How to Service a Renault Clio 1.2

- Doing a service on a 1.2 16v Renault Clio we changed the oil the oil filter and air filter the cabin filter was fine so did not require changing but it is located on the passenger side under the footwell.

The « mayo » is completely normal on those engines, the spot where you pour the oil into the engine is quite far of it so it doesn’t get to warm up and burn the condensation, no head gasket, every 1.2 16v has the same stuff
It's still running. The engine is spot on, the rest of the car not so much!

That white foam is in mine as well. I assume that is cause by the mixture between hot fumes from oil and moisture,short distance driving.
It can be yes or it could be a head gasket to check if it’s a head gasket just check if there is lots of white smoke from the exhaust or if your coolant is constantly running low could be another sign it’s a head gasket just keep an eye on it and monitor it then go from there but mine has been fine so not too concerned about it!
@@restoringsalvage no loos on any coolant or oil inside the coolant. Just that foam on the lid. The warmer it gets outside,the less foam on the lid. The car has 60 thousand miles on dash, 2006, no leak, no nothing. The garage said the same thing, short trips to blame and the way that tube is built. Hot fumes from the oil are cooled at the top of the tube and bam,foam.
@@jony6107 Interesting yes can be a number of different things but when doing short trips the problem is the oil don’t get hot enough and then it can’t burn it away and then it will form foam like substance
@@restoringsalvage as long as the car pulls like a train, a smalll,75 hp train 😂😂 then it's fine.

My Slm Vehicle My 2007 model CLIO 3 1.2 16v gasoline vehicle does not exceed 90 km at 3000 rpm on long distances. It does 115-120 km over 4000 rpm, but the car screams a lot. As far as I learned, when the last gear is changed, it easily goes over 100 km at normal speed. Is this true, how much is the estimated cost? Is there a suitable gearbox for this if we put another gearbox? I would be very grateful if you could answer my questions. Thank you.
A gearbox for this vehicle would be relatively cheap but I don't think that would be your issue maybe a fuel and spark issues when was the last time you serviced your vehicle would recommend that and maybe even change the fuel filter!

My 16v 2005 Clio is very sluggish at the top end, feels like it's struggling at 85 kilometers an hour...
What would you suggest I do to improve performance..
Possibly spark plugs or fuel filter that’s what I would change hope this helps maybe just give it a full service depending on when you last had it serviced
Is this a normal sound of that engine?
It sounds worse on camera but it’s completely fine.

Do you know if I can use a Fibre Washer instead of a Copper washer for the oil plug?
I would recommend using a copper washer there only cheap and you can get there from most car parts stores
Hi guys, what 's the little hose that goes to the airbox? I would like to install a sport filter, but I don't know what it is for and what to do with it.
Its a vent hose not sure what you can do with it tho have a google about I'm sure someone will be able to point you in the right direction.

It should be under the passenger side glove box I believe!

There should be some screws holding it in place or you can maybe go from under neath the glove box!
Can someone Help.I have Renault clio 1.6 gt line.the problom that i have is when i want to accelerate,the car goes into limp mode and the car start shaking pretty badly. code p0300 ramdom multiple cylinder misfire detected.
I would start with changing the spark plugs, see if this helps!
Oil bolt is 8 or 10mm the tool?

I believe its inside the fuel tank!
