    Love this train like an athlete style workouts. I workout to see what my body can do athletically, not necessary the weight. Athletic performance training > conventional strength training

    As a 31 year old currently recovering from Achilles surgery the lower limb has become really important to me. All these years training and i've neglected the toes, feet, achilles and soleus. Cant wait to learn more from Brian and the others who are putting time and effort into training these areas and implement some of these concepts into my training when i'm healthy again.

    Great content. I was a decathlete and also a shot put coach of a National champion. I believe the shot putter you showed doing plyometric bounding was Gurner Wutner (sp?). 6'7" 22+m glide thrower of the 80's. I was very interested in utilizing eccentric contractions in training but Brian has developed these ideas extensively and intelligently. Good job Brian! Edit: His name was Werner GÜNTHÖR with a PB of 22.75 in 1988, no.8 all time.

    I’ve always had monkey toes, can pick up stuff. It was just to make ppl laugh but I realized it’s a good thing.
    IStarted going barefoot last year and working on calf strengthening. Im a bodybuilder but started running too. So This was so interesting I have a little trampoline I do different feet positions. I’m excited to learn all this. Thanks so much!

    Love this guy, but powerlifing and bodybuilding made me a way better athlete in high school. Took a half second off my 40 and went from average wrestler to second ranked in my region. I think training a compound strength base AND McGinty method would be ideal.
    There was no explosive training back then, but squatting and Deadlifting made me more explosive and quick, especially on the mat.

    What was the author of the book mention at about 17:30-19:00?? Science and practice of strength training is what I think it was

    Brian and mark both mention different names regarding Marv Marinovich’s mentor but then agree that the same person wrote the book, “the science and practice of strength training” who was actually written by Vladimir Zatsiorsky. Again, none of them mention his name. Brian says something like Jiri volashawnski??? And then mark says Jiri Brezenski??? Both say Jiri. Does anyone know who Marvs mentor actually is?

    2:09:18 that's crazy because I can sprint on the concrete barefoot, I do it in the grass with pinecones and rocks, but I still struggle at the trail with the little fine rocks where the trail is made up of nothing but little fine rocks and I can't do it, I think it's because I start to accumulate in between the toes and then my mind is stuck in my toes instead of moving forward. You certainly can build a tolerance

    1:43:57 because of Dane at GS, i started implementing in plyos to my week. I though L Simmons, how he preached speed work+variety, so I started doing UL via strength, and via speed/power and all my strength work went up. It is valuable, esp for managing recovery of the muscles, the CNS, and managing response time

    Holy cow my dude, stop blowing out your sinuses DIRECTLY into the microphone. YOU'RE ON THE RADIO. Some good info here and some things I'd like to play around with, but this podcast is borderline unlistenable.

    Truly hilarious conversation with a group of people who clearly have no idea how to train athletes. If it wasn’t so funny listening to the examples it would be embarrassing.
    All one needs to do is look at the “elite” athletes results who compete in track to see none of this garbage actually transfers to athletic performance. One of his main spotlight athletes high jumps 4’10 and Lj 14’7…. That is all. Quick feet don’t equal speed and power. “On your toes” 😂😂😂
