JCole is GOAT for me, & I just got introduced to his art and character a few months ago. I can say the only reason that I know (unwillingly) more about Kanye is because of clout., & even w/all that, never been a seeking fan of his music, just respectful of his existence as a human. For me, there was way too much echo longevity on his vocals, and I, like George was waiting for the drums and sound to pick up. It reminds me of a time I was stoned and put on some meditation type tunes, and realized after 5 whole ass minutes in that I was waiting for the beat to drop. ☠️
I like this joint...The album is DOPE...I wouldn't call it a CLASSIC but it is DOPE...There's definitely some EXPERIMENTAL music on the album. This album will stand the test of time because he pushes the boundaries so much with this one. Kanye has never played it safe and always challenges his artistry, this album has got so much hate but alot of love and I just see it as a piece of art and most art is valued you more once the artist is gone.
I think it's worth acknowledging that this is an artist with a well known serious and untreated mental illness (bipolar disorder). That's not an insult, that's just a fact about his health. He wrote and released this album while exhibiting a lot of signs that he was in the throes of an acute manic crisis. He suffers from the same situation that other people in public eye have gone through (Britney, obviously), where they can become really, really mentally unwell and do not receive the treatment they need like any other person would because they are just too rich and too famous to be forced to do anything they don't want to do. In Britney's case, she was generating too much money for other people for her to be able to take the time she needed to step back and recover from her illness. With Kanye, he has a reputation for being over the top, dramatic, narcissistic, eccentric and that can be hard to separate from mania. He also just has too much money and power to be forced into treatment. As a result, he is left to be unwell, ruin his relationships, make a fool of himself and, apparently, release pretty awful music. The average, non-famous person, would have been treated involuntarily to help them regain their health and not make these life-changing decisions that he would probably regret when well. It's sad.

Gotta listen to this song 5 to 10x and it becomes one of the best songs ever. A song has never grew on me more than this one.
You guys should've done Off The Grid or Jesus Lord, I'm not a fan of the choir stuff and a lot of the songs on this album felt like they went nowhere but those two really stood out.
just say you’ve never been to a black church and move on
@@thesaucegod3136 Lmao great way to avoid addressing the actual criticism I guess
@@ProgPro96 ratio
George got the drums he was asking for!, at the end of the song 😂
the beginning is the end is the beginning
JCole is GOAT for me, & I just got introduced to his art and character a few months ago.
I can say the only reason that I know (unwillingly) more about Kanye is because of clout., & even w/all that, never been a seeking fan of his music, just respectful of his existence as a human.
For me, there was way too much echo longevity on his vocals, and I, like George was waiting for the drums and sound to pick up. It reminds me of a time I was stoned and put on some meditation type tunes, and realized after 5 whole ass minutes in that I was waiting for the beat to drop. ☠️
@@galixyzzz start at the beginning for Kanye. Watching his sound evolve is next level. J-Cole is great too though.
@@th3on3thatb3atu I admire/value evolution, might take a look into it. Tx!
Kanye told the drummer to go home and take the day off and then when he got home said “Hey need you to come in real quick, thanks”.
I like this joint...The album is DOPE...I wouldn't call it a CLASSIC but it is DOPE...There's definitely some EXPERIMENTAL music on the album. MOST of it HITS the MARK and SOME of it DOESN'T...The IDEA of the ALBUM is a MASTERPIECE. The EXECUTION of the ALBUM falls a bit SHORT of that, but like I said it is STILL a DOPE album!!!...#GiveMeJESUS
Its super dope...wayyy better than i went in expecting
i fuck with your grammatical structure
@fukka That can be true SOMETIMES but Illmatic was called a CLASSIC from the BEGINNING...FROM the CRITICS to the STREETS everyone PRAISED that ALBUM...I personally don't know ANYONE who didn't think that Illmatic was not a CLASSIC when it came out...#GiveMeJESUS
Fam chill
This song is fire imo & personally one of my favorites on the album
You know what the best thing about this channel…is the honesty…
You guys are awesome!
Come To Life is the best off of the album and the greatest Ye song of all time in my opinion.
Yesssssss 👍👍👍
Congrats on 1m subscribers ya’ll!
I lowkey think recently kanye doing instrumental how he like it then adding something for the people at the end is dope. I think it has something to do with his new device he's producing. Then you can combine them.
This is one of those album songs that wont stand out unless you continue listening thru the next song.
It stood out for me tbh
I love this song honestly and moon is fantastic as well
So you nod your head to the beat cool
@@Phantom-vo8jy what is that supposed to mean
@@matthewg2462 you already know 😂 ain't no reading between the line...
