When I die, I want paradize to be an infinite 80's Arcade. And I want to be with the dogs that I lost.
@Kailer Gibes Hang On
These are the things that make me want to go to Japan. Great video!
japan 100 times better than america
I wish this would be over and arcades up and running again SO much.
Me too. I'm ready to get back in there.
I have seen the occasional tournament videos still being done at Japanese arcades. But it is usually between 2 players, and a very limited amount of people there to emcee the tournament (usually 2-3 people, not counting the 2 players).
Love those old commercials. The Street Fighter ones bring back memories. Mike Tyson saying, “TYSON POWAAHH!” made the whole thing worth it!! LOL!
Man I miss that vibe SO MUCH! Hopefully if the C-Virus situation hasn't taken a complete toll on the Arcade industry, Akihabara will be up and running in full motion again.
I hope so too but man, it's gonna be even less profitable for the owners- fewer machines spaced 6' apart, frequent sanitizing, maybe latex gloves for all customers. I really hope our barcades in LA (82 and Button Mash) survive! Ganbatte minna!
Top notch, grade A+, video editing and filming...music and filming style combination, is pure excellence.
Tokyo's arcade stations feels like *Neon City*
Nastolgia city
Japan is awesome for Toys And Game (Arcade too)
I miss Japan arcades so much. Looking forward to returning once this craziness is over.
Epic simply mind-blowing. + I love your choice in music cuts simply outstanding.
Love the OST of this video !
My wife and I just booked our flights to Tokyo for April 2022 and I cannot wait to visit some of these arcades you’ve shown. I’m a huge fighter and shmup fanatic. Great video! 😁
Amazing that a city that's historically old is so futuristic at the same time
Thanks again Jim! Our Show host and precious tour guide!
My pleasure. :)
came here for the games stayed for the music
I really enjoyed the cuts with retro ads! I also enjoyed all the tunes! Awesome video! I want to go to Japan one day for sure.
i love arcades i wish i could go to tokyo someday before i die of old age lol i love japan
Love Shinjuku thanks for showing us around ☺ ♥ 🇯🇵
I just love these walk around videos you do in Tokyo
I went to Japan in 2004 and let me tell you I miss it everyday literally wake up,eat, study, then game game game! Great experience!
MAD.
36:30
This song is nostalgic to me. Like very familiar but I cannot put my finger on it.
The tune is from Outrun. It's called Splash Wave.
@@OrionsAngel yes!
You do a great job editing this videos, really atmospheric and I bet years from now you will look back on these with good memories. They are basically time capsules of an exact point in time.
Who knows, 20 years from now we all might be thinking, "I wonder what the arcades looked like in 20xx date?" Boom! There is your video.
Feels like you are my tour guide in these videos
One of my favorite things about Tokyo and Japan in general, are the arcades. Miss it so much. Love Japan!
Imagine, for a city as dense and busy as Tokyo, the bars and arcades are still open and everyone is out, not hiding scared in their houses.
Great Great Video!! Thanx 4 Sharing
This was such a sick video so, much more than just arcade tours !! Sik m8
Awesome!
Those candy machine Music.. such Nostalgia.. we have several arcades in Myanmar. Now I'm in the US.. Miss those times.. 😭❤❤
Amazing video, my friend! Greetings from Brazil
Love the fact that these use to/still do bring ppl together. We don't have as much of these in the US anymore which is kinda sad. Would always waste a ton of money on Marvel V Capcom 2 lol. Ahh the memories...
@42:50 what music is this TIS AMAZING sounds very retro arcade-themed!!
I was so happy when you put that classic Japanese Street Fighter commercial.
Mikado looks soooo sick. I love 3s, Darkstalkers, and many other old games much more than modern. Even got mocked by locals here for wanting to competitively play dead games. 😓 Ik nostalgia is alive and well there considering Godzilla and Gundam monuments.
Anywho, I never realized the point of head-to-head was to be impersonal (I thought it was to have more room/feel less cramped) but that makes PERFECT sense considering Japan seems to be such an avoidant/private sort of society.
R.I.P. Kawasaki Warehouse. Certainly the most aesthetic arcade in existence.
What song is it that starts at 15:11? So dope!!!!
Following
ye can someone tell
I tried really hard to find
The beat is a remixed version of garden by ryuichi sakamoto
The lyrics are from Fatal Fury and the slow downed verse is from It ain't hard to tell by Nas
I couldn't find the beat though
music please! track list!
OMG, I want to go!! I live in Canada and Arcade is almost non existent except except few arcade machines in movie theatres
hope none of these arcades and independent game shops will close down after this pandemic takes it course
Pandemic scam! Didnt you see no one wear mask in Japan but only some people do that. You know why? Because in Japan is not an obligation wear the mask for any flu including Covid lies...
Coronavirus is the Asian Pneumonia and Japan as a sovereign country never get orders from United Nations same world governance through WHO has imposed this show desease for destroy the economy of each country and get each of them by banks - loan.
Cheer Japan!
Some of the music in this video is really catchy. Do you have a list of the songs?
The picture quality is like 90'camera that put charm and good sound is cool.
awesome editing man. love the music bed and i thought adding old nostalgic commericials was really crative and tastefully done. well executed!
Stallone and iron mike Tyson commercials, priceless👊
Any way to get a track list of the music used in this video?
yes please. the tune with the scratching was awesome.
I feel like I heard the track starting at 9:35 from somewhere...
there were more than 20 thousands arcades 30 years ago, but now only 4 thousand survived in all over Japan.
after COVID-19, so many of small ones would close down their business; sadly.
arcades featuring 80s, 90s, or 00s retro video game now become somewhat museum like.
when you had chance of visiting them, don't just stay and watch, but play some to help them survive.
