      For me it has always been about the art of star wars, the way it look is what pulled you in ,because it certainly wasn't the acting, that was average at best! But this new exciting World that no one saw before pulled us in and made us want more Star Wars has always been so intense on screen! So beautiful, and so creative!

    I think you can really see Adams 'military heritage' within this franchise. He has this incredible mentality of never giving up and fighting/biting through. I feel like that really shows in his way of training and what also makes him a great actor. This always giving 100% and never shying away is awesome in my opinion!

    • @AntonioPerez-xo4hm

      Antonio Perez Yeah sure I just thought about that when Daisy said that Adam always gives 100%. I mean who knows, maybe he isn't so determined because he joined the military but rather joined the military because he is so determined. If you get what I mean... I just thought it related to that in a sense.

    This is my first time watching this and wow, it just makes me love it even more. Yes, there are tons of you who hated it, and you are definitely entitled to do so, but you know what, quit ragging on people who profess their love for it. In a world full of hate and discontent, let's try to rise above being petty about a fictional story. Some of us, like myself have been there since '77 and regardless of what people say to me about my love for this world, I will not waiver in my convictions of the joy it has brought me since then.

      @Akira Toriyama Disappointing fans because of expectation and then finally being recognized as a good movie is one thing, another thing is being a movie so objectively bad that the only argument to explain why you liked it is "I think it's good because it's my opinion."

    • @wgo523
      @wgo523 4 роки тому +5

      @@baldam6361 um I think it's good because of its commitment to character and theme, and because it's visually the most beautiful star wars movie. And I tend to not agree with all the reasoning that it's terrible. Luke character fits him in the of trilogy perfect, Ray is a powerful force user and that DOES NOT need explination, and does not make her a Mary Sue. Killing Snoke was a great move that made perfect sense for kylo and puts him somewhere interesting.
      Certain plot details are odd, just like every star wars movie, but I tend to care much more about the themes and characters than the mechanics of space combat, and star wars has always been that way.
      The visual stuff like the rain and Sparks, lots of red, and of course Crait is amazing.
      My fav star war.

      Akira Toriyama
      it’s because they were trying to stuff all these cool ideas into one film, but it ended up as a huge mess. The only things I’d point out were Rose and Holdo. It seemed as they were only put in to bring romance (which didn’t work before on the prequels) and female empowerment which are completely unnecessary in SW. They also messed up Lukes character as a whole, making him seem like a douche who gave up on humanity. The film also has terrible choreography for the fights, it seems like some role playing kids are just playing in their backyard with their toy lightsabers. There’s no emotion or weight in the fighting, it just seems like “hey I’m an important character, you can’t touch me.” The entire film is just forgettable, it’s constantly switching locations and timelines with all these unnecessary forgettable characters. The overall pace of the film is a mess, “hey look here cool sacrificial moment- oh wait! Let’s risk humanity for a kissing scene.” Although there are many more things which make the film reasonably unlikeable, there are also many things which make it likeable. I just wanted to point out what makes the film ‘bad’ for some people, although I completely respect whatever your opinion is on the film.

      I'm on board with team "I loved The Last Jedi" ! I think it is the most beautiful and visually elaborate of the Saga, its color palette is insanely intricate and gorgeous.It is also extremely interesting storywise, and quite unexpected (which is what the entitled generation couldn't stand ! They did not get what they thought was their due, and crapped about the movie like spoiled kids). I watched the 7 episodes in sequence before going to see The Last Jedi, and it all made perfect sense to me. And I will do the same thing in 2 weeks, one movie every night, ending with The Last Jedi the night before going to see The Rise of Skywalker.
      And by the way, I am a 57 year old fan, I have loved Star Wars passionately for the past 42 years, ever since that first night in 1977 when I was transported in a galaxy far, far away. And no, I never felt that Disney/Kennedy/whatever ruined Star Wars or my childhood ! I loved The Force awakens, and I love the character of Rey, her purity, her strength, and how she takes everything thrown at her in her stride, without losing her sense of wonder.
      I am looking forward to Episode IX. Even if it means the end of the Skywalker Saga, which will be somewhat devastating for me. But still... I have notified my boss 6 months ago that I would be unavailable on december 18 (yes, in France I will get to see the movie 2 days before the US !), I already have my ticket. ANd I will go with enough tissues to absorb all the tears that will flow...

    When a movie makes you feel many emotions sometimes even all at once than you know it’s a hella good movie it doesn’t matter if the story isn’t perfect, films are an escape for us, it’s here to entertain us, to wow us. I think the problem with this movie’s bad reviews is that a lot of fans built a lot of fan theories that didn’t come true and therefor they felt disappointed, I’m sorry to the fans who felt disappointed by this film I wish you could’ve enjoyed it more. But I for one absolutely loved every second of it, it took this turn that was unexpected and it’s rare these days to find movies that have good plot twists and say what you wanna say “it’s not a good plot twist though” well clearly for a lot of people it was good enough

      Most of the critics of the movie don't hate it, but would say they're in the middle. One of George's stated reasonings for selling off the franchise was the fan criticism of his errors and sensibilities. Also, Disney etc's strongest intimations was their commitment to correct his failings and make movie for the fans. This last episode fails on both criteria for the reasons stated above. While I appreciate the creative risks taken (an aspect utterly bleached out of Ep.7), episode 8 had the kind of issues that make you wonder if Johnson was doing the writing and screen editing himself after having procrastinated the deadline. With so much resources available, why can't an "imperfect star wars" be a thing of the past?

