influential settler Stephen F. Austin, who reasoned that the success of his colonies needed slave labor and the economics it produced to lure more whites to the area. Anglos from the United States soon vastly outnumbered the Tejanos. Mexican authorities became increasingly concerned about the stability of the region. The colonies teetered at the brink of revolt in 1829, after Mexico abolished slavery. In response, President Anastasio Bustamante implemented the Laws of April 6, 1830, which, among other things, prohibited further immigration to Texas from the United States, increased taxes, and reiterated the ban on slavery. The law explicitly banned any further immigration from the United States to Texas and any new slaves. The new Law rescinded all empresario contracts that had not been completed and prohibited Americans from settling in any Mexican territory adjacent to the United States. Secretary of State Lucas Alamán, who wrote the 1830 law, said that "Texas will be lost for this Republic if adequate measures to save it are not taken. Law of April 6, 1830 under President Anastasio Bustamante was issued because the Mexican state of Texas was in danger of being annexed by the United States. New issued settlement contracts were brought under federal rather than state control. Provisions of the law were designed to encourage Mexican citizens to move from the interior to Texas. Mexicans who agreed to relocate to Texas would get good land, free transportation to Texas, and some financial assistance. Convicts would be sent to Texas to build fortifications and roads to stimulate trade. The lack of a formal policy had not stopped many immigrants. Settlers simply circumvented or ignored the laws. A number of people had left the United States to settle in the Mexican northern provinces. The ban and other measures did not stop US citizens from migrating to Texas by the thousands, and by 1834, it was estimated that over 30,000 Anglos lived in Texas, compared to only 7,800 Mexican-born residents. Mexican authorities noted that slave reforms passed by the state were being ignored. By the end of 1835, almost 5,000 enslaved Africans and African Americans lived in Texas, making up 13 percent of the non-Indian population (The Mexican rules were widely disregarded and slavery remained in Texas until the end of the American Civil War). The attitudes of the immigrants prompted the Mexican-American War on February 2nd 1848, in which Mexico lost almost 55 percent of its territory to the United States drawing a bullshit line trough territory that used to be nothing but Mexico and some of these territories we know currently as Arizona,NewMexico,Texas,Nevada and of course California. @@chucochicano5180 parachutes are too costly for smugglers. So it would be a jump at 5000 ft without a chute. Better odds than the odds of not getting raped by coyotes if your a woman or girl. This is why 90-95% of ILLEGALS are men.
I currently live in El Paso. The new wall being built is a waste of resources. Few people cross over the already existing wall. So whats the point a constructing another another one? But we have a racist, ignorant president who doesn't know what the situation in the area is like. The landscape is beautiful.
Once upon a time Mexico was beautiful like the U.S now. And the U.S was like Mexico is now... things change eventually and hopefully the border will no longer be a border and we will share the land that was meant to be shared by all humans
....maybe one day, but for now as a Democrat I can only stand back and watch the president do what he thinks is right. Take a look at the Berlin wall, it went down just like any wall can. Trumps wall won't be up forever I pray.
On camera that is some 50 ft back from the fence makes fence look small but use the workers for comparison. Average person is 5 ft to 6 ft. So that fence is easily 40 ft tall if not more. Even 90% of young, fit people can't scale a 30 ft wall. Also digging under this won't be easy as its easily detectable. Also Egypt has figured out how to stop tunnelers as they have lots in the Gaza strip. They simply flood the tunnels trapping and killing those in it
Trust me, that will not be an easy wall to get over. Some determined little bastard could do it be it will keep the numbers down dramatically making it easier to manage the little bastards.
10 million dollars a mile that is a lot of money it only costed when a million dollars per miles to put a raised interstate through Glen wood canyon on i-70
Look.. I'm all for the wall, but the language I see in the comments to describe other human beings is anti Christian. Yes, we can agree immigration needs to be done legally, but there is no need to demonize everyone that is trying to make a better life for themselves and their family... Just like you would if the shoe was on the other foot