Hope you guys have an opportunity to check out "Off The Grid" one of the hardest main stream tracks to come out this year 🔥
Them clowning Ye is hilarious
Right.... 2 UA-camrs clowning a musical genius/billionaire is quite hilarious
@@rightnearthebeach "Musical genius" lol get real
We listening tho
@@Vivi_9 his 22 Grammy Awards and 1.8 billion net worth says he is 💁♂️
@@16MattyG you can't be a musical genius if you can't sing or play an instrument lol
Years and years later I STILL can't figure Kanye out. He walks the line between genius and madness, and I just never know what side he leans to.
Yes
@@shoomert 🤣🤣 honestly
Jay coulda really killed it if he said “God in my cells, that’s my celly.” Like God in my DNA.
PLEASE REACT TO THE WHOLE ALBUM PLEASEEEEEEEEE OR JESUS LORD THAT ONE ITS AMAZING
jAYZs versus was so much FREAKIN FIRE............. LAWD HAVE MERCY
Yo you guys gotta do Off the Grid... Fivio snapped harder than any feature on the album
I like that Jay Z went there on Kanye’s own album lol
The beginning sounds like Phil Collins trying to do EDM.
how is this even remotely close to EDM? lmfao
@@cantu7214 Have you ever listened to EDM? This whole track is basically an EDM track with the bass left out. Although I sounds more like Phil Collins. Hence why I said Phil Collins TRYING to do EDM.
@@nuisance78 sounds like a rock ballad to me
@@M360-w6o That's basically what EDM is. Electronic Arena Rock.
Hence why I said Phil Collins trying to do EDM. It sounds like Phil Collins if he used EDM production software.
@@nuisance78 the only instruments on this track are guitars, hardly EDM tbh
Not the track fellas, basically the intro to the album. Next 5 or 6 are all much closer to the rest of the project, Off the Grid, Praise God, and Hurricane are great in particular.
Nobody breaks down songs the way yall do on all of UA-cam. We got whole albums from cole, kanye and drake in the past few months but not enough reactions/reviews from you. Would love to see some breakdowns soon
Yeah they really don't do hip hop ND RNB no more
@@peters10456170 So they've finally become Metalheads? 😂
@@nuisance78 I don't wanna say they sold out the fans that made their channel famous but... 🤷
@@peters10456170 most of their patron fans are rock/metal fans and I think most of their highly viewed videos are metal reactions like Master of Puppets
@@billserad1869 actually if you look back on when they were doing hip hop reviews their views were way higher.. even now when they do hip hop it gets higher views.
Loved this video
Come on guys we need the rest of the album, you break it down so well!!!!!
To be honest I like the whole song even without the drums Jay Z verse is the reason he’s in most people top 5️⃣ his verse was 🔥 unmatched man
I have a feeling the video for this will be EPIC.
He said it(JAIL) was the Artist formally known as Prince inspired. He starve you of Drums then he keep u coming back for more... when he gives u more drums then you anticipated at the end. That boy goooood.
I heard you, but I was staring at the static in George's chair and also quite distracted by the green screen reflections in your faces on this video for some reason. All in all...Great reaction! Oh, and the part with the beat sounded like Miami Vice music from the 80's....or The Ferris Bueller Song By Yello- Oh Yeah
.... (Bow bow) Oh yeah (Chick chicka chicka)
Jail reminds me so much of waves and that song was just on point. Both songs are underrated.
Great episode y’all made me laugh hard. Loved this album.
Big thumb up brother! Love your channel 😂👏🙏🏼🔥
Gotta do Jesus Lord next. One of Ye’s best and most introspective verses in a while. Jay Elec also goes nuts on it as well🔥🔥🔥
Lol they did not get opening of the song, he’s in the perspective of someone who got pulled over by police
It would be great if you guys could react to some dope old school stuff, not the obvious ones of course. Just some you think we should hear...who's with me?
The part they don’t understand or don’t like is where the genius in Kanye shine for me.
Y’all DEFINITELY gotta check out any other song on the album tho. My favorites are off the grid, come to life, Jesus lord, moon, and hurricane. I love this album
Thank you for the reaction , needed you guys to weigh in on this
This album will stand the test of time because he pushes the boundaries so much with this one.
It's sad.
Pt 2 with DaBaby is so good, maybe y’all can be able to react to it whenever
Y’all back!!! Lets go
this song fully feels like social commentary on the times, and alienation/cc/and a lack of path for redemption.
I love you guys take on this song. Keep up the great work!
Y’all gotta do the whole album
Great reaction/analysis gentlemen.. Much appreciated!!
I actually reckon this song is fire as
The beat is hectic being high aha
