Clive, you are the only artist on UA-cam who CONSISTENTLY warns about possible harmful effects. Thank you.
Always best to keep safety first thanks clive
you are one of the, if not THE best on youtube. Thank you very much!!!!
Good information about knives and cleaning them. I just wanted to let you know about rubbing alcohol for clothes...the other day I got quite a large smear of red paint on my white t-shirt (cotton), but didn't see it until it was dry. I used alcohol and poured directly onto the spot, worked it in, and then rinsed with warm water...the red paint came out! I'd say it's safe to use on most surfaces and removes paint very well.
Skye McDonald any more tips let me know ill make a video of them skye
Clive I would love to see you do the impasto technique for painting flowers with the palette knife. You're a great teacher and I think you'd demonstrate the technique in a wzy that we could follow along. The other videos are either speeded up, just a few minutes long or they won't tell you what colors they're using. And some just want to showcase their work. I would appreciate a flower demo. Thanks
Try this

Thank you for all the information! I just got some plastic pallet knives, and I can't wait to learn everything I can about how to use those till i get something more fancy.
They work well and are cheaper
I want your art studio! I don't always use Palette knives.. sometimes I use an actual plastic knife. :) Great information. :)
SUBSCRIBED!! I only watched 2 of your videos and I already found some helpful tips! Thanks!
Thank you so happy I helped you
Great tutorial! Thanks! 👏🏻
Thank you! Needed this. And I was very happy to get the definition of the term 'surgical spirits' used in your acrylic paint products video. Its alcohol! Now I need to go back and see what you can add it to. Was it clumpy acrylic paint?
It will remove acrylic paint don't mix it directly into the paint it will give you problems
Thank you
I found you through suggested videos. First your videos are very informative. I have a fairly new you tube channel so I’m definitely doing my research. Thanks for all your help. Please keep it up! Just subbed!
Thank you for your support
Just saw this one. I've read somewhere that the yellow used in the Sunflower painting actually faded or oxidized (or whatever it is paint does when it goes bad), and the darker petals were actually a much brighter yellow originally. Also read that that particular pigment is no longer used for just this reason. My question: has anyone you know of tried to recreate that painting replacing the yellow with a hue that matches the original yellow color? As a follow-up, would anyone care, or would they prefer the original as it looks now?
Oh I really like this bless u.thank u.
Glad it helped
Great video. Rubbing alcohol will work to remove paint from clothes. I got red paint on a white cotton shirt and didn't see it till it was dried out. I poured alcohol on the spot, worked it in, and then rinsed with water...paint was all out.
good to know thanks clive
Nice video!
This was very helpful!
Thank you
Usually just use hot water if I forget to wipe it clean but handy to know about surgical spirit.
Just started experimenting with palette knife painting, great fun! Can't find your painting demo of the boats. Could you please put up a link? Would love to try it. Many thanks. Love your videos.
Hi goto the playlist section at www.clive5art.co.uk click on 7 day challenge and mountain and rocks playlist I'll post some links later thanks clive
Thanks for uploading this.. should we use thick paint.. or normal acrylic would work fine while using pallet knife
Thicker the better
Good explanation but I'd really like to see how to use each one?
Thanks. What did you suggest to thicken paint- u said it very quickly at end of video.
You can use modelling paste or heavy gel paste
Great information! Thanks Clive. I learned something new. :). Sue