God bless all our Border Patrol Agent's that in Frontline on our U.S.BORDERS Honor First thank you for a job well done God bless our U.S.Nation and our walls & Gates God bless our President Trump 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸❤❤❤☝️
I read some comments about the price. The only attack on USA soil was not a failure of our armed forces but a failure of the immigration system as I believe 19 of the 22 bombers were on "visas". We will spend 15 billion dollars for one aircraft carrier to protect shipping lanes and our friends in far away places. But to tighten up security on our borders, we wont spend a dime? We have Hundreds of thousands troops protecting places like Germany, South Korea and Japan, but we cant protect our own border?
Did they even test the wall to make sure it's hard to climb through it? Looks like the same existing wall, NOT the concrete ones I saw months ago with the round thing on top! I heard congress forced Trump to downgrade those initial options.
He'll it still looks like all I need is a 24-foot extension ladder two of them one to climb one to pull up and put over or hell just one ladder they climb to the top sit up there for the ladder over put it on the other side and climb down that wall is not tall enough
Fences/barriers according to US Border Patrol provide 2 functions: 1) Impede incursions (delay the time to cross to better able to nab them. 2) Deter attempts (some people simply wont bother)... US Border Patrol says it's 90% effective. Hauling two 30' plus ladders up to that bollard wall will be spotted quickly by Border Patrol. And have you ever climbed a ladder over 20'? Shaky and somewhat scary. Think of climbing a 30' plus ladder...
what a beautiful fence God bless you no body can stand you are God's send continue your good job president Trump they forever remember your good work. God bless you

Pull prison inmates from prison and have them build the wall even faster ! Free labor !
With those two contracts, what else do u need!!
Thats great but whats being done to prevent tunnels being dug?
Egypt flood tunnels dug by the Hamas. It collapses and drowns the diggers.
Sounds like a fine idea
AIRPLANES + VISA = free life in U.S

@@jwing9185 who said you were jumping on just get a plane to EP and just stay its easy
I currently live in El Paso. The new wall being built is a waste of resources. Few people cross over the already existing wall. So whats the point a constructing another another one? But we have a racist, ignorant president who doesn't know what the situation in the area is like. The landscape is beautiful.
Kahlil Sykies what do you suggest dumbass ???
Once upon a time Mexico was beautiful like the U.S now. And the U.S was like Mexico is now... things change eventually and hopefully the border will no longer be a border and we will share the land that was meant to be shared by all humans
....maybe one day, but for now as a Democrat I can only stand back and watch the president do what he thinks is right. Take a look at the Berlin wall, it went down just like any wall can. Trumps wall won't be up forever I pray.
So how many Mexican Americans are working on the wall ?
I thought it would be taller, it dosn't look that hard to go over
A woman with children can't climb that....that's what the wall is for to stop the next generation of little bastards ....and breeders.....
Optical illusion. Looks much bigger in person. Also can be made taller later with additional top plates.
your house doesn't look hard to break into
On camera that is some 50 ft back from the fence makes fence look small but use the workers for comparison.
I WANT A WALL NOT A FENCE!!!!
It's a bollard WALL.
It is a reinforced barrier that you can see through. It is better than a concrete wall. Very high tech and sturdy as hell.
Keep on building 😁

