One helpful tip for a comic/manga creator is to go for a simple story that can go in this formula who/does what(usually a goal for that story)/how(very important, think of how a character tackle the task)/and results. For example a dog/get's a treat/ by begging/ and is given a treat, a man/get's a date/by using roses and chocolate/and had a great date. You can make as many pages as long as it fit's the simple story. Manga lesson is from the Silent Manga Audition website.
I've been watching all your videos I'm an inspired anime artist and want to make a Manga, I appreciate your content and love your style reminds me of bleach 💯 props!
I saw that you started the page thumbnail ..I would like to know a step back from that ..I mean the step where you decide the panel layout or it just happens instinctively when you do the entire page thumbnail?..or do you Doodle something (before the doing the page thumbnail) while going through the script to give you a rough idea of what shape/ size panels are going to be ?
Okay but I can't listen to the background music seriously because I'm so used to hearing it on another channel that's more on the comedy side, but other than that good advice
Hey Whyt Manga, love your manga. Volume 1 is amazing. I have a question. How many chapters would you recommend I should do before planning and finalising the chapters? I've already written the first 5 chapter scripts for my comic. PROJECT Assassination.
Hello o/ I just find your channel and i really like the way You showing Your workflow. I'm 3d artist creator and i make models for games since couple year now and in free time I making my own comics. I was surprised becouse i have no idea how to make stories but my head is full of them. Anyway i started to plann my work b4 i draw and it is much more better now. Today i noticed that you use that cooooool program to make notes i guess and can You tell me what is the name of it? Look like some ios app. Until now i use paper and ipad but heh my comic is kinda..... in progress hope not forever in progress XD Cheers and Thank You a lot for so many tips and videos i now must watch since i just find you o/
Fan of your videos. I think you deliver some real world sensible information for people and that's great. This may be a silly question, but what is the software you are using for scripting and storyboarding like that? I'm unfamiliar with it and it looks great. I've been slogging through scripts to completion before storyboarding, and that's soooo slow. This makes much more sense for time. Regardless, thanks amigo. Appreciate what you do.
hey, your video is very informative, thank you. but do you have a whole series in your channel that can help me how to create a comic book from start to finish? or do you have a online course on how to create a comic book. map out panel on pages, composition of page, thumbnails, storytelling, composition of each panel so as to flow etc? or do you just recommend taking the class of the link you provided
What question did you use for this? the ability to look at your script and storyboard you manga at the same time is awesome. And are you planing on doing any conventions this year?
you do know that the snake wasn't a snake until AFTER Adam and Eve's sin... he started as more of a lizard; for, as punishment, was he turned to a serpent to slither on the ground.
love ur videos whyt and apple black as well. I was hoping if u had any tips for a problem I'm having. a lot of the characters I draw end up with dead eyes or misdirected eyes. I guess the best example I can give is like when an actor stares at the camera during a scene. this really messes me up cause it ruins the facial expression that I'm aiming for and I could use any help I can get
You don't need a video for this, all you need is some study sessions. Pull up some photos from Google Images and learn from them, make sure to really analyze it and pay attention to the little details.
do you experiment with angles and closeness a lot?? I tend to overuse action lines and have the charecter far when throwing but what's neon thrown or swung is always escaping the panel. is that good or bad?? should I try to keep things as closed in as possible?
Making the character pop out of the panel is a technique used to make the action more dynamic, it not only gives it more depth, but it also looks way more badass.
Does anyone know the software he is using? The one with the text on the side with the speech bubbles. I'm going through his manga tools and I haven't found one that matched the interface in the video.
4:02 is when he stops talking about skill share
Wow!! Thanks!!
Dang I’m still at 2:18 thanks
Thank god
Yeah he liked a comment that says the video starts at 4 min in, so I appreciate him keeping it real but also making money
Thank you
just skip to 4 minutes for the actual tutorial
I'm self taught too, since the 90's. Had to learn from books XD
