does is protect factor 2 falls?

the rope is dynamic and im sure the cam would slip a little, but you still never want to fall on personal anchors, even factor 1 falls

Yes. It complies with UIAA109 so it is tested for a factor 2 fall.
But it's not a via ferrata lanyard, so I don't think your lower back would like the experience of a factor 2 fall on this.
