The Killing Curse (avada) being close to abracadabra is meant to hint at a violent history between wizards and muggles- the curse was used in conflicts so much that it became "the magic word"
Is that information in the books, or something Rowling has said? I don't recall that, but it's been ages since I've read the books, so I'm just curious where it came from :)
I would like to note that Avadakedavra in Aramaic means "I kill with the word", while abracadabra translates as "I create with the word". Just an interesting fact
Very well put, everyone is familiar to old west scenarios where everyone got a gun and are ready to use it. In the old days immagine just like bullets were shot, Avada Kedavras were shot too...
AVADA KADAVRA latin for 'become a corpse.. It's the killing curse, it servers the souls from the body instantly. That's the spell no one has ever survived..until Lebron
Dobby is really important in this book. It is sad that there was no time for them to include it in the film. The trio learns how food is cooked and how everything is always cleaned in the school and how there are thousands of house elves working in the school. They are kind of slaves and it is really interesting because Dobby is the first free elf hired in the school. The trio goes to see him often and he is the one that helped Harry with the gillyweed that helped him to breath underwater. He is one of my favourite characters. I’m sad how little he is portrayed in the films because he is really important. Harry grows really fond of him and he is loyal to Harry for saving him from the Malfoys family. There are fun things with the house-elves. Hermione even created a society to liberate the house-elves (Society for the Promotion of Elfish Welfare - SPEW), which they didn’t appreciate because they are happy in Hogwarts.
@@kjurpjdpihe9096 Yes, I understand that, most likely, this was done in order to save money. Because if Dobby had appeared, the writers would have had to tell about the house elves at Hogwarts, and that would have led to Winky's story. And, therefore, about Hermione's activities. I understand that, but it still seems to me that in the movies Neville is treated like some kind of comedic character who can be bullied. I am particularly annoyed by the scene in the second film where he faints. He is literally one of the best students in this lesson, the teacher loves him, he knows perfectly well how to take care of plants. But then he loses consciousness because he was afraid of the plant (!!!), and the teacher just waves him off. I hate this fragment with all my heart, seriously (I apologize for the mistakes in the text, I don't know English very well and use a translator to explain what I mean)

