Thank you all so so very much for the kind words and concern in the comments. I did just lose my Doberman / Leonardo (as seen in a few previous vids) the night before filming this vid. It took everything to stand in front of this camera and make this vid. He was my first dog, and a dang good one at that! I miss him so much. Again sorry for my lack of excitement or energy in this vid.
Sorry about your loss man, I know how you feel. I lost my French Mastiff last Novmeber, she was my Babygirl!!!! I think about her everyday, Just know that he will always be with you!!!!
Sorry for your loss Techne. I know that pain well. As far as the headset, looks great, if I hadn't already bought a set last year I'd be all over these. The mic sounded great. I still might get them anyway if I can get a good sale or promotion, I loved my wired Blackshark V2s.
LETS GO!! Make more mics like this! Glad to see an improvement like this on an already solid product. I feel like companies don’t improve their products like this often enough.
Sorry for your lost 😢. I have these since you did a review 2 years ago. Your final thoughts are spot on for me. Saying that I’m gonna just spend the extra on the Turtle Beach stealth pros. Thanks for being honest in every review you do and for that I’ll always support you.
After all that years, i guess i found a new headset to buy. Before that, I had like good headphones plus microphone but with that battery life and mic quality, yes its my new main. Thx mate.
Great overview, cheers. Been using the old V2Pro daily since January 2021 and absolutely love it, the noise cancellation wipes out any fans/AC I have running and even cuts out noise from my filthy vaping habit. Comfort is top notch, have worn mine for many marathon sessions. New mic really sounds fantastic, will grab this if my old set ever dies.
It was mentioned nowhere but if you search about it, you will find that the 2023 version (still) has noise issues. So if you just connect it, and dont listen to anything you will hear a very very silent but noticable white noise. This was the reason I had to return the headset. If you enable the feature of hearing yourself, the noise will increase drastically and you will also notice a small very high beeping sound. (I have to admit that you wont hear it, if your ears are a little damaged or your older) But if you hear it, this is a complete dealbreaker. You will find a lots of things about it in the web. Sad, because I really liked the look and quality of the headset.
I bought the older versions back in July and you're able to use the newer software on them. Obviously the 2023's are the way to go if you're needing a new set. Razer rocks !! 😎
If it helps man, I can purchase these from your affiliate link to help you out, but I still hope you feel better. We are all here for you. Take some time off if you need to, we all understand. Much love!
Man, sorry to hear about Leonardo! You still managed to bring one of the best headset reviews. I expected them just to throw usb c in those and call it a day but they really brought it.
I'm deeply sorry for you losing Leonardo and I have two senior pups myself so I know how very important they are to us, they're family and they always will be❤. Sending my love to you and your family brother, Godbless you all 🙏
I frickin love my Blackshark V2 Pro. I'm happy they upgraded it, but mostly disappointed they didn't go full V3. Hopefully they have a V3 Pro in the works.
I’m sorry for your loss. You did an excellent job with the video all things considered. You convinced me to get the original one (wired) which was by far my favorite headset and now you convinced to get the 2023 pros. Thanks!
THANK YOU for actually examining the sidetone feature and confirming its quality. So many reviews gloss over the side tone features of headsets without spending any time in it... and those headsets are terrible for it.
@@Mark-ns3jo It's really good! You have some room to adjust the sidetone volume. There is more background hiss, the closer you get to the max sidetone volume. I put it a little below the max so you get a good amount of sidetone without the background noise.
Sorry about your loss homie. Hes in a much cozier place now. Take a break and take your time. We ain't going no where, well be right here when feel better.
I am sorry for loss. Good review and glad that Razer made the mild upgrade, but getting rid of the 3.5mm jack is a pass for me. For the price, bluetooth should have been simultaneous. I am going to hold on to the original V2.
I basically only play Rainbow six. I can buy the 2020 Siege version for $80 right now. The v2 pro 2023 version is around $200. Would it be worth getting the newer version or just buy the Siege version. Thanks.
