I swear, you are like the Rocketbook expert! Love all your reviews on the Rocketbook. I’ve got my own Rocketbook Everlasting and still love it. The hardcover on this though is a ‘game changer’ from its past iterations. The only thing that worries me is the pen insert on the front page. My pen station elastic loops came undone a few months into it. I think the final iteration for rocketbook is how they handle the storage of the wiping cloth and spray bottle. Although I think for most people leaving that at home is fine if they’re using the Rocketbook as an everyday carry.
Thanks! Good points. So far the elastic has held up well for me, but it would be challenging to repair if anything were to go wrong. Having said that, even if that broke, I’d still choose the Axis for its folding mechanism… So cool.
That's a very sad moment indeed... Maybe you need some pens that are unique enough that you notice if you aren't using them - I have started using some premium metal pen bodies for the FriXion ink, that way, it is obvious to me (from weight, colour, etc) that I am using the right pen. And it doesn't have to be expensive metal pens, but maybe just a blue FriXion pen body vs standard black pens, etc. Either way, good luck!
It’s worth it just to get away from the floppy cover IMO. I wish it were available now. I like to take notes in my lap and the current one just doesn’t work unless I also have a book underneath it.
The one thing holding me back from ordering a rocketbook is that I wish I could scan pages as PNG files, with the white page being turned into a transparent background. I'd want to use this for sketches and if I could just keep the lines it would be perfect for me
I’ve had mine about 48 hours now and I hadn’t noticed little ring hooks. Swapping page packs feels just like swapping the Orbit. I also hadn’t noticed the magnets in the cover because I’ve only been opening it flat on the table. Great review. 👍🏻
Well I’m glad you found the review helpful and that you learnt something. Try single-page mode - it is the best part by a far! The hinge design is great. It took me way longer than I would care to admit to realize that the covers could be squeezed together like that, but since realizing that, I haven’t been using it in the 2-page mode anymore 👍

well finally got the overpriced Pro/axis. was erasing a page with the towel and it ripped from the rings. not a fan . i waited a long time for this and its a let down. the binder is already getting dirty. ..... the ring should be hinged so u can mix and match the original critique of the orbit.
I live in Europe and can't find any informations on when the axis/pro will be available to purchase here. I don't know if we're looking at like a few weeks/months or if it's more like a year from now ?
Great video. I was experiencing decision paralysis whether to commit and try Pro or just keep using my Core, and you addressed all of my concerns, and I'll take the plunge and try the Pro.

I got one with the Kickstarter and unfortunately my pages are starting to rip through the metal rings. One page fell out already. I've barely used it :(
One thing missing for this (to avoid getting the folio) is a flap in the back to hold the towel and a holder for the spray bottle. I think, too, for left-handed writers best to get the Orbit and Orbit folio.
I can’t wait to order this! I’ve been waiting for this for the last year, trying to wait for it to release and not to buy the Orbit. But I still got it and loved it! My suggestion for Rocketbook is to make a Orbit/Axis Capsule for owners of both and use both equally. Kind of like the Letter Capsule II that lets you hold an Letter, executive and a mini as well as a few cards. I hope the front and back cover allows owners to put decals on them so they can add a bit of personality to their Axis
Nice suggestions 👍 The Axis exterior does have a texture to it, but it is smooth enough to attach a pen station, so I suspect it would take decals as well ✌️
Sorry, just seeing this now - there is actually a new Rocketbook Pro - the one in this video was their original for the Kickstarter launch. The “New Pro” has three colours (black, blue and green) and a few changes - I am making a video update about the “New Pro”, which should be out next week. The pen pool is gone, instead they recommend you attach to the spine with the pen cap clip.
I love Rocketbook. My Orbit is awesome, the only problem is when I need to carry it around. The capsule is super bulky, so it does not help. Please combine the Orbit and the Pro as shown in the attached image. And do not forget to offer graph page packs with it. Perhaps this could be just an updated version of the capsule, a "Rocketbook Orbit Capsule 2.0"... Engineers and lefties will be very grateful
Nice video. It looks like they are out of stock in the US as well...and the Notify me when Available button does not work on their website. Question though about the Rocketbook App -- can you select to "email" it rather send it to photos or cloud or evernote, etc. ?
You can have it automatically send to an email address as a pre-configured destination, or you can use the standard “share” feature on your phone to email it once it has been scanned into your App’s Scan History. I have a destinations video you may find helpful 👍
That’s strange. I don’t know about European availability, but if you contact Rocketbook through their website, they should have a better idea for you (getrocketbook.com) 👍
Over time the pages do discolour a little, the effect is called Ghosting and I have a whole video about it. In general, Rocketbook recommends you erase within 30-days to reduce these effects. But their contrast enhancement within the App prevents this from impacting the scanned files.

