    Love mine!
    Picked up a used 17 Continental Reserve with only 12,700 miles, 2.7L AWD, White exterior, w/ mocha and espresso interior, not all the options, but almost. Did lots of research on these and then found this spectacular example and absolutely love it! If you ever get a chance to drive one, do it!

    This is a car that I wanted to drive ever since it came out! My uncle was a Ford/Lincoln dealer for many years but was retired long before this car came on the market. Prior to his retirement I could sample all the new Ford and Lincoln products and for many years I owned a bunch of their products and was partial to them as a result. I bet I would love this car as well.

    Took one out last week and it was very nice. I found the quality to be much better than Cadillac and almost as good as the Germans and the back seat was huge. The other Lincolns still had the cheap plasticky feels with the materials but not this car. The seats are fantastic also. I feel the only weak point is the rear, it doesn't look nearly as good as the front. This is what Cadillac needs to be, this is a well done car.

    Bring the Towncar back. 1985 Lincoln Towncar Signature series was my first car, and I loved it.

    Traded in my Lexus LS and Lexus RX. Love this car. Really do like the Rolls-esque back-end, Bentley-esque front-end, overall style, unbelievable 0-60 5 second performance, and the massaging seats are incredible. Thought I would miss my Lexus, Acura, and BMW...but really glad I can come back to American made.

      Miss the rear wheel drive? Not by a long shot. This Continental is much more substantial than any Avalon, and the Lexus I traded in.

    Continental is a class of it's own. I've owned Lexus, BMW and Acura for over 18 years. Quality of this 2017 Continental is the best. The other makes have not kept up. Love the new look, luxurious and masculine combined with the latest technology make me excited for Lincoln.

    Beautiful craftsmanship but 400\400 even is a bit worrying. Time will tell after a year old and all the bugs are out. I just wish they'd put those seats in a F150 lol. Are you going to Toronto? If so don't forget the restaurant Le Piment Rouge ....

    Speaking as an owner of the previous generation Lincoln. The kind of attention I experienced when pulling into a gas station, was akin to a Mercedes. I remember people asking me what it was, and remarked about its beauty. This car does show prestige but is not as alluring as its predecessor. Do a side by side comparison and see for yourself. Also, the V8 engine is preferable to the turbo charged V6. I owned a 2000 Pontiac Bonneville SSE with Supercharger option. That car, and the Lincoln Continental 98-2002 had two things in common. Long Hoods, and V8 power. I know the Bonneville had a 3.8 liter six cylinder engine. But with the Supercharger it felt like an 8 cylinder, not gimmicky like a turbo. Some owners of Lexus, Mercedes, Jaguar, and the like may know the joys of American luxury. But I knew many people from other countries that sought only the aforementioned, and BMW as status symbols. They didn't know the joys they were missing. My first car was a 1985 Chrysler Lebaron GTS Turbo in 1990, and my second was a 1987 825SL Sterling in 1992. Purchasing the Sterling put me in a prestigious car category, and I was 18. People were curious about me and if the car was mine. But I still wanted to drive cars like the Buick Regal Grand Sport or a Chevy Lumina Eurosport of the time. While new innovations can elevate a brand, status is what most buyers gravitate to. Ford / Lincoln misfired on the new continentals exterior in my opinion. Thank you for your review.

      The overall design is definitely beautiful in my eyes after seeing one in person. It would have a more prestigious look if it had a longer dash to axle ratio. You can tell its FWD which kinda kills its prestige.

      I took delivery of my Continental Reserve this past weekend. As the salesman took me to get the free tank of gas, a guy in a Cadillac literally rolled up, rolled down his window and told me nice car. I am definitely getting the looks. Not as much as when I drive my NSX, but if a Cady driver takes time out of his drive to swing through and talk to me, then that's saying something.PS. I have the all wheel drive, and it works flawlessly. Quiet luxury for sure. I don't miss the rear wheel drive Lexus I just sold...at all.

      I am glad Rival owners find appeal with Lincoln's reboot of the Continental. If the design holds longer than the MKS's refresh. Then I think the Continental has whip appeal. But we'll know in a couple of years won't we. I want to ask if anyone noticed the style combination of the Mark VIII and Mercury?

      I used to be a huge fan of the V8, especially Ford's Coyote (would keep spinning no matter what you throw at it).
      However after getting the 2.7L V6 Ecoboost ive completely changed my mind. Its so quick and so much more responsive that frankly I always accidentally find myself speeding. Throw it in sports mode and it feels like a sports car despite it being a heavy truck.

    I thought Lincoln was sunk years ago and may as well have just been dropped. This car shows that FoMoCo is listening. This is a true luxury car for the first time. Now Lincoln needs to stop rebadging Fords in all their other models. I absolutely love this car. My only gripe is, where are the rear seat screens? I have an 8 year old.

    That chrome fender garnish is horribly out of alignment. I've noticed Ford is by far the worst offender on this aspect of quality control, especially in their interiors. And those wheels are homely, imo.

