"Summer Samba" I played the heck out of that tune on my Hammond B3 when the song was popular way back when. I have the Walter Wanderly "Rain Forest" LP and CD. I like Phil's arrangements. He plays with a nice rhythmical bounce. As to sambas; I have never tried playing any kind of Latin American sambas such as these or "The Girl From Ipanema" on my Wurlitzer 2/11.
Hi HD7100 - I had to play for dancing during my Summer Seasons at Aberystwyth Kings Hall and Skegness Suncastle, Embassy Ballroom and Festival Pavilion and during our time in Clubland we had residences at the Nottingham Oddfellows in Leicester City Centre and Saffron Lane WMC. Easy work work but lower fees than our show dates. We were working most weeks around seven days a week for over twenty years. No need for a metronome! In Aberystwyth we did some special "Balls" at the KIngs Hall and we were joined by our agent Stanley Osborne (Clarinet, Saxophone and Violin) late of Billy Thorburn's The Organ, The Dance Band and Me - He was higly delighted with our efforts and so were the councillors. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, PAUL.
Marvellous thank you