Cedric really was an exceptional young wizard. Fleur had Madame Maxime closely mentoring her and manipulating her chances, Krum had Karkaroff doing much the same, Harry had Barty Crouch Jr clearly fixing everything in his favour (all three of these students were also exceptional too) BUT Cedric didn’t have that. Harry helped give him a heads up about dragons but he had to figure out how to deal with that alone. Cedric figured out the egg because Barty/Moody gave him a hint (only so Harry would get the same hint too), but Cedric figured out how to survive underwater alone. He handled the maze pretty bloody well alone for a long time, even with an Imperius-ed Krum after him. Barty-as-Moody even mentioned Cedric is very skilled in his first chat with Harry after the ferret fiasco. It was well established that Cedric was on his way to being a greatly skilled wizard, well-liked and respected for his personality too.
Love the Neville support! One thing I think you may have misunderstood is that in the memory of the trial, they said that Snape WAS a Death-Eater, but turned spy for the good guys before Voldemort's downfall. If you guys caught that and I'm wrong, I apologize, it just seemed like you missed it and I wanted to make sure you guys are aware of that moving forward. :) Good video! Neville was the best date for the ball. He is kind and willing to dance. Personally consider him first pick. Plus he was focused on the girl’s personality not looks. He asked hermione because she is smart and always helps him in classes then when she turned him down because she already agreed to go with Krum, Neville asks ginny again because she nice as well as because she’s a 3rd year and wasn’t allowed to go to the ball unless asked by someone in 4th year and up.
@@tracim3080 She was surprised to learn that Harry had no date and seemed upset when she said that she had accepted to go with Neville already. So she did think that Harry had a date
#RIPCED So a couple of things they didn't show, basically the whole tournament was rigged for Harry to "win". Like in the maze, when Krum was attacking everyone except Harry was because he was being mind controlled, which is one of the unforgivable curses they showed in the beginning.
Y’all are hilarious 🤣 The reaction to Voldemort transforming sent me. Brandon saying “papa potter” literal tears. I can’t wait for the rest of the Harry Potter movie reactions.
Btw. Harry did "start" in the crib. Movie just skipped it, cause especially those later movies are plot packed and books are also only getting longer. Which kinda sucks, because I do love the actors for Dursleys. In this one Weasleys Floo'ed into their house to pick Harry for the rest of the Summer. The funny bit was that after the mail fiasco from first movie - Dursleys closed their fireplace off. So we have a scene of Weasleys getting stuck inside the walls exploding the wall to get inside living room (also twins messed with Dudley, by testing some of their prank items). Btw. we technically already met Cedric Diggory in last movie. He was supposed to be the Seeker for Hufflepuff (they recasted him). He was the one playing against Harry during the Dementor attack. It's also one of the reasons why there is tension between him and Harry (on top of them both being Hogwarts' champion).
The people put into the lake to be rescued were put into a safe sleep by Dumbledore. If they weren't rescued, an official would have taken them out. The mermaids agreed to participate in the tournament and were just watching and were almost like refs and gave the judges the scoop as to what happened in the water, which is why Harry got 2nd place
13:53 the editing choice to put Brandon’s side eye close up with the bell was perfect. 48:00 lol. Yall reaction to baby Voldemort was hilarious 53:49 so wrong for that one lol. Great reaction as usual. Looking forward to the next one.
rons biggest fear from the first book was being the least remembered Weasley brother, hes the youngest of 5 boys who all made their names at hogwarts and he struggled with finding the thing that would make him stand out, thats kinda the reasoning behind ron getting to butt hurt about harry getting into the tournament, the movie however does not do a very good job at explaining this.
Victor Krum was bewitched with the imperius curse, means that he was force to do things he didn't wanted that is why he attack Fleur and was about to attack Cedric. The reason why Harry knows and Cedric didn't is because Barty Crouch Jr. faking being Mad Eye Moody in the books make all 4th grades including Harry resist the imperius curse, so Harry knew how people look under that curse.
The way you guys never even read the books but are soooooo locked in. I'll stop at that cause I don't wanna ruin thing. Thanks again for reacting to HP, hope you are enjoying the journey (also at some point, IF YOU WANT TO, please take a test so we know what houses y'all belong to 🙏🏾)
I actually don't remember if this was explained in the movies, but the dragons were nesting mothers and the golden eggs were amongst real eggs for each champion. That's why they were so murderous.
"You got my blood but you aren't my family" - Funnily enough, Harry and Voldemort actually ARE distant cousins, so technically they are family. This isn't ever mentioned in the movies so not a spoiler, but they share some ancestry.
In the Goblet of Fire novel they showed what happened in the Quidditch World Cup in enormously great detail. It was so detailed that I was able to perfectly see it all in my mind as I read every word. Even though I had been watching the movies in the theater each time it was released in theaters back in the day, it was the Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire book that I read first out of all the novels in the series. This novel was what made me into a diehard fan. Life for me was never the same again. LOL! Needless to say, I had to go back into the bookstore after reading Goblet of Fire and buy all the books and read them all. I did have the great fortune of going to three different Harry Potter midnight book release parties for the final books at Barns and Nobles and the Scholastic Books store in New York City where I live. It was like going to a New Years Eve party complete with countdown. LOL! 😁🤓 🏰🧙🪄📚❤🔥
This was my first real entry into the franchise too! I watched the first 3 movies then read Goblet of Fire, and the rest of the series, then I went back and re-read the first three books.
I held off as long as I could, swearing I wasn’t going to follow all those people that went crazy over this series. It was this book that I finally caved in and went back to read all the previous ones. I think I was lucky that I held out for as long as I did because there was four years between book four and the release of “The Order of the Phoenix”. I had to wait only 6 mos for it. Ironically, the last book took several years to finish because I didn’t want the story to end. I set it down and walked away not wanting the magic to end. Atlas, all good things do come to an end.
(Minor Spoiler: they dont really explain this very well in the movies) The reason Neville was so shook by the torture curse "Crucio" was because Death Eaters (one of them being Sirius' cousin Bellatrix) tortured his parents with the Cruciatus until they were basically vegetables. They're permanent residents of the Curse Ward at St Mungos Hospital.
This is a legit spoiler. This detail is revealed in a later film (OoTP, after DA meeting in the RoR). Dumbledore also touched on the fate of his parents after a pensieve scene in this film. Like the filmmakers, us book readers have to assume the audience is smart enough to make the connections with the breadcrumbs dropped throughout.
@@chechantal Ive seen dozens of Order of the Pheonix reactions and people always misunderstand that scene with Neville because the dialogue is extremely vague. Also its a minor spoiler because it has little to no bearing on the plot, its character background world building.

