This Man Can Save Hollywood

- Hello and welcome to the premiere episode of The UnScene!
Hollywood is a strange place. Diversity and woke moralizing are becoming poor substitutes for timeless lessons that speak to the broader human condition. With all of this nonsense going on, Tom Cruise’s movies skirt right past the toxic political climate. Even though he might have strong convictions, he never feels compelled to add them into his movies in an attempt to posture at his lowly audience. Could the Tom Cruise approach be the key to saving Hollywood?

People don't *just* want to be entertained. They want to be edified, too.
Maverick told American audiences that it might not be too late for us, individually and as a people. It's not too late to run a new race. It's not too late to win the good fight. It's not too late to start a family or tell someone you love them.
Maverick was a billion-dollar success because it made us feel like we're going to be ok in the end.
insert comment about "american imperialism" #69696969
@@acethemain7776 🤣
It's also a symptom of a larger problem. The entire film industry is in a state of arrested development. That's why we keep seeing stuff like Velma, Top Gun 2, Cobra Kai, and much more that are sequels, reimaginings, reboots, etc. of older properties.
@@CarcharodonMeg Awesome point. And the notion of "American imperialism" is a *_Leftist idea_* going back to the early 19th century. Leftists have been chipping away at the Constitution since at least as early as 1791 when jilted fanboy, Alexander Hamilton pretended to "love" the Constitution in order to change it, later. "American imperialism" was the brainchild of the fans of Jacobinism (precursor to Communism). So glad Thomas Jefferson snapped out of his fetish for all things French, including the Jacobin nonsense. Leftists have one key goal: *_A godless, One-World government_* -- a goal established May 1, 1776, celebrated every year by Communists worldwide. Acolytes of the Carbonari infiltrated America and helped to push the Leftists' "Manifest Destiny" theme. So, when Leftists complain about "American imperialism," they're really just ridiculing themselves. Amazing the number of Leftists who built up armies to conquer Central American nations as part of this "Manifest Destiny" nonsense. *_An article on FEE's website_* made me aware of how Leftist presidents, like James Polk *_created wars_* to help push along the Left's expansionist plans. Polk's actions directly resulted in these United States acquiring the Rio Grande River as the southern border to Texas, plus a whole lot more land farther West.

Glad to know this channel still SLAPS!
I think to summarize Tom Cruise is with the line in Top Gun: Maverick -
“Despite your best efforts, you refuse to die.”
Really enjoyed this video. My wife and I can't stand 19 out of 20 new movies or TV series (from the past 5 years) for the exact reasons described in the video. Stories take a back seat to favor morals or lesson. Additionally, modern top-studio writers for some reason can't write likeable characters: snarky, cynical, can't-do-wrongers with zero charisma. We do watch whatever Tom Cruise releases, never disappoints (exact for that Mummy movie thing). Again: fantastic video!
All he did was act in that Mummy reboot. Alex Kurtzman was in charge of it.
Me and my mom were talking about movies we've liked lately, and we both loved top gun maverick. She said "I didn't want to like it because tom cruise is crazy and all, but damn he was great in that."
Your mom sees the person Tom Cruise wanted to be, as played by him in the movies, and I don't blame her.
Moreover TC gave us a fresh breath in the age of the Woke.
Commenting to help this channel out with the algorithm.
And just for some actual engagement, much as I dislike some of his personal beliefs, he's a great actor and frankly always has been.
@BattleAngelFan just like he did the internet
His movies knows what the audience is here for... Tom Cruise on a motorcycle, Tom running, Tom doing yet another batshit crazy stunt in the name of entertaiment. And i love it❤️
Honestly, openly Advocating for Transition surgery for kids and CRT was the last straw for me.
Hollywood is messed up, and it needs to go bankrupt.
Sadly they don't care about going bankrupt. (sorry) Here is why.
Blackrock and Vanguard are tools used to demoralize society by destroying all escape, movies, games, recreation parks, women/men relationships, families, etc......
And both are the main shareholders of pretty much all movies studios since 2015. It's a miracle some movies pass trough the crack.
Oh and they don't care about loosing money, so don't wait for the proverbial "go woke, go broke" cause they make money in other ventures specifically to control the entertainment industry and kill any joy it used to provide.
