3 Minute Bladesmithing Lesson: Forging an integral with no tooling

- This is a thought/skill exercise that eliminates aids such as fullers and monkey tools and forces the smith to focus on accurate double sided shoulders, single sided shoulders and cross peen work. Starting stock is 5/8 square.
No power hammer, no press, just fire, hammer, and anvil. Nicely done.
Love it..excellent work & tuition..much appreciated..!!

Man that's some beautiful forging
Awesome work and skill!
Thanks so much for this love seeing your hammer work🙏🙏🤌
Gol' dang Nick just seeing you hammer out this small integral makes me realize what a wizard you are with a hammer, anvil, and steel. I don't know why I haven't seen you forge before but I know I've heard your name brought up by dozens of makers and now I am gonna have to binge watch your various or videos you are in to see if I can pick up a few tricks, tips, and skills.
really great work and quick demonstration, thanks for putting this up for us that don't have all the fancy tools!
SMART BLADESMITHING. THANKS FOR SHARING.
Круто. Хочу такой отковать давно уже, два раза пробовал пока не получается без приспасоб
Really enjoyed this quick video and also found d it very useful. Used this same procedure to attempt my first integral. Came out pretty good for a first attempt. Thanks for the video
Thanks for watching! Glad it was helpful!
Dude that’s awesome! I’m gonna do my first integral from round bar this weekend. Great video!
Man, that is some clean work!
Amazing work - thanks for the demo!
Wow 😮- Thanks for the lesson. I’d be tickled shitless if my work turned out that clean. Time to practice
amazing work i would love to get that good forging 👍👍
Great job... I am a wannabe Blacksmith who also wants to be a bladesmith... I saw your post on the Maritime Blacksmiths group. I subbed and liked. You got great smithing skills, I'd say you have been doing this for a good while. Thanks for showing your project.... Be well...
top de mais, a forma como forjou a ponta nunca havia visto fazer desse jeito muito bom parabens
How long did it take real time? Awesome vid!
Very cool
Sweet
What was the starting size of the bar and how much did you use?
Hey Joe. It was 3/4 stock and I’m pretty sure it was 2.5”.
@@nicholasrossi3656 Thanks man. It didn’t look that long and you had a lot more meat left on the tang and the bolster than I would’ve left. I have a bunch of the old secret sauce W-2 including some three-quarter round bar And I’m trying to figure out how to get a three knife integral kitchen set out of each foot long bar.
This isn't a lesson. If you're not talking, you're not teaching.