      Something definetly wrong at the factory. It's already on many different videos and oddly it happens with only driver's door misalignment. They have to find bad apple fast!

      I have owned 3 Lincoln's and loved them all but this 2017 Continental is amazing. Base at around 44 K all to way up to my favorite the 400 hp, awd beast but unforturately loaded with every option in the lincoln store is a bit over the top. Lincoln....please get a new wheel designer...I have alway said the wheel, must be 20" on luxury cars, make the vehicle. Continental puts no exterior badging on this beauty so the only indication of list price is the wheel size.....again Lincoln, please get some hot aggressive designs. Better yet PUSH the HOT ROD LINCOLN! That;s what this red neck wants.

      Jack Eury, I agree, those rims are horrible. I can't find one style or size that's agreeable, they all look cheap and flat. I love the seats, ride, AWD, power and the look the car.

    Okay, ready? I own a 2014 Mercedes CLS 550, awesome car, also have a 73 Grand Prix w a 455 in my garage, I've owned many Lincolns, mostly Mark series, few town cars, and a FWD Continental, then went foreign, a Beemer and 3 Benzs, this is a awesome car, yes I wish it was an 8 cylinder, but the world is changing, Benz is putting 4 cylinder motors in the E Class now, drive the 3.0 reserve, its phenomenal, fast quiet, and sharp, looking for a better lease # , but hey I'll wait, drove the CT6 rode like trash, infinity a joke , drive it, then judge it

    There are few things that I don't like about new Lincoln continental and they are it has two levers instead of one lever, no rear wheel drive, and it looks like mixture between jaguar and Bentley.

    Its hard to put a finger on it but there is something off with proportions of the exterior. The rear and front dont match and/or it looks as if the rear is off a much smaller car. And the front end is incredibly derivative of recent Jaguars but not nearly as well done. It all reminds me of a Korean luxury car from 15 years ago trying to mimic luxury rather than putting forth a cohesive design, although i do like the door handles trick. Why does any car maker not get that a nice set of wheels (filling the wheel well) makes a huge difference in appearance - see Honda Accord Sport. So why not put forth your best looking version for review? Its all really annoying b/c this luxury car segment doesnt exactly require an overwhelmingly beautiful exterior to be a success. And thats a shame b/c the interior looks good and is a pretty good attempt at creating their own unique "brand" of luxury. Regardless, good review!

    • @paxtonwilliams8556
      @paxtonwilliams8556 7 років тому

      Yeah, i went to their website and checked it out after your comment. They do make the car look better (the front/rear proportions are still off at certain angles). So I say again, why on Earth would anyone not give you a car optioned as such? Whats that old expression about 1st impressions.....

    • @jakereal3604
      @jakereal3604 7 років тому +1

      Paxton I agree with you about proportions, but that applies to just about ALL new/late model cars! All one has to do is sit at a stop light for 45sec to 1 min and study the cars on the cross road passing by! All you see on most cars is two big doors and a short stubby hood and short rear deck. I own several 1960s cars and they are elegantly proportioned! I own a 1970 Mark III and to me it looks elegant, regal and luxurious from ANY angle!

    I drove this car before buying my '17 Lexus ES350. While the car looked nice it felt unexciting and I felt as if I was driving an overpriced Ford. I really don't see many of these on the road in South Florida, where I live. There was a time Lincoln Towncars were seen all over but these don't appear to be selling well at all. Actually, the same can be said for the Cadillac CT6 too!

    • @aurorajones8481
      @aurorajones8481 7 років тому +5

      You say overpriced Ford but what you purchased is a overpriced Camry. Im not saying the ES is bad but the MKZ isn't bad either. Just because a platform is reused doesn't mean its trash. Funny you said that because I recently test drove a 17 GS in both guises and found them both to be meh. While the Lincoln sang to me. To each their own.

    • @STEVE33437

    very disappointed. the interior quality is not much better than what is found in the new lacrosse... i was really hoping Lincoln could finally make something to take on Cadillac. the only thing that seems like its able to match or come close to the CT6 is the seats, other than that cheaper materials, less features, and over all less luxury.

      Justin Bouche Clearly you have not sat in the new Continental. Comparing the interior quality to that of a Buick LaCrosse is asinine, and just downright ludicrous. Especially for someone who claims to be a car guy. What is also asinine is claiming that the new Conti has cheaper materials, less features, and less luxury than the CT6. That tells me right away that you probably haven't sat in a CT6 either. I have, and like I mentioned in my other reply to your biased and unfair comments, when you sit in the Conti, you immediately recognize that what you are sitting in is a luxury flagship. There is so much ridiculous focus on the rear passengers, and that is what a luxury flagship should be all about. As for the CT6, the interior is excellent, yes, but when you sit in it, it just looks and feels like any other sporty Caddy. There is a ton of focus for the driver and front passenger, but hardly any for the rear passengers, and that just makes the CT6 more of a well-refined driver's car, not a true luxury flagship.