@@Flitalidapouet And this is why I fear for the future.
Can you show me where that happened?
@@bdslade Are you Moviebob?
@@Boredasfuck29 sorry you’re offended.
Modern Hollywood makes me hate movies. Tom Cruise makes me love movies.
Not bad for a cultist. :)
He may be a nut IRL but he's a professional, one of the last, @@dreamshooter90. That means he's definitionally not a cultist. 😉
@@Azraiel213 I do believe that his church is a cult. Scientology is no joke.
@@Azraiel213 But yeah. His talent and professionalism speaks for itself.
@@Azraiel213 Tom's a little out there but I've yet to see him on any Epstein flight logs, unlike all the rest of the A listers that people tend to hold in high regard
Apparently, Scientology is still respected in Tinsle Town.
Perfect breakdown on “Top Gun: Maverick.” It really wasn’t THAT great, but it was a heck of a lot of fun, has a solid plot, and character development. Most modern movies lack all three. The proof is in the box office receipts: we like good stories a LOT, especially when we’re starved for them.
Tom Cruz's deeply held belief that motorcycle chases are cool just happens to be one shared by a lot of people.
*Glad this channel's back! This narrator is good, but i'll miss the old one :/*
This right here is why he is my hero. Tom makes movies for the audience. He knows what we want to see and is ready to put his own life on the line to give us that. It's why whenever he has a film in cinema it is a treat to watch.
Tom is trash. He screamed at everyone for not wearing masks
they forgot one movie that tom cruise was in in 2005
You need better heroes.
Tom is one of the last true-blue movie stars. Can't help but admire his work.
Nice to know this Chanel is continuing.
Tom cruise understand that people want to be entertained not be preached to shame.
Good to see a video from this channel.
Thanks for watching!
"Dad, Tom Cruise won't come out of the closet"
I like Tom Cruise movies and I know where people are coming from, what with some seriously boring and preachy woke movies being nominated, but many great and popular movies have been nominated at the Oscars these recent years. Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, True Grit, The Social Network, Moneyball, Django Unchained, 12 Years a Slave, The Wolf of Wall Street, American Sniper, Whiplash, Spotlight, Hell or High Water, Get Out, Vice, Parasite, The Father, Dune, etc.
It wouldn't be fair to disregard these films just because they don't have the same scope as movies like Top Gun do, not that Top Gun is less because it's "commercial" (all films are commercial), it is just a different story that demands different visuals, editing, music and mise en scène in general.
I can’t help but wonder if Tom Cruise’s ‘love’ for us comes from his devotion to the ministry of Scientology. I don’t trust him any more than I trust the rest of Hollywood
I haven't seen the movie but I feel Tom Cruise's Top Gun: Maverirch is to him what former co-star Paul Newman's The Color of Money was to him.
What I remember most of all about Top Gun Maverick, is that the first thing we hear, is Danger Zone. It's what everyone wanted, and we got it straight away, which also sets up that the movie is going to be the one you want, not try and be something it isn't.
Gotta give credit where its due. Tomkat's a mad man, he's way into Scientology and related L. Ron stuff, but that divide of business and personal life is damn hard with him. He could have produced and starred in a adaptation of one of Hubbard's texts, but he leaves Xenu and all that at home so he can make films people will watch.
You mean Cruise? He ditched Scientology a while back.
@@SirBlackReeds did he? Well that's some positive news
So glad FEE is doing these reviews, I really look forward to them. Nice video, keep em coming.
Nice to see your videos again!👍
I’m old enough to remember when everyone was dunking on Tom in the early 2000s. Scientology comes across as far less crazy than what modern progressives are screeching about.
Crazy to see this guy get a revival when so many other celebrities have thrown their respect in the dumpster for momentary twitter clout.
I love Tom Cruise mostly because he’s wacky and clearly loves what he does and is having fun! If you watch interviews with him he’s a little strange but he’s genuine. As far as I know he’s not a molester or some psychopath even though Scientology is… well yeah
Same
In Scientology no one is asked to accept anything as belief or on faith. That which is true for you is what you have observed to be true. An individual discovers for himself that Scientology works by personally applying its principles and observing or experiencing results.- Sounds good to me so far, it might not be perfect but a man's actions are according to his faith and his actions look good.