    This movie was amazing; it wasn't perfect, but when was a Star Wars movie ever perfect? Cmon guys even the original movies had flaws. Leía making out with her brother, the super long asteroid chase, the jabba's palace act was also way to long. (Almost 40 mins) and The Ewok army, which was alright at first but then got a little annoying, and don't forget how they killed off the most powerful bounty hunter (boba fett).If you guys thought this movie had a clunky dialogue, I invite you to rewatch the originals.
    Don't get me wrong, I loved every single Star Wars movie, yes even the prequels. However, these flaws are minor to me and do not take away from me the Star Wars experience.

      the prequels and originals had flaws, but when you get an immense ammount of flaws in the new movies, you can't just say "it wasn't perfect", it's awful.
      "the jabba's palace act was also way too long. (Almost 40 mins)". The new movie was 2h40 and the plot never changed, it was "the first order is chasing the 'rebels' '". That's what I call "way too long".

    • @estidi
      @estidi 6 років тому +13

      I don't know. It does only have 3 sub-plots (Rey and Ach-to, Finn on Canto Bight, and the chasing of the Rebels), but they were interspersed in such a way that it doesn't feel too long. It was the perfect length.

    • @gkay8889
      @gkay8889 6 років тому +5

      Billy bill but the new movies dont have many flaws..a new hope has the most flaws in star wars if we judge objedtively..and the prequels have WAY MORE flaws than the new films..and they are more well made than return of the jedi

      @gkay8889 6 років тому +1

      Billy bill the same is with empire so whats your point?

    • @Lord00022
      @Lord00022 6 років тому +5

      Exactly, it does the same things but in a way that's worse, way worse. Worse because it's boring, you got the chase, I already talked about it, then, the training with rey (she doesn't learn a thing and doesn't need to, she can already do anything + the dark side cavern that brings what ?), the hacker finn and her chick (useless quest too by the way) bring to the destroyer who is a little like lando.
      They shit on the old characters and a lot of characters that were introduced in the VII, that's another main problem.
      another big problem is the scope, the scale of the movie, the imperial order destroy 4 planets and the new republic is already calling himself "the rebels, the resistance", and the whole resistance can fit in the millenium falcon ? Mmmmmh. Doesn't feel like a galaxy at war

    I loved The Last Jedi movie. Visually, top 3 of the episode films. Definitely the most creative and surprising one from a cultural and meta fictional view point. It answers a whole lot of questions but creates opportunities for exponentially more questions. Imo, achieved the Herculean feat of stepping out from under the massive shadow of George Lucas and episodes one to six.

      Vinzenz Stein Ferrari Freitas No, it was objectively bad. The fans enjoyed the force awakens and loved Rogue One (which I rank as one of my all time favourite SW movies). This movie made no sense from beginning to end. So many plots holes, pointless subplots that lead nowhere, hollow characters and a complete ruination of Luke Skywalker. It also ruined much of what the force awakens had built up just to make ridiculous plot twists. It was just awful.

    It was so hard watching this because I love the people, the actors, the set and camera crew, the trainers, etc. They put so much effort, so much passion and all the work that goes into it. This movie was so beautiful and well edited but objectively an awfully directed film and I dont blame Rian, this is his style but the subversion thing was overused much like M. Night Shyamalan and his twist direction style or Micheal Bays CGI Action style. When they are put in movies that dont fit their direction style its glaring, and I see this is the base of not liking the film, all the nitpicks are the symptoms and reaction to the missteps in logic the movie had with the plot and characters. For those that have seen Mandalorian, look up Deborah Chow, she is a boss director for star wars so far, she has found the line between new and old. She directed chapters 3 and 7 and did an air tight job😊👍

    This Star Wars Movie was so different and I loved it. For a while I actually thought I wasn’t in a movie theater and I was in fact in the movie like I knew the characters on a personal level like they were all my best friends...and that’s why I love Star Wars! This movie took a turn from the normal Star Wars of good vs bad and took it a step further no one expected it was good vs bad within the characters figuring out their side of the story, finding out that not everyone is good and not bad it’s a story that can make you cry and laugh at the same time it’s an escape from reality. I find it amazing how much the movie has grown the community from different ages and captured what is bothering the people of each age. Star Wars has made yet another great movie that left me speechless and waiting for VIIII! This movie was something great and new...it should defiantly be cherished for multiple reasons.
