Not enough to risk a child's life.

Yeah, I was thinking, “How can he not remember Riley?! She *just* mentioned him at the end of the first game.” But then I’ve played this game several times and watched maybe a dozen other playthroughs, so it’s impossible for me to accurately assess anyone’s first-time playthrough of the story. :)

This game really makes you afraid to feel warm moments. The opening with sarah really sets the tone immediately and the rest is just the perfect meal made with the finest ingredients

Couple of things - you said you're taking a bit of a break before part 2, and I do recommend it - the themes are quite heavy. Also, avoid spoilers for part 2 at all costs!!! You don't have to watch season 1 of the show before you play part 2, but it might be enjoyable to do so. The show has zero spoilers for part 2 of the game.
Every time I watch or replay this game, as amazing as it is, and even though it's in my top 2 games of all time, I'm reminded how the show does some things even better. Hope you really watch the show when you can.

Yeah, in her ending monologue in part 1, she said she was with her best friend when she got bit, didn't know what to do and gave the wait it out and lose our minds together line. Then she says, her name was Riley and she was the first to die. The ending of the DLC is to confirm that to the player.
I don't think so, Ellie talked about how she killed the guy drowning Joel in part 2 then immediately asked Dina when the first time she killed someone was. Plus, she also mentioned that Marlene almost killed Ellie when they first met so maybe Marlene was the one who killed Riley
I would advise having moderators for Part 2, or just not reading the comments until you've completed Part 2. Haters just love leaving spoilers they do it on purpose because they wanna ruin the experience for new players of Part 2 I've seen it many times with channels so be careful... Advice for Part 2: play the game then watch the second season. It's better overall, my opinion. The trailers for season two have frames that are almost identicals to the cinematics of the game.
Another really fun story telling game after Part 2 is concluded is Detroit Become Human (scify/drama) or something like Until Dawn (horror/mystery). Hope you react to S1 of the show on her too if you can manage. Would be cool to see your reaction after freshly playing the first game.

Something i didnt realise before now is, the first person Ellie killed was probably Riley.. When Riley started to turn, she probably attacked Ellie..