@@eu29lex16 That's the venire, the cover up, the sell pitch. In reality they treat people as commodities (except if you're a star), and the organization is a "pay to play" cult where you have to spend millions of dollars to access the last echelon. All the people who did it where dumbfounded the last secret is and alien story worthy of B Syfy series. But then they don't wanna lose face and pretend it was all worth it, hard to admit you got scammed of your money and 12 years of your life. Plus, if you get on their wrong side, they will persecute you EVERYWHERE, at your job, your house, they will perscute your neighbors ALL your family, FOR YEARS. But you avoid all of that if you're Tom Cruise.
@@Flitalidapouet You mean, religion doesn't need to have a god to be sinister?
@@EpicMiniMeatwad Religion and cult are not related. Knowing your definitions is a good starter point. Otherwise speaking is pointless.
I can't say I've ever called myself a Tom Cruise fan, though I do enjoy the movies he's in. However, I do love his work ethic. He respects the audience, he values authenticity and works hard, and he has a sense of humor; points I feel are a no-brainer in this line of work. You could say he's one of the few true professional actors left in the industry, and I've heard more than a few people say he very well could be the last legitimate movie star.
So, on the whole, even though he's never been a big name I gravitate to as a box office draw, I suppose I am a Tom Cruise fan after all.
But The Mummy reboot was shit. Not gonna sugar-coat it, there were so many problems with that movie.
All he did was act in that Mummy reboot. Alex Kurtzman was in charge of it.
This is the best channel.
IOW: The only measure of the quality of art is how much money it makes and true freedom is when there's only one kind of movie. How true!
Yep, Tommy earned my allegiance. TopGun is the only movie I paid to see in the last 3 years
Gotta give him credit for keeping it real.
Great video mate. Can somebody please help me with the name of that movie which is shown at the 5:28 mark. Where giants are looking back at a person. Thanks
It's from The Green Knight. Beautiful image, but just a tiny part in a superbly weird film.
*Top Gun was awesome.*
Awesome very well done video. Good to see FEE taking off again.,
Ofcourse FEE supports the well connected Scientologist! 🤣🤣🤡🤡
Very good video! Happy to see a new series on this channel that isn't just shorts. I hope that the content doesn't solely focus on anti-woke stuff though, I'm here for "Economic Education" so please keep it economics focused :)
Man, this wa actually really good. This channel still got a future:D
Great job on this one. Tom cruise movies are always timeless even in today's crazy identity politics landscape in Hollywood.
Thanks for releasing this video, keep more coming.
An upload 😮
Glad to see full videos from FEE are back.
No sofas were harmed during the making of this video
Tom Cruise and Dr Eric Berg. My favorite Scientologists out saving the world.
Great video!!
Thanks!
he creative talent in LA is unsurpassed...it needs to be used for other than cult purposes
It’s not just about political posturing. It’s the fact that the ideas being forced onto audiences are BAD.
He is back
FEE: No-one's forced at gunpoint to watch movies.
Government: Now that you mention it...
Tom cruise has had the best Hollywood Career. Each decade he always delivers a genuinely good movie that keeps you invested.
Well said.
Honestly, I'd be pleasantly surprised if I opened a Wakanda Forever case and found Air Bud instead.
While I loved Top Gun Maverick and like Tom Cruise as an actor, I have to disagree with you in one facet. He's a great actor, but has seemed to evolved to the point where he stars as himself in whatever movie he's in (probably because of type casting).
Tom Cruise in a spy movie. Tom Cruise in a dystopian sci-fi movie. Tom Cruise in an action movie.
Do I remember the names of his characters? Rarely. Do I remember his performance? Yes.
so glad to see FEE making videos again
Tom Cruise is said to b a nice guy but does have a temper. He's an amazing actor and even broke his ankle one time. He's got dyslexia, but he's also 5'7", and with that he could possible play Wolverine in mcu since in the comics, Logan is 5'5". No one could out do Hugh Jackman, but just a possibility for a role.
While I am not laying the politics at the feet of Cruise... Top Gun, while an entertaining action film... is military porn... pro war propaganda.
Don't forget folks... how badass and exciting policing the world is.
