Reminds me of the wartime years when the Tower ballroom was crammed full of young people in uniforms dancing to the Wurlitzer. Does your heart good listening to such good playing .. Marjorie Holmes in New Zealand
Marjorie Holmes - my Dad met my Mum at the Tower Ballroom Blackpool during early WW2. He then spent the entire war in Burma, came back in one piece and they got married. So much for Match.com 😊. Greetings from N America.
It fills your heart with joy listening and in a day when the world just seemed to spin in a better way. Total innocence and wonderful playing to boot. Well done and thanks Phil.
Its simple... This man is very simply the best. He is right on his game hear. That's why so many people aged 5 to 95 come to see him on this magical instrument.
Great music from Phil reminds me of when I use to go to the Blackpool Tower with my late husband Eric who I might add played the Tower Wurlitzer once many years ago he played the organ in a band called The Deeside Seven...
Wonderful!Blackpool Tower has should be.It's always a great joy to go and enjoy the atmosphere of the Ballroom listening lovely music from the Wurlitzer and Wersi Louvre played by talented musicians. A great organist filmed by another marvelous organist.Thank you.
Fantastic he comes second to Reg Dixon it was a time which would be better if could go back it reminds when I was 5 now I am 70 thanks Phil I shook his hand in Brighouse at the Ritz Wurlitzer but alas it has gone but saved by Yorkshire Org Soc
Roger Lockwood Great still with us though the organ was indeed moved it came originally from Oldham 'Yorkshire' saved AND moved it lucky for us all Gordon Exmouth
Craig Smith. So must I. I'm in London and quite old and disabled, but I don't want to 'kick m'clogs' before seeing and hearing this iconic instrument. Good luck, Mr Smith!!
I worry about the future of this place - look on the dance floor. Old folk (and kudos to them for being able to have such evident fun at their age!) and not many of them. Where are the younger players, too?. We've got the excellent Richard Hills, but he's not a dance organist. Gone are the days when Blackpool could pack 20,000+ people into its ballrooms... instead the sheeple cram into ghastly nightclubs. In hope and prayer, a disillusioned 20-year-old...
Thanks for the quick answer. I am very glad I found all this fantastic music and I would like to get some CD´s or even better DVD´s, if you can inform me if there are some place on the net to buy.
I wonder what the screen to the right is, is it the notes for the music or just a mirror to check the dancers+ there is also a little round gadget to the right, what is that?
It has nothing to do with his finger nails, its the actual keys that you are hearing ,his finger nails are trim...Why the hell am I answering this anyhow.....
After listening to Phil on here we booked afternoon tea at the Tower last summer and went to hear him live. Well worth it if you're near enough to go.
The best music interments ever invented, and a great organist, wish I could play one.
I know of no other man in the world who is more "In His Element" than seeing/watching/hearing Phil Kelsall at the Blackpool Wurlitzer!!!!!!!!!! :-)
Unbelievable !
I just love the sound that comes from the Wurlitizer Hats off to the men and Ladies that can play it.

Just like to sit and listen to phil play the wurlitzer awsome on legend.
I love hearing the difference between theater/cinema style and ballroom playing.
Quality...to do that when people are dancing in Strict Time as well, marvellous!

Wonderful style and showmanship, right down to hit the stops with style. Great talent!

Absolutely incredible playing. Wonderful!
FANTASTIC WHAT A GREAT PLAYER PHIL IS.
I used to have one. It used 6SN7s, had two manuals and 13 pedals.
For some reason, it didn't sound quite like this one...
His is great !!!!!!
Dam good video. Realy nice to Phil showing off. Also nice to see the floor quite full..
A mirror for watching dancers...other 'gadget' is a camera for filming on the huge screen when required.
Fantastic he comes second to Reg Dixon it was a time which would be better if could go back it reminds when I was 5 now I am 70 thanks Phil I shook his hand in Brighouse at the Ritz Wurlitzer but alas it has gone but saved by Yorkshire Org Soc

Gordon Exmouth
I love how Phil constantly checks the mirror to see if everyone is dancing in sync.
I love it! Absolutely amazing, Phil!!
Thanks...if you go to Phil's website you can obtain from there.. just type in his name in Google and you will find his site..
This reminds me I must try and get down to Blackpool and see the 2 top Organists in the UK. Its long overdue..
Craig Smith. So must I. I'm in London and quite old and disabled, but I don't want to 'kick m'clogs' before seeing and hearing this iconic instrument. Good luck, Mr Smith!!
Great
This music just gives me chills to listen to. What are the songs in this medley?

@TheXxmetalmanxX I want also wurlitzer
Why do they have a Wersi Lovre in the ballroom? Is the Wurlitzer sometimes out of action?
prefer JOhn Bowlders style more in line with reg dixons style
Great! What tunes was played in this video?
I like that you can hear the keys click click clacking.
this guy needs to trim his fingernails, you can hear them tapping on the keys compared to the other people who play this organ