There are lots of pens that are compatible with FriXion cartridges, but that usually don’t come with FriXion ink. What you want to look for is pens that can work with Pilot G2 cartridges. Ones I have are from Tactile Turn, Autmog and Machine Era, but make sure whatever you get, it is Pilot G2 compatible + that you swap out the cartridge to a FriXion one before using it with a Rocketbook! ✌️

I am going to be studying Music Education in the Fall and love the style or the Pro. I'm trying to decide if it is worth it to leave behind the music staff page pack that's available for the Orbit for the easiness of single page use of the Pro. I could also make my own music staff using a blank page pack and a fine-tip sharpie, but if they already have one for the Orbit, it shouldn't be too hard to make one for the Pro, right?
Do you know if you can get manuscript paper page packs?? Also, is there the potential on the app to also upload normal paper sheets (eg, scores, articles, diagrams, worksheets) so it can all be stored in the same place? Im looking at pads for my music degree
Hello Jake, Cool vidéo ! I am personally using MOYU notebooks. I have tried few brands (rocketbook included) and I have to say MOYU offer the best writing experience, super close from normal paper. It just work the same way: stone paper, erasable with wet cloth, rewritable 500 times per page, etc. I see you have a lot of video on those rocketbook and that you are affiliate with them, but I really suggest that you should try a moyu notebook to compare, they also have really cool designs
That is the AutMog 36 pen I think - I have a full video on it. AutMog creates small batches of pens manually, so you’ll have to check their site regularly or subscribe to hear about new batch releases 👍
That is impressive that it claimed your top spot from the Flip. -- I agree that the covers are lacking, because I work from home, my problem isn't scratching, it is bowing due to contraction of the white paint on the inside of the front cover vs the plastic cover. This is more obvious on the smaller sizes, and the mini is almost comical if you don't put under a book once in a while. I prefer executive and have been thinking about an Orbit to ditch the cover, and I do like the top hinge.
The Orbit is great too - especially if you aren’t throwing it in a bag (otherwise you need the capsule) - it actually replaced the Flip for me before I moved up to the Axis. Either way, for working from home you would be good 👍

Definitely a big reason for me as well. I would end up just holding onto or recycling my agendas every year, so a big benefit is knowing I can access the information without it taking up space (with the added benefit that it’s searchable) 👍
Have you tried to see if it would fit into the rocketbook capsule 2 yet? I have the capsule 2 and would love to be able to use it with one of these for peace of mind when transporting it even if you have to remove it to write.

There is a gap in the metal ring. Officially, Rocketbook doesn't endorse you opening it in case you bend it out of shape, but I have had some success doing it myself. I plan on making a video soon to document my technique. Thanks!✌️

I’m playing around with that now. It’s definitely doable, but isn’t ideal because you have to be careful not to deform the rings significantly. I’ve been using a needle nose plier with a small flathead screwdriver and it is OK.

my biggest problem with the rocketbooks, is I somehow always have a regular pen sneak in to my office and I will accidently write on my books with it.

You should glue some felt or velvet to the inside of the pen strap.

Does the pen spot fit the bulkier pilot frixion Knock 4-Color Gel Ink Multi-Pen?
I love Rocketbook. My Orbit is awesome, the only problem is when I need to carry it around. The capsule is super bulky, so it does not help. Hi, thanks for the review, how easy is it to add or subtract pages from the ring binding? Thanks
I’m playing around with that now. It’s definitely doable, but isn’t ideal because you have to be careful not to deform the rings significantly. I’ve been using a needle nose plier with a small flathead screwdriver and it is OK.