The old man that came out of the light streams wasn’t Harry’s grandad, it was the old grounds caretaker that was killed in the beginning of the movie. What happened was called “prior incantatum” that forced Voldemort’s wand to show what it had last done, so the ghosts of the last people Voldemort had killed came out. In the books the old man says something like “keep fighting, boy! That man killed me!”
Cedric is mentioned several times in the previous books, and Robert does make an on screen appearance in one of the previous 3 movies, but he's in the background and they aren't talking about him so easily missed

You said GPS. Harry actually had a GPS spell of sorts. He could say "Point me" and the wand would show him true north. That way he could decide which direction he needed to go, or whether he was too far afield. There were actually obstacles in the maze, one where a part of the maze turned your perspective upside down. The best way to defeat that was to close your eyes and trust the fact that you could feel that your feet were still on the ground, and then you ran through. And the cup was guarded by both a giant spider (which both Harry and Cedric fought and defeated, and a sphinx who posed a riddle.
In the part where Harry fights voldy and the souls come out the guy y’all were calling “papa potter” and “Harry’s granddaddy” was the old property manager man who was killed in the beginning
I'm happy to see you reacting to this saga. I'm from Brazil and I'm following with you. Thank you for giving Harry Potter a chance and bringing it to us. Thank you, guys!
It is so funny you mention Dobby, cuz he was actually in the book pretty heavy for this book. Also, one of the biggest changes from the book to the movie was Dumble's attitude. Dumbledore is really a calm character for the most part, which makes the moment he attacks the fake Moody more powerful because you never would expect him to dsiplay that type of demeanor, but in the movie they made him louder and more aggressive. But great reaction; I died when after Cedric died, you said "Shawty single now." Keep going!
It is important to note that from this film onwards, the original story is cut or sometimes changed, because the books are too long for a film. But, even if some may contradict me, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is a book to read, because certainly, the best of the franchise. I still remember reading it, when I was 8/9 years old, during the summer holidays, by the sea, on my beach towel.

People werent very happy with this because they cut out a lot. There was a whole storyline involving house elves, Dobby makes a return, and you get to meet an "alcoholic" house elf. The first part of the book does take part in the Dursley's, and Harry is once again picked up by the Weasleys.

Regarding the second task in the lake, the ones under water were never in any danger so even if Harry hadn't saved them, they would have been fine. The champions in the tournament were only compelled to save them because they were the only ones unaware they weren't in any danger until after the task was complete.
You noticed a "dead ferret" on Mad Eye Moody at the ball. I've NEVER noticed that! But I know what it was; he's wearing a kilt, which has a "sporran" attached, a pouch of leather or fur. It was a ferret sporran!
The reason why Voldemort’s new body has snake-like nose is because his pet Snake Nagini used her venom to help create the a temporary body for her master alongside the Unicorn blood.

I really love Goblet of Fire because it's a huge turning point in the series. This is the first time anyone dies in the movies and they have not 1 but 3 deaths: the old caretaker, Bartey Crouch, and Cedric. While in the books Bartey Crouch isn't killed he is just Imperioused(mind control spell), still this is when people start dying and Voldemort gets his body. Can't wait to see how you guys see how this all unfolds in the last 4 movies.
The little ferret on Mad Eye's legs at the ball is sort of part of traditional Scottish dress. He's scottish and is wearing a kilt, and usually you wear a sporran (bag) around the waist. Usually there isn't a ferret thing there ngl. Usually its a fringe sorta thing

In the book Rita publishes a lot more articles about everyone and they can't figure out how she keeps over hearing conversations, well she's an animagus and turns into a lady bug, her glasses is a clue to that but didn't make the movies, she also actively played with Cedric butt
Idk if y'all noticed but if you rewatch Chamber of Secrets where Dobby was set free, Lucius was chanting the spell "Avada-" meaning he was so angry that he actually was about to kill Harry HAHAHAHA. But it was confirmed that the spell chaanting wasn't in the script and just kept it.
In the books, the twins are absolutely hilarious. To the point of having to put the books down to breathe. They're sneaky and smart. Love em. And Hermione has most of the lines Ron has in the books. Is that information in the books, or something Rowling has said? I don't recall that, but it's been ages since I've read the books, so I'm just curious where it came from :)
@@JessieNebulousGaming Its not in the books, its fanfic
I would like to note that Avadakedavra in Aramaic means "I kill with the word", while abracadabra translates as "I create with the word". Just an interesting fact
Abracadabra is I Create as I Speak. The killing curse is I Destroy as I Speak
😂
Not Lebron😂😂😂😂
It's not Latin, it's Aramaic.
I read your comment nodding and with a serious face until you wrote Lebron 😂
For no reason, Dobby is constantly replaced by Neville in the movies. It's funny, but it's a little weird that he does the work of an elf
Cgi takes more time and money. So it was probably easier to replace him by neville who is played by an actor
And Winkey 😢 we never get to drunk house elf.
I hate this fragment with all my heart, seriously
(I apologize for the mistakes in the text, I don't know English very well and use a translator to explain what I mean)
I remember spew haha good times reading the books back in the day

