Great video for people wanting to service their Clio's. I've had my 03 plate Clio 1.2 mk2 for 13 years now and have serviced it every year or 6-8k miles and it's still going strong.
Great videos! Simple language easy to follow. I have just got my first car a clio 1.2 and feel I could do these. Probably saving me money too thank you!
Good video, and excellent explanation. I´m going to make the service, by my self, for first time to a Clio Mio 1.2 16V D4F this week end and this video is a great guide. Regards from Argentina.
Good guide there as always very informative. I owned one of these as a daily driver for a while was very easy to work on could have the inlet manifold off in no time!
Brilliant video Martin, I'm really loving these video's, your videos are becoming a home comfort, when I'm away from home I wan to co me home to my comforts including these video's lol, keep it up please !
great video Martin, I know that will be a great help to people giving it a go themselves. as always I enjoyed this video and look forward to the next video and it's a thumbs up from me
This chap is a jolly good egg as far as I'm concerned. It's quite clear to me now that it doesn't take weeks to service a Clio. The chauffeur Sinclair has been spending hours in the garage with our daughter; apparently giving her car a damned good service. Perhaps if he watches this video he can spend more of his energy on the Bentley instead of constantly tinkering with her Clio.
Parknest he did not so long ago a video on how to change a pollen filter you should check that out also I did a video on a pollen filter are used in machines to see the difference before and after and it was amazing
No, I didn't. That can be done at any time. this car has only done very low mileage in the last year and the vents blow very strong. When it needs changing, i'll change it. I'm not one for religiously sticking to what manufacturers say, I rely on using common sense as well as the specifications.
Excellent advise mate, Thank you! i can now service my girlfriends Clio without any surprises. ps, I really liked your RD LC write up and please keep up the videos. :)
Good work Martin, I don´t have a Renault Clio but all your little hints are also good for other cars. Many thanks for the video! btw...... handtight = 0,25 Martin ;-) Cheers Bernd
Helpful video, I now know where the oil filter and sump plug are located. But it's really not a good idea to wear a watch or rings while working on a car let alone carrying out a service. Also I would obtain some foam kneel pads rather than kneeling directly on a brick floor.
This was a very informative and helpful video, I do have one question though, where can the power steering fuild be checked? I had a look in the book that came with the car and it isn't where they say it should be?
New Gasket on the sump everytime chap, can't be draining new oil if the old one leaks and you are putting addtional pressure on the threads if you use the old one, few pence all it costs...just saying. Also I would'nt bother with fully synthetic oil semi is fine.
It's RUBBER. what's he ACTUALLY going to replace? It looks like the ford ones here where to stop it getting warped as you tighten, it's built onto the sunp bung itself. Ford has been doing that for nearly 40 years on their main big 6 cylinder here.... btw those bungs AREN'T a couple of cents, they're several dollars/euro each.
had 3 of these in the past. if only my first one was still around. so Jimmy has claimed it lol. after the graft on his corsa too lol! is he flogging that now you fixed it
Loved this video, it made me do mine and it was so easy to do, so thank you very much . One problem was finding the fuel filter, does anyone know where it is located (in the tank, bulkhead or some other place)?

you ever do a fuel filter ? can't find one on mine but i was told it may be in the tank ?
@@samburns6795 Never done it. It's in the fuel tank part of the sender unit. If it's the petrol engine.

My first car is the same thankyou so much for your videos ❤️
Thank you; a really easy video to follow. Will now go to work on my daughter’s car.
Nicely produced video. Even an idiot like me now feels I could have a crack at a few things in my clio.

Great video, really well explained! 👍🏻
Nice job Martin .
Thanks Pete.
You forgot to change the pollen filter. It should be done every year. It is amazing how dirty they get in that space of time.

Martin, did your apprentice used to be in The Wurzels? - I bet his brand new combine harvester will need a service by now :))
Hahaha

Darren, I'm 54 years old and worked in all sorts of industries, I know the risks but I am my own safety officer bud.

Corsa rings are shot so it's not worth repairing Rob.
Is this engine really supposed to sound diesel'ish/tappy ?
I thought maybe lifters in timing are worn out ?
Loved this video, it made me do mine and it was so easy to do, so thank you very much . One problem was finding the fuel filter, does anyone know where it is located (in the tank, bulkhead or some other place)?
There will be a vid on UA-cam somewhere bud.
retrorestore I couldn't find one for the 2003 model. I looked on the internet and no one seemed to know. Do they just not have fuel filters?
But.....i always start with draining the sump first. Not removing the oilfilter until that is done. Strange, that you do it the other way around.
If i dont have an oil filter wratchet, what could i use? Plumbers pliers?
Just get one, fast delivery from Amazon bud.
Top tip Martin.....lol Edd China is reborn. keep this vids coming brilliant viewing.
I think he's a bit taller than me haha
That's a fancy looking ratchet handle Martin - what brand is it?
It wasn't mine John and I didn't catch the name.
It was a Halford's advanced professional socket set. I could see it in the van next to the car. I've got one, nice bit of kit.
Should get a brake fluid tester to tell you the water content
It's another tool for the list lol
retrorestore Can never have too many tools!
Is this Jimmy's new car?
I bought it cheap and Jimmy has nicked it Michael
Looks like you have got a good bargain there mate.
Where is the window wash on these? I can’t find where to put it in my engine. First time owning a mk 2 Clio 2005
look at 12.26min - window wash is on the bottom right, in the scuttle panel
😊
👍👍👍👍
How do you dispose of the old oil?
We take it to our local recycling plant
@@retrorestore Cheers
Paint your fence
R u buying and selling cars now ?
We picked this one up very cheap with lots of service history so Jimmy claimed it lol
Sounds a bit Tappity!
it was fine, the camera mic makes it sound like that.
ASSESS THE SITUATION...ex military by anychance.
No bud
Amazing video
Cheers bud.
