  • I get to work on my 1994 Mercedes SL600 and remove and replace the two Spheres or "Balls" on the front suspension of this R129 V12 beast in order to fix the bouncy ride...firm ride can also be a symptom...

Thanks Rizo!! I'm having fun with this. I'm 1/3 of the way to 1,000 subs which is cool because I want to livestream a Cars and Coffee in the Cave and I can't do that until I get 1k subs. Thanks for watching!!!

Hey Oates thanks for the feedback! You are right on. I've had a few people ask what the symptoms were so next time I will definitely go over the issue with the car and the reason for the repair. Thanks again!

I have a 1994 sl600 as well! I've been having trouble with it overheating since ive purchased it. I've changed the clutch fan ,the thermostat and upper rad hose. Im at a stand still and praying its not the worst. I was told they have a self bleeding system but I've still put it on an incline and tried. I love the car to death but I don't know what else to do. Thank you for the videos you have posted for future reference. If you have any links they would be greatly appreciated! Thank you again for your time!

I would look towards the water pump...Can you confirm that it is circulating coolant? Any leaks near the pump? Is it rattling or making noise? Also upper and lower radiator hoses should be warm after a little idling...if not it may be a clogged or corroded radiator...Sorry your having trouble - thanks for checking out my channel!

I’ve recently acquired a 96 sl600 and would like to replace the spheres but can’t seem to find a place that supplies the front ones. Where did you acquire your front nitrogen spheres. Btw, I’m in Mboro, not too far from you. Would love to hookup if we can.

Hey Mr Cassidy!!! Love the videos!! Can you do a video on replacing the ABC Pulsation Dampeners? Is it possible to change them WITHOUT removing the entire tandem pump? I'll be watching!! Thanks!!

Love these videos, i have a 95 SL600 and nobody posts any repair videos on these cars lol. I’m having an issue where my front suspension sits very low but the back suspension is completely fine. The car was sitting for a while before i purchased it but there were absolutely no hydraulic leaks on any of the shocks or at the pump. Tried starting it for a little to get the fluid circulated, tried adding some fluid (it was low) and the front suspension hasn’t come up at all. My guess is the shocks but i’m not too sure. When you press the button to raise the shocks the back shocks don’t move at all. Any advice is appreciated thanks man keep up the great videos

Hate to say it but it's probably that valve block that I replaced in the video with the ADC pump. It's the part that I sent out to Klaus at Top Hydraulics. He repairs them for about $450. Good news is it's a piece of cake to take off and replace. I bet the seals inside your valve block have gone bad... Thanks for watching! There will brbe a new video soon on this car where I rewire the mass air flow sensor harnesses...good fun:-)

@@cassidycarcave2781 Was it the valve block or the pump that solved your issue? Mines doesn’t seem to be physically leaking but i’m not too sure. Car basically has the front tires inside of the fender well

@@elijahlane411 for mine it was the valve block. I replaced the pump also just because I wanted the car to be right but my car had all four fenders basically resting on the tires and while it wasn't physically leaking outside I'm sure the valve block was bad and was not allowing the system to hold pressure. Hope this helps and thanks for watching!

@@cassidycarcave2781 For me my rear suspension is completely fine. Just the front suspension won’t raise at all. The whole tire is pretty much inside of the fender. Tried adding fluid (it was low) and revving the engine to create some pressure at the pump and the front suspension wouldn’t raise an inch. Took off the passenger side front wheel and the valve block had absolutely no leaks. The boot on the front shock was ripped and the inside of the fender seemed to be covered in dried up oil of some sort. Thinking about just converting it to coilovers from the SL500 of this year and plugging the hydraulic lines
