J.Brahms - Clarinet Trio in A minor, Op.114 1st movement
In his later years, Brahms indicated in his will that he would compose no more. But when he heard Richard Mühlfeld’s playing, it renewed in Brahms the desire to compose.
The Clarinet Trio by Johannes Brahms, exploits the lyrical and technical possibilities of the clarinet to the fullest and the texture is balanced among the three instruments with both cello and clarinet sharing the lyrical roles.
We hope this mellow and deep music with dramatic narratives, will leave a lasting impression in your heart.
브람스의 클라리넷 트리오는 그의 말년에 쓰여진 작품으로, 브람스가 작곡을 그만 두겠다고 결심을 한 후 클라리넷 주자인 리하르트 뮐펠트를 만나고 나서 다시 영감을 얻어 작곡한 곡입니다.
그의 생애 마지막 시기에 쓰여진 곡인만큼 서정성과 풍부한 낭만성이 깃들어 있으며 특히 클라리넷의 숨겨진 음색을 아름답게 표현한 것으로 잘 알려져 있습니다. 비록 클라리넷 삼중주라는 제목을 가지고 있지만 세악기가 대등하게 서로 사랑에 빠진 것처럼 녹아 들어가 있다는 평가를 받고 있습니다.
곡의 주된 정서는 그리움으로, 아득한 추억을 더듬는 듯한 애틋한 동경에 가득차 있으며 이러한 면은 전악장중 1악장에서 가장 잘 나타납니다. 브람스가 얼마 남지 않은 삶의 아쉬움을 담아낸 클라리넷 삼중주가 듣는분들의 마음에 여운을 남기길 원합니다.