Ngl the basketball metaphors you guys use are hilarious and accurate, calling Harry 'Lebron' and Ron his point guard and saying Snape's the coach that's hard on Harry had me wheezing😂😂😂

I can NOT wait for your reaction to the fifth movie 😂
It’s on the way! That’s in my edit queue as we speak.

Looking forward to the next one.
Kinda sad to know that Ginny went with him just because she couldn't go otherwise and thought that Harry already had a date
@@kuroro9949 she didn’t think Harry had a date. She just never thought harry would ask her.
@@tracim3080 She was surprised to learn that Harry had no date and seemed upset when she said that she had accepted to go with Neville already. So she did think that Harry had a date
Telling Crouch to go back to the daily bugle is TOO MUCH LMAOOOOOO
Man that brother came in looking just like Jamison lol

Just because I haven’t seen anyone else mention it “No! Pause!” At 56:29 is so funny. Thank you guys.
Lol sometimes I think we are the only ones who catch that 😂

“Twilight?!” when Robert Pattinson dropped in made me actually laugh out loud. 😂
#RIPCED
So a couple of things they didn't show, basically the whole tournament was rigged for Harry to "win". Like in the maze, when Krum was attacking everyone except Harry was because he was being mind controlled, which is one of the unforgivable curses they showed in the beginning.
Makes so much sense
"Na, we gotta go to HR for that...."🤣😂😅
Y'all have brought me to much joy while I've been down with the flu! "She's a bad witch..." sent me into a coughing fit! Keep going!

The reaction to Babymort was hilarious.
😂🤣😂 -Brandon
Eugh, Benjamin button😂😂😂
YES one of my favorite moments in the whole series is the Weasley’s picking Harry up at the Dursley’s for the World Cup. Wholesome chaos 🤭🤭🤭
"Well done dragon" from the twins... was because the dragon flew into the teachers stand 😂
Ohhhh ok ok that makes sense! -Brandon
I slightly thought that but then I was like nah we can’t cheer for the Dragons at all while my boy is in battle 😂
-Adison
The people put into the lake to be rescued were put into a safe sleep by Dumbledore. If they weren't rescued, an official would have taken them out. The mermaids agreed to participate in the tournament and were just watching and were almost like refs and gave the judges the scoop as to what happened in the water, which is why Harry got 2nd place
I was looking for this explanation! Thanks for adding it!
"Voldemort soup" that was funny😆
One of the coldest moments in this movie is right before Cedric gets killed, Voledmort says to Peter Pettigrew: "Kill the SPARE."
Ouch. "The spare."
"He finna put him in a broth?!" 🤣🤣
13:53 the editing choice to put Brandon’s side eye close up with the bell was perfect.
48:00 lol. Yall reaction to baby Voldemort was hilarious
53:49 so wrong for that one lol.
Great reaction as usual. Looking forward to the next one.
I died when they saw baby voldemort😭😭😭
@@graceabyyysame. Hilarious
rons biggest fear from the first book was being the least remembered Weasley brother, hes the youngest of 5 boys who all made their names at hogwarts and he struggled with finding the thing that would make him stand out, thats kinda the reasoning behind ron getting to butt hurt about harry getting into the tournament, the movie however does not do a very good job at explaining this.
Yup! On top of the jealousy over the financial prize AND the fact that he’s suspicious Harry is lying to him about putting his name in.
OMG YOU JUST MADE MY SUNDAY! I CAN'T WAIT!
Ah man it’s Monday night in india I will have to watch it tomorrow now