Please talk about Batman 2022, it’s messages about the past, how scars can give us strength, the class system & the dangers of vengeance are something we need right now
He's back...... HE'S BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cruise and Tarantino are the last of their breed, the superstar and the auteur director both of whom genuinely love films and to entertain.
💯
Welcome back, bro.
And in one moment, he returns.
Don't let him
Great video! Also, I think Tom Cruise's publicist owes you money now.
Seriously though, this was a great take on Hollywood.
Please recommend this and other videos from Fee to friends, relatives and the little old lady across the street? This channel should have 500k subscribers by the end of 2023 and a million or more by 2025, that's how good it is.
Strange World was a lot better than Buzz Lightyear, but the story was pretty standard as far as missing dad explorer, found dad, world isn't what we expect.
You wouldn't want Cruise to push Scientology on people, very true.
Awesome
I love Tom Cruise now and forever.
Way to pick up the torch and carry on
This is very exciting
👍
Thank you! Somebody had to say it. Tom Cruise is the GOAT.
Moral of the story: He makes good movies.
Nicolas Cage doesn't spout politics in his movies as well
RRR made the scales drop from many eyes. Yeah it had goofy over the top dance and fight sequences but at the core was a compelling story. Too many Hollywood films have no story or the same story over and over (marvel)
I used to me a huge movie buff. Not anymore. Not with modern movies.
same here. shows, sitcoms, etc. but not much anymore. old school stuff mostly for me.
He's right about antidepressants
Days of Thunder mentioned. Celebrate
Rubbin's RACIN'!
Soo... new voice... same wide perspective and strong principles.
Season 2 is upon us BOIS!!!
wow - good story
>Wakanda Forever vs Air Bud
>Implying Air Bud's worse
Big mistake™.
UA-cam CHANGED my notifications settings for this channel to NONE!!!
Edit: AND WONT LET ME CHANGE IT!!!!
I'd say Cruise loves his paycheck more than he loves us... but he's just aware of us enough to know he needs to avoid offending us if he wants to keep that paycheck coming.
ill admit i like tom cruise movies and i like a24 movies
So true well said if only Hollywood would listen they would make far more bank. I'm happy to pay for a movie on dvd but i won't pay for a advert on politics or ideology.
The not-so-subtle implication that homosexuality = politics and not human rights undercuts everything you have to say. The academy sucks, but the claim that Cruise's works don't show politics crumbles the second you realize that Top Gun is the purest definition of propaganda, the military even got to edit the script. The implication in this video is that entertaining movies are the best kind of movie, which is linked to your inherent bias that money = quality (that bias is pretty obvious if you look at the channel who made this video). That implication is simply anti-art at best and dishonest at worst.
I understand that the FEE is both a conservative and libertarian think-tank, but your videos could be very informative to everyone if they remained neutral as opposed to this political piece of propaganda. You really do make some excellent points about Hollywood and hollow messages from movies that pander to the current movements rather than tell great stories, but as someone who personally skews left on the political spectrum (real left not American "left"), this video is much too easy to disregard and ignore. To post a comment I was satisfied with, I had to take quite a bit of time to process all the points made in the video which makes it inaccessible to everybody but those who skew right and subscribe to the politics of those who fund your institution.
You can make excellent videos for everyone, I know it, but it takes quite a bit of effort.
HIGHWAY TO THE DANGER ZONE!
Man I can't unsee Christian Bale when I look at Tom cruise
Wow a real video
Oh shiiiiiit FEE is back!
Before he gets too old I hope he tries to do at least one western. Never seen him do a real western. The Last Samurai was cool but he can do way better than that.
Not just Tom Cruise. Also Jamie Foxx and Mark Wahlberg. They're not topping anyone's lists like Daniel Day-Lewis but by God they can act.
He was, in a way, right about anti-depressants. Believe it or not. I'm glad he doesn't ever push a narrative.
In what way?
Damn you, you've gotten me to like Tom Cruise somewhat. :P
Jonathan Colton: Tom Cruise Crazy sums it up pretty well.
Also, because the man hasn't aged a day in like, thirty years!
Well said, Sir! Seeing Top Gun: Maverick made me remember how much I love being excited for a film in the theatre.
I wish he'd go back to doing the odd drama or two here and there.
Not gonna lie. Been a fan all my life. Dude's a national treasure.
