Thank you! I am a custom furniture maker, so everything I make on here is for sale. Let me know if you are interested!
Super, très belle chaise. Very Nice chair. Cool
Thank you!
What a beautiful chair. Great proportions, wood choice and everything. I might radius a few of the edges a bit, but that’s just me. I think it actually looks better with the stronger angles like you have it.
Thank you! Yeah, there are plenty of little details that could be changed up depending on the look you are going for. I have done a few of them with much softer, rounded edges like you said.
Very good work ! 😉
Thank you!
Like that design! 👊🏾👊🏾
Thanks, appreciate it!
excellent congratulations
Thank you!
Excellent design..! I favor designs from mid 60s & 70s as well as the Jetsons & his boy Elroy. Clean lines are always pleasing.
Haha, I'm all the hours I spent watching the Jetsons as a kid had to have some effect on my design aesthetic.
Excellent.
Thank you!
You've got some talent mate, well done. Stevo downunder
Really appreciate that, thanks man!

awesome design. Nice job lining up those blind dominoes on the sides of the chair
Thanks, Branden! Those can be tricky, but it is always a nice feeling when they line up.

I loved it! You make everything seem so easy to make.
ps: that speaker watching you work at 3:20 is so funny!
Really appreciate it! That is one of my Hootie Bluetooth Speakers I make. If I spend too much time in my shop, I might start talking to it.
Good job bro
Greetings from tijuana
Shawn, you killed it again. This chair is gorgeous. I really want a domino to work on some of my chair designs.
Thank you! The domino is such a great tool, especially for speed and accuracy. Of course it could all be done without it, but it really helps to let you put all your focus on design.
Shaun Boyd agreed. I'm focusing on the CNC first, then onto the domino.
Well, that's a beautiful chair! Well done! And pretty comfortable as well I think haha
Thanks, Jolien! I have to say, it is pretty dang comfortable.
Awesome.
Thanks!
Linda. Linda mesmo.
Buen trabajo, excelente combinación de maderas, le da un realce al diseño

Brilliant Shaun! Really nice looking chair and I'll bet it's very comfortable as well. Don't be surprised if your subscriber count keeps going up :-)
Thanks, man! Really appreciate it. It is pretty dang comfortable, which is the best part about finishing one, getting to test it.
We say about such people: "Master of the gold of hands"
Bravo!
Thank you!
Very nice! Greetings from Germany
Thank you!
so cool! I hope you make a bench modified off that design for us to see!
Thanks! That is a good idea, might give it a try in the future.
I need a domino....awesome build
Thanks, Greg! The domino is a great little tool, and has paid for itself countless times over.
Sensancional your work, congratulations for the talent and the delicacy in executing. I always follow your projects even though I'm Brazilian, I think too much of the ideas you present in the videos.
Really appreciate it, Marido. Thanks for watching!
Nice!
Thanks!
Awesome design man. Really like it! I’m envisioning something like an orange tweed cushion and back. Would look pretty rock n roll.
Thanks, really appreciate it! That would be a great combo. Orange looks awesome with Walnut.
Hola saludos desde cartago Costa Rica saludes muchachos excelente trabajo

Thanks!
no doubt a great design, a normal speed video would be comfortable for the eyes to appreciate more
Top de mais que criação!!👏👏👏👏👏

I love your elegant design and your work process even more, your templates, repeatable steps and attention to detail.
Can you post the name of the first (and last) song?
Thanks and keep up the good work
Thank you! Really appreciate it! That song is from the UA-cam music library and is called Magic Marker by Silent Partner.
Muito linda parabéns
Obrigado!
Lining up those Domino angles for the seat to the legs would have been tough. Truly epic build here.
Yeah, that part is always a little tricky. Thanks for watching!
Dude that's awesome!!! I've always wanted to build a chair but I can never get the angles right. How do you do it?? Thanks Shaun & great work
Thanks Bobby! I just draw a bunch of sketches until I like the proportions, then I start drawing a full-size version on a piece of MDF to cut out for templates. Check out my video from a couple days ago about making MDF templates, as I talk a bit about this.
bellissima
Thank you!
Top e aguenta mesmo
Shaun, I see you have many patterns . I just took my first wood working class at 52. Really love your char. Will you be willing to share the pattern. Great you can do it with ease !!!
Hi Lana, very cool you are getting into woodworking! I actually sell the plans and templates for this piece along with some others on my website: www.shaunboydmadethis.com/plans
Dude. Your work is great, as always.
Your designs are inspiring.
Did you study design at any point or is this all self-taught?
Thanks, Anthony. Really appreciate the kind words! I never formally studied design, just spent a lot of time throughout my life staring at furniture, buildings, cars, etc. I have been inspired by so many people's work over the years that it is nice to hear my work is inspiring others.
Top!👍🏻
👍
super chair and studio
please make a review of your studio
Thank you! I'm currently working on a shop tour video, so stay tuned!
Отлично!
Did you make the cushions too?
Hi Shaun! Love the build - excellent work as usual. Question - at 2:06 in the video there are 4 glue cauls on the bench. Where did you get them, etc.
Thanks for watching! Those were made by Bridge City Tool Works, but unfortunately they don't make them anymore. I think Woodpeckers makes something similar, but I also made a video about making your own. Here is the link: ua-cam.com/video/1CYkq5dBwZI/v-deo.html
hey shaun, just subscribed, great and inspiring woodworking, thanks for sharing! looking for a tablesaw myself at the moment, this one looks solid, which brand is it, you statisfied? cheers!
Thanks, Ben. Really appreciate it! I use a 3hp Sawstop cabinet saw. I upgraded from an old Delta contractor saw, and it was a huge improvement. Everything about the saw is top notch, and the added safety is the icing on the cake. I do some teaching in my shop, so having the safety feature was pretty critical for me, but even without that, it is a fantastic table saw.
Hello, I love the videos of you so inspiring ..I'm from Brazil and I do not know anything about English I'm using google translator, I do not know how you do it on UA-cam but could put subtitles in Portuguese ..Thank you so much .. ..for inspiration
Thank you for watching!
Thanks for the inspiration. I just finished building a chair that was heavily inspired by this. I listened to you on the Modern Maker Podcast the other night, talking about creativity. When I started this build, I made a template that was based off the design of the Glenn. Not very creative. Along the way, I realized I wasn’t going to have enough material to double up to make the armrest as thick as the leg pieces. This forced me to get creative and I came up with an arm rest that really changed the look of the design. Again, thanks for the inspiration!
