- Few places on the planet can offer us a clear and complete glimpse of our evolutionary history. Many of them are found in East Africa, and Olduvai Gorge in Tanzania is certainly one of these. The documentary, produced by the School of Paleoanthropology of the University of Perugia, is a tribute to this wonderful place.

Very interesting documentary. Learned many new things and shared those with my students.
Nice video. Thank you. I’d love to go there and volunteer.
First discovered about this by reading National Geographic as a kid back in the sixties.
Thanks for the great exposition
Amazing doc. Thank you so much for posting.
The cultural leap necessary is a spiritual one.
Uh, no. That is counterproductive.
That is a silly statement.
Olduvai is portrayed in 2001: as A SPACE ODYSSEY as the place where THE DAWN OF MAN took place 4,000,000 years ago!
Heres a new idea, what if the earliest hominids (4, 5, maybe 10 million years ago) were bipedal all along from day 1? But we were so violent and deadly due to our bipedalness allowing for handheld weapons to be swung with greater force, we drove all the splinter groups of great apes' ancestry up into the trees for protection where they developed hands and feet for climbing. Hominins didnt come down from the trees, we drove the hominids up into the trees.
24:37 C4 carbon fixation or the Hatch-Slack pathway is one of three known photosynthetic processes of carbon fixation in plants. The other two known photosynthetic processes of carbon fixation in plants are C3 carbon fixation, and Crassulacean acid metabolism (CAM).
Very well made video, thumbs up from me
olduvai is unique due to its discovories
We are a species in decline. That is a new view. Wow 😮
My dog didn't like the wind sound in the intro.. 🙉
Nicely done.
Humans were always that
Nice
Really wish foreign language would not only be transcribe, but also be translated because it’s hard keeping up with the reading when the people speak
We all came from Tanzania and emigrated elsewhere, that’s why Tanzania is called the cradle of mankind. Case closed!
MightyLumber Mighty cute fairy tale ya got there. But it’s ok that you believe in it. Kinda like Santa 🎅 Ho ho ho!
So if we look at what the Scholar's Union tells us
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Olduvai_Gorge
the more human-like homo habilis was replaced by the more ape-like australopithicus, in contradiction to their own evolution chart.
We see from the layers of sediment in the "monolith" how Darwinist Holy Land ended at the bottom of the ocean.
Kenya is the Crandle of Humankind(Turkana Boy)
So good but coulda done without all the wind noises lol
After that one man moved to middle East to be created
Is the law
"On" Andromeda? Andromeda is a galaxy.
Right
You don't run into a carcass on the savanna without a lion or other large carnivore guarding it. So you would need a weapon. So if if they had a weapon it probably means they already had hunting strategies. There is something very wrong about that scavenging theory.
To much Italians in documentary. They could have shown more fossils and illustrations or art works of prehistoric men!!!
I know That Evolution Is Not Linear
7 billion declining species members. Let’s not blow ourselves up.
This Olduval-The Cradle of humankind is in Africa but we only see some robbers unAfrican people in the document can you be positive for what you doing.
What a stupid remark.
Bullshit.
I'll believe it when someone can tell me why we all should have began in Africa but no one can.
Just because it's the site of the oldest remains found? So far.being the operative words, so far.

PLEASE REMAKE THIS DOCUMENTARY
WITHOUT THIS
ANNOYING COLONIZER NARRATION
Cradle of mankind ? Africa ? Really ??
Can we ever have our history without celebrating white scientists. JUST THE FACTS PLEASE
Dear Sir, did you watch the movie? Olduvai is a place in which scientists from all over the world worked and are still working, including excellent Tanzanian scholars. I don't understand your comment.
Marco Cherin yup! Exactly
You sound like a idiot
:D it is history of humans and the only thing you took from the document is the color of the skin of those scientists? Im sure you are not white, you are not a scientist either. You should celebrate scientists for discovering and explaining our evolution no matter what the color of their skin is. You are stupid and uneducated racist.
You were half correct I do remember as a child back in the 70s that Louis leakey's team discovered the first remains in Olduvai Gorge but it was not Louis and he was not actually credited with the original find he's the one that brought our attention to it! Or am I thinking about Mary?
Zyngantropis?