Daniel Tafoya “inmature”? Never heard of that. Liberals are so f-ing stupid. My proof? Look above.
So the open steel tubes will fill up with water and rust out from the inside = yes?
No! After the bollard fence is installed, rebar and then concrete is poured into the tubes.
I always wanted to know who build the wall in my border city, and know I'm satisfied
Law Breakers NOT WELCOME. ......We do embrace LEGAL immigration.
I commend you all involved,build ,build build. Thank you. Legal,legal,legal I m m I g r a t I o n
What the Hell Happen to the 30 foot wall requirement ??? WTF!! a 10 year old can climb over that little wall.... Hahahahahahahahaha
So a grabbing hook and thirty foot of rope and over they go?
Russell Weaver I mean really, is this the best design PHD engineers came up with?
Russell Weaver oh, I think the level, fair and overdue tariffs on incoming Mexican goods should offset the cost....
That's where the well spaced video cameras and armed security will come in. It won't just be a wall.
As long as you're not an illegal immigrant, that's OK.
George Mecek now they'll just get those RC helicopters that can lift a person up and just fly over the wall lol
A 10 million dollar 1mile fence from the army engendering lol
Yep i live in El Paso and although most of the city is liberal i rock my Trump shirt and like to visit the wall.
this town is way too Democratic ... i voted for Cruz thinking this is statewide, not local, glad Beto lost. (for outsiders, Beto O'Rourke was our Congressman (House, not Senate) until his ego got control of him and he decided being a lowly little House of Reps member wasn't good enough for him ...)
@@serenityrahn5656 I have a story about how liberal this place is my brother who is in middle school had a Trump shirt on and told him to take it off which sadley he did and there were kids acording to him that were wearing Beto shirts that just shows unfair the city is.
That isn't the wall. Lol a Thats a fence that has been around for years. The first border fence similar to this was first built in 90's in San Diego and there is more fences like this one across the border. (580 miles of fence)
Good job keep building that wall!!!!!!

@@DundyMuffs In 1824 Mexico’s authoritarian ruler Agustín de Iturbide enacted a colonization law authorizing the Mexican federal government to allow legal immigration into Texas.
All of those states used to be absolutely Mexico! so now you have people who are indigenous here who were made foreigners on there own land.
Mexicans form part of the U.S. history. We have the right to be in this land.
America is not a country it's a continent.
I don't know what's more criminal; crossing over a borderline of a country looking for the economic opportunity that allows you to work and earn or... going to another land across an ocean, taking over land killing &pushing its native people into concentrated areas, creating a trail of tears, deceiving other people of their true intentions and really trying to collect all these peoples gold to take it to their royal families killing"civilizing" them as they settle &conquer, or also bringing along a group of people who they used to perform hard labor of fields with no pay other than food, roof, lynching, shooting, cutting, burning!!!
They will probably make tunnels now.
Yay the wall goes up and our taxes too!
i could be over that wall in less than a minute
Buck Hensley...No you couldn’t!!! I’ll bet you’re 300 lbs of video game playing trash sitting in your moms basement just talking shit!
A blowtorch or 20' ladder and A rope and your on the other side. This has to be 30'+ and concrete!!
Not perfect, but better than nothing. Also need, cameras, patrols, legislation, and diligence.
God bless all our Border Patrol Agent's that in Frontline on our U.S.BORDERS Honor First thank you for a job well done God bless our U.S.Nation and our walls & Gates God bless our President Trump 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸❤❤❤☝️
Needs a secondary barrier.
Installing already rusted metal. Lets see how long that lasts
Bout damn time!
El No Paso haha
Wow what a strong work
Now plug it in to 400 volts
Keep going! Electrify the fence after it's built would ya.
Think of climbing a 30' plus ladder...
i see a lot of Mexicans working on the wall
what a beautiful fence God bless you no body can stand you are God's send continue your good job president Trump they forever remember your good work. God bless you
Just to point out, that wall was there before Trump. But Trump is not that bad, in my opinion he is cool in some way.
35' foot ladder n "vamonos"
THAT LITTLE WALL IS NOT GOING TO STOP NOBODY NOT HIGH ENOUGH
Go ahead and climb over it. I'll film it for you and put it on my channel.
THEY STILL GONNA JUMP THAT WALL
Splat
The POTUS said the fence should have been painted to help avoid corrosion...makes sense. Ugly fence.
Looks like the Berlin Wall has been resurrected.
Although I'm still for the wall at the Southern border, I still think the Mexicans are still going to find their way into the country, either above, through an unintentionally left open/unlocked gate or under it.
