You most definitely painted a picture. I could visualize the water tripping over rocks and stones, and slipping down a waterfall. Truly water on wire...simply beautiful.
Simply wow!!! I’ve been watching your videos following this past Christmas season celebration. God has beautifully gifted you with the love of music and performing. Outstanding girl!!!
What a pleasing arrangement. I like the arpeggios and the texture that yes, resembles moving water. Lush and lovely. Good playing and soothing to listen to.
This tune is in the Presbyterian Hymnal for the hymn “The Gift of Love.” I love your videos! Thank you for bringing us so much unique music. You are a treasure.
I love the sound of that dulcimer! OMG My son and I do that one, as well. I like the Clancy Brothers and Bob Dylan’s versions, however, I think I just heard my favorite 😊✌️
How beautiful! This is one of my favorite Celtic folk songs, too! I have played it on Irish whistle and on my small heather harp- but have never heard it before on hammered dulcimer. Your arrangement does indeed give the impression of flowing water, through the arpeggios, with a lovely melody interposed onto that background. How many strings does your dulcimer have? I have a small entry-level one with 23 sets of the double strings- but yours obviously has many more, to have such a full, rich sound! (I’m sure it is a very fine instrument, besides). Thanks for sharing this song.
With such a LOVELY melody, I can imagine that this has been played on MANY instruments! My dulcimer in a Jim Hudson, and has 122 strings….5 octaves, and I try to use EVERY one of them!
@@deedeetibbits I can well believe that you use most strings- if not all- as the piece you played reflected that! Any instrument that conveys the wistful, longing mood of that song would definitely sound good. I wish I had more time to properly and fully learn to play hammered dulcimer. At present I am in two music groups using wind instruments that I play, and obviously I must practice on those- so unfortunately my “recreational” instruments have to take a back seat because of lack of time. However, they are waiting in the wings! : )

I LOVE your description 🎶☺️
One of my favourite traditional songs - and this is a very beautiful arrangement indeed.
Thank you!
Beautiful arraignment….
Love the layering of the tune on top of the full chordal “background”.
YES! More difficult to do, but SO worth the effort🎶

The dulcimer is one of the most relaxing instruments. You created a beautiful arrangement!
I think so too! I will often sit down to play when I’m stressed or needing to think!
@@deedeetibbits playing an instrument is a wonderful de-stressor. I love to sit and play the piano.

You and Andrew Frost should do this piece together. Two very beautiful renditions of one of my favorite songs. Thanks for this.
I don’t know who Andrew Frost is…but would love to play that song with ANY good musician! Thanks for listening!
This is absolutely gorgeous!!!!
Thank you!
A great instrument! Someday I’ll get one. Thanks! 🙂😎
I hope you do! Be careful when you select one!
@@deedeetibbits I think maybe a Master Works (Oklahoma) model someday. Thanks! 😎
Yes! Russell (Master Works) makes a GREAT dulcimer! Good choice! He’s also a GREAT guy!,
a beautiful rendition of a lovely song. Steeleye Span do a beautiful sung version on their album Time.
I’ll look it up!

YOU TRULY HAVE A ANOINTING FROM GOD..CARUSO WOULD BE JEALOUS...SHALOM 🇺🇲🙈🙊🙉🇺🇲
Hahah! SHALOM is the feeling I was going for!
I read the title as
"wadding in the water"
🤣
Haha
Beautiful! What kind of dulcimer do you have? How many sets of strings? Love it!
It’s a Jim Hudson, and has 122 strings on it.
This is beautiful! What maker of this lovely instrument are you playing?
Jim Hudson crafted my dulcimer, and I SO enjoy it!
@@deedeetibbits It has such a rich sound and you play it beautifully. They are one of my favorite instruments.
It kinda sounds like a piano and harp combined.
That’s what I thought too!
