Speaking of cardamom, as far I know, there are two species of cardamom used in fragrance. They are both in different genus, Elettaria cardamomum (green cardamom), and the other one is Amomum sp. (different species used to produce black cardamom) . And they are smell distinctive to one another. I study plant before delve into perfumery, and sourcing right material indeed take a long time.
Hey Sam!, I love your videos because of the way you explain the things, is just perfect, I’ve learned a lot with you, and I’ll like to offer you my work, I edit videos and I really love to make your UA-cam channel a bit more dinamic in the edit way, is the only thing I see to get better for new people know this beautiful world of perfumery
Hey Sam..great video as always. I know you dont want to recommend any brands, but for novice folks like us, would have been super helpful if you could have named the brands you tested. so we would have known from your experience which one was superior quality & which ones were inferior
I'm curious Sam since I've missed getting a sample set , what style of perfumery do you think you kind of fit into (I mean french Italian , Oriental , British or a mix of some ...) also when do you think you'll be able to restock :) , I'll be checking the store from time to time but there are no guarantees I'll catch one.😅
Apologies for the lack of stock, I was too busy to make more and waiting for new packaging to come through. That’s almost sorted now and new sample sets are planned for September so not long. As for my style - I wouldn’t know how to categorise it since I’m fully self taught, so I’d say it’s my own unique individual style
Wow, I want to just say wow, what you do here is fantastic. I am in the process of setting up my perfume lab. Throughout the day, I just turn on your channel and listen to your commentary, I just learn so much. Thank you!
Hi Sam, any chance you will stock some kind of ‘Perfumers Alcohol’ on The Fragrance Foundry in the near future? It’s needlessly difficult and it’s hard to know who to trust when buying it, even here in the UK.
My advice is to find exactly what you want, and find the CAS number. Yes, perfumer’s alcohol also has CAS. You can then ensure that whatever you’re buying has the same number. There are a lot of sellers out there who sell “perfumer’s alcohol” when in reality it’s just isopropyl alcohol!
Hi, I have a question. I think many people use bases and thing like that but I don’t like using them because someone made them and I like to recreate things by myself. Idk if I Should start using them. Do u use bases in your fragrances? I think it’s just too easy to use bases and it doesn’t require any skills and knowledge…
Hi Sam. I just received my very first Raw meterials/ aroma chemicals from a reputed supplier my question is some items are in sealed pouches and some are in essential oil type bottles (with a small hole on the top). Should I leave them in their original packaging or transfer them into new containers/ bottles? Eg: I have Rose absolute Bulgaria, patchouli dark absolute in essential oil type bottles, orconox and musk ambrette in resealable pouches. How should these be stored? Please help
Bro your channel is so important for the world, in this perfumery niche, you're really important and you will be remembered! Keep it fucking going.
Thanks so much Sam. Please keep this channel running 4 ever

studio looks cozy, Sam!
Your videos are very beneficial to small perfumers. Please keep them coming
I think Thierry Wasser recently went from being the main nose to doing the sourcing for Guerlain

Is it possible to use dyes for colouring the fragrance? Which dyes for colouring?

I pretty understand "terroir" term, because I am very interested in wine production. A really great video, Sam. Thanks!

Where do you buy the bottles to put in the final perfume?
Thanks for the info! 🤗

I make my own bases. If a company decides to no longer supply a base. You're donald ducked
Thank you Sam
Do you produce your fragrances by your own or do you hire someone else to do it
They are all composed by myself and handmade by myself
Saam! Will your app be soon or later available on android? It would be a dream :)
Will organic be generally of higher quality?
Not as far as I’m aware