Lol nah that was wrong smh 🤦🏾♂️ #ripced mane!!!
-Adison
I actually don't remember if this was explained in the movies, but the dragons were nesting mothers and the golden eggs were amongst real eggs for each champion. That's why they were so murderous.
"Dang, he hit him with the abracadabra?! Daaang!" 😂😭
"You got my blood but you aren't my family" - Funnily enough, Harry and Voldemort actually ARE distant cousins, so technically they are family. This isn't ever mentioned in the movies so not a spoiler, but they share some ancestry.
I LOOOVE Voldemort's appearance! He's human enough so he feels threatening, but supernatural enough to feel unpredictable.
LOL! 😁🤓
🏰🧙🪄📚❤🔥
Wow the rate you are filming, editing and uploading these videos are insane!!! Love your reactions :)
You two crack me up. Hagrid is a snack and didnt know it and Voldormorts soup, I'm still giggling at that one.
I’m so glad yall decided to react to HP⚡️! This is my favorite type of “First Time Watching“ to dig into. Yall are hilarious!
(Minor Spoiler: they dont really explain this very well in the movies)
The reason Neville was so shook by the torture curse "Crucio" was because Death Eaters (one of them being Sirius' cousin Bellatrix) tortured his parents with the Cruciatus until they were basically vegetables.
@@aceambling7685 I’m just suggesting we give them a chance. If after the full unfolding of the plot, the connection still isn’t made, spoil away. The story is structured the way it is for a reason. Movie watchers always mention how us book readers are too quick to jump ahead. Just offering a different perspective - but sprinkle spoilers as you see fit! ✌️
I agree with you. It's super vague and some reactors just know "something" hapenned to Nevillle's parents. What youw rote isn't a spoiler at all, idk what that person is talking about. It's an explanation if anything.@@aceambling7685
Come on now, no spoilers please. They are legit going to see this in the next movie.
Can't wait until you see the NEXT teacher of Defense Against the Dark Arts!😁
The actor who played Cedrics dad is such a giant regarding evoking emotion ❤ You could show me only this scene out of the blue and I WILL be baling instantly with deep desperation ❤ I don't even have kids but damn his voice conveys the horror of losing your child so perfectly that its kinda eerie how even childless ppl can feel it in their very soul ❤ Empathy is so overwhelming sometimes ❤
Man you two are insightful and hilarious at the same time you predict a lot of stuff pretty spot on.
Just had a HP marathon of your reactions finally up to date. ❤
Cedric is mentioned several times in the previous books, and Robert does make an on screen appearance in one of the previous 3 movies, but he's in the background and they aren't talking about him so easily missed

You two are so enjoyable! I discovered you watch HP and watched them all yesterday. I cant wait to see you watch the rest. Thank you!
I found them last night. I had to immediately subscribe. Their reactions are too funny and on point. 😂
Wish I'd caught more of this live. Watching from the beginning now.

Book 5 is my favourite but that is because of the twins. That’s their book 😂

pretty much every harry potter fan was angry when they didn't show the quidditch worldcup! It was a major plot point of the third and fourth book!
Your understanding of the movies is dead on and I can’t wait to see your reactions when you get through them all and see how it all ties together. I think you will LOVE the books bc they are so much more in depth.
People werent very happy with this because they cut out a lot. There was a whole storyline involving house elves, Dobby makes a return, and you get to meet an "alcoholic" house elf. The first part of the book does take part in the Dursley's, and Harry is once again picked up by the Weasleys.
You guys are hilarious!! Love these Harry Potter reaction videos . It’s been so long since I watched the movies so it feels great to “rewatch” them with you guys

"You got me wondering why they call you Moaning Myrtle" STOP🤣
You two might be my favourite reactors to this series! You guys are just so funny and bounce off of each other so well
Regarding the second task in the lake, the ones under water were never in any danger so even if Harry hadn't saved them, they would have been fine.

“twilight?!” that took me all the way out 😂
also you guys are my new favorite reaction channel! you guys are so funny! genuinely enjoy watching ! ☺️
“That ain’t a creature brother don’t touch that” made me laugh out loud while at work so thanks for that😂😂

The twins were applauding the dragon for nearly knocking the adults out of the stands.

In the book Rita publishes a lot more articles about everyone and they can't figure out how she keeps over hearing conversations, well she's an animagus and turns into a lady bug, her glasses is a clue to that but didn't make the movies, she also actively played with Cedric butt
She turns into a beatle, not a lady bug, I believe.
Whatever algorithm Overlord brought me here, I thank them :)) this is the best channel ever. You actually pay attention. It's so refreshing to see
The twins only cheered the dragon because it knocked out the faculty bleacher section. with all the teachers/professors.

I feel like Harry was emotional about Cedric's death too because he felt a lot of guilt like it was his fault. Voldemort targeted Harry and poor Cedric just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Harry couldn't do anything to stop it.