Been on my beloved Arctis 3 for 6 years through multiple pad and cable swaps, looking at this V2 Pro. Man, im finding it tough to leave SteelSeries but highly tempted. Serviceability is so important to me. Thanks for this Great Video Techne.
in terms of audio quality, im not sure which one to get between this and the beyerdynamic mmx 300, both headsets are currently discounted here in the uk and was hoping which is better?
what are the best wired headset's for the ps4 with great mic sound and ear cups that do not get your ear's hot at all ? i don't like noise canceling ear cups''
Just have a question? I just purchased a special edition version of the older Blackshark V2 headset. Now I've heard in your video that the 2023 version of the Blackshark microphone sounds miles better than the older version, so my question is this. Can you swap the old mic for the new 2023 mic, and if so.. Will it make the older version sound much better with the newer microphone?
Hi! New to the channel, I really appreciate those great review videos of yours. Would you recommend this new 2023 BlackShark V2 Pro over the Kraken V3 Pro? To me, I value the audio quality the most, so how does the 2023 Blackshark audio sound compare to the Kraken v3 Pro in your opinion?
I ended up buying these headphones a few weeks ago and it's a great headset but the one major flaw that turns me away from using them anymore is the cackling it has. I'm not sure if anyone else has this problem. Anytime I was watching a video or playing a video game with some bass that comes through, it would make this weird glitchy/cackly noise for a brief moment and it would continue doing that a few more times. I couldn't take it anymore.
@@Asksksksk hell no man, I ended up getting the Corsair HS80. It’s something I’m gonna settle with, not too bad but the range could be better. Mic is amazing and sound quality sounds great to me. Highly recommend
Maybe I'd want to upgrade but will wait for the price to go lower. I do not consider the current price point to be worth upgrading given the rather limited improvements. Furthermore Razer's product have the record of significant price cut after a year or more since its initial release. I will use the older version as it still functions perfectly
Was I the only one noticed that the mic EQ did not change anything in the sound? :O I'm just watching videos of the headset and always I heard the change.
This might be a dumb question but you had mentioned these are not compatible for the Xbox, does that also mean they won't work for the Xbox Companion app for PC as well?
100% worth it. Usb-c Bluetooth better microphone and processor same excellent audio. Don’t even consider buying the older v2. Oh and 70 hrs of battery. I’ve charged mine twice
The frequency of these headphones is 12 - 28000, right? But are these numbers when connected via usb or also wirelessly? It happened to me with the HyperX cloud flight that these sounded a little louder when connected.
i really hope this can be the push to headset mics, that's been needed for years. I used to use an external mic, but recently found out i really just enjoy the simplicity of putting your headset on, adn you're ready. I will 100% be getting this headset over the Blackshark v2 i got currently.
Thanks for the review. I can tell it was extremely hard to do & concentrate on. You don't need to apologize. My dog is my service animal, but more importantly he is family. I can't imagine losing him. I am sorry for your loss.
What's the deal with the 2.4ghz dongle? As much as I love the mic on this thing, I wish they were open backs/less isolating, The dongle died on me after 6 weeks. dead/no light. Looked at replacement dongles online and entered a whole new world of it seems like everyone's dongle died pretty quick. That's worrying. Might get a new dongle and sell it off, before the side brackets snap, that's another thing that everyone says happens after a month or 2 :/
God damn it, wasn't gonna by Blackshark V2 pro because it still got the micro usb charging port so I got a Barracuda X instead just last tuesday but now 2 days after... Damn I should've been patient.

This headset is nice looking, especially in white 🤩🤤👍. Mic quality I think is within a pinch, as good as the Corsair HS80 🥰💪which is amazing!🤯. Hey Teche. Ordered theese already. Waiting for shipment. Currently using hyper x cloud core wireless on ps5. So I purchased the original Blacksharks for $60 used like new and then I purchased the newer 2023 versions for used like new for $140 and I'm trying to older version now and let me tell you these things are very comfortable and good price point so I might just return the newer ones when they come in cause the Bluetooth and microphone improvements aren't really useable for me because I use an external mic and don't really need the Bluetooth so the newer features are just features for me. Thanks for the video!
This is probably a dumb question, but I know very little about EQ or tech stuff lol If I adjust the headset settings through my laptop to my preferences, will those settings save onto the headset/cloud (somehow?) when I use the headset on my PS5?
Is adjusting the sidetone only available through software? I'm on linux and can't run razor software, so I can only buy headsets with something like an onboard volume rocker for sidetone
Question: when using the mic, do the headphones remain in high quality (44100Hz or more), or do they go down to "phone quality" (like under 10kHz or around there)? I find that the most annoying thing on my Sony XM1000s: if I start using the mic, their headphone quality goes down the drain… :X