Wow japan is amazing
Whoa! This will be fun to watch. Thank you for sharing this with us Jim. 8^)
Anthony..
This song at 18:40 rocks
Visiting Japan has been something I’ve wanted to do for many many years... my trip was supposed to be this week but world events made me feel it was wiser to cancel trip (and I’m in the states so I don’t think Japan is letting foreigners in at moment, which I totally understand and respect)... sad but my inconvenience is very minor in the grand scheme of things. One day I will go... but I wanted to say thank you for always posting videos that make me see it the way I would love to. I can’t go this summer, but watching this video almost made me feel like I did :)
What song is playing at 21 minutes? I know its a Street fighter remix but I cant place the original song name or game. Its awesome that you have the option to go to an arcade after work not to mention so many. I live in NYC and all the good arcades practically closed what felt like overnight and now we just have Barcades popping up.
When I was stationed in Misawa, Japan from 2009-2013 I saw many arcades but honestly, if you've seen one, you've seen them all. They're pretty much all the same. A boat load of games combined with some super rigged "claw" games.
Pros:
-large selection of games
-Unique games that will never make it to the west. For example, they had games that required the player to have special cards/a deck to put on the interactive flat screen which would reflect on the arcade game. The only way to get these cards was to buy the booster packs with commons, uncommons , a rare and possibly ULTRA rares to use on the arcade interface. Better cards = easier game. Better cards also = more money spent obtaining those cards along with paying the 1-200 yen expense of playing the arcade game.
Cons:
-ALL games usually cost 100 yen (basically in simple conversion 100 yen ~ $1 USD) or more
even OLD games like Street Fighter 2 Turbo.. (Believe it or not, people were still playing old games like this!)
-100 yen games were on the "bargin" end. Other games like the GUNDAM PODS (cool cuz they were large and you actually stepped into a "Gundam" unit, were multiplayer linked across the country) cost around 4-500 yen to play for 10 minutes! Simplified, the Gundam first person pods were just basically first person shooters..
I NEVER saw a game that was under 100 yen.. :( It's easy to blow your paycheck there, since games are at the minimum 100 yen to play but then again, I'm sure many Japanese people have. Of course, I didn't blow my paycheck there..
wise decision
The background music is good!
God i miss japan so much things to do and especially the arcades it's heaven eapecially if your a hardcore gamer thanks for the vid new to your page gonna check put your other vids
Bonjour !
Great vidéo ! Bravo et merci pour le partage KidShoryuken ! ;)
How am I now only seeing your Awesome page!
That's EPIC Never had anything like this in Australia.
The day Japan allows medicinal cannabis is the day I will live this life (shoutout to the JMMA). Thanks for all the content!
Thats intersting that you can smoke in the arcade...most places in America dont allow smokers in public spaces
Nothing has changed in Shinjuku!! I still got the photographs from 2003!! lol
Looks awesome. Would live to go there and enjoy all the classics
Thanks for sharing. Only way to travel on these crazy days.
1 outta 20 reasons to move to Tokyo!!
Nice video 👍
What is the music at 15 :05 please?
It's a beat I found online a long time ago featuring audio from the second Fatal Fury OVA. Can't remember where I found it though.
Ok thanks
YOU HAVE A ICED EARTH HOODIE !!!!!!
DUDE MY FAVORITE ICED EARTH ALBUM IS HORROR SHOW!!!
Wow! Really impressive!
MAN I NEED TO GO BACK TO JAPAN! The arcades were cool. No lie. I played a racing game, some Gundam game and Street FIghter 3rd Strike :D
I went around arcades in Japan quite a bit last year. Not everything is as good as it looks, I noticed a lot of simulators and very few people playing with the "old" beat´em ups (SF, Tekken above all). So in many arcades I noticed that the volume of the popular games were so high that you could barely hear the sound of the "old school" coin-op´s you chose to play with.
Cool Arcades of Tokyo!
That SF3 Dudley remix that played around 21 minutes, what's the name of it?
Great video man, love the random 80's commercials.. haha
You’ve earned a like!
Oooooh! Can't wait to go there!
ARCADE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Also Chicago, the mecca of arcades, companies that made arcades and pinballs.
Is there any music credits?
What's the names of the music artists in this vid?
Sounds great
33:33
I'm so sad to see how empty some of those arcades are :(
this is an awesome channel. Subscribed.
Man what an amazing city
Is it possible to get a list of OSTs you used on this video? lol
Bubble Man's theme in the taito arcade?
great video and ASHLEY looks to be a true gamer girl you dont find that to often in these days any more keep it up
45:03 what game is that? Characters seem familiar but the stage... I don't remember seeing it before.
Alrighty, I found it - it's NEO GEO Double Dragon in case someone else cares
great vid
Well I guess the newer Samurai Spirits was an arcade game, as well as SNK's Tag Team all females fighting game, my guess is KoF XIV was also an arcade machine over there in Japan, keeping the tradition of their fighting games seeing arcade releases first before home consoles (or maybe they released at the same time the last 3 games). Looks like they run off the NESica services that run KoF 98 UM and KoF 02 UM. Even Street Fighter Zero 3 and the Darkstalker games also run off the same service. My guess is you can put several arcade games in, and is cheaper to run as you don't need all those PCB's or arcade cabs to run them, as they all run in 1 cabinet.
love your videos!
winded by a flight of stairs, lol
The Mikado section of this video I swear I have already seen it years ago....
cool :D
This video makes me want to SCREAM!!!!!😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱

Interesting.
Awesome video.
Do you know at which arcade we can play Cave shmups?
Taito HEY in Akihabara has a lot, and there should be some at Mikado in Takadanobaba.
@@MadPanicGaming watching videos of these places now :-)
