Anyone who says it's not addictive just can't stop taking it.
The whole internet is full of people who got really bad withdrawals when they wanted to quit.
And then there are always some addicted potheads in the comments who say it's not possible to get addicted to it.
You better not take advice from those people.
    TRUST ME!

I used to say: I can stop whenever i want i mm not addicted. That was 5 years ago. I finally am able to quit now. I’m on day 5 of not smoking pot and i’m planning to never touch it again. Pot ruined great opportunities for me. And it will do the same for you if it doesn’t make you productive.

@@curtisclaire4341 That's you. That's not every other person who has smoked as a HABIT for years and is surprised and embarrassed to admit that they find it really hard to quit.
Cannabis is not as addictive as most other substances, hell, it's less addictive than sugar, but it doesn't mean it can't form habits and is easy to leave for chronic and dependent users. The real difference between cannabis and other drugs such as nicotine or alcohol in terms of addiction is that you won't develop a permanent chemical dependence for it which can last decades. But it is a psychoactive drug and because of that, the brain which has no natural self control, wants more if it, because it really enjoys those feelings that come from getting high.
Since you're using yourself as anecdotal evidence, I'll use myself: I quit 5 years ago, actually, and it was tough, I nearly failed 10th grade because of weed. I was convinced I was not addicted and that I could quit at any time, but "not right now because I don't want to". Few years down the line, I started drinking. Alcoholism runs in my family; my mother, her mother and father and her grandfather were all alcoholics. I ended up with 2 bottles of whiskey a week, in 12th grade. Eventually, 2 years out of high school, I'm getting sick of feeling tired and low-energy all the time. So, I stop drinking and now only have one or two once in a blue moon or at a party. Moral of the story: alcohol was easier for ME to give up as a habit than weed. If I was using myself as anecdotal evidence, like you, I'd say "alcoholics are being dramatic". But I'm not going to do that becuase I'm not an inconsiderate idiot.

It's your relationship with the substance you have to question. THC is not bad or good - it is what it is -depends only on yourself. I've been stuggling with it 20 years ago and for me I know I have to be careful with it so I just don't use it any longer. CBD oils on the other hand give me some pain/anxiety relief and I should take that more often but I won't, dunno why. Still got an addicted GF which won't make it easier to have a healthy relationship with the plant, or her, since I am always triggered by it 24/7.

She does the wake and bake several times a night, constantly during the day and waking hours. She is spending about $200 a week yet complains when I ask her to pay for her half of food money. I hat to kick her out, but I cant take this much longer

I started smoking marijuana about two years ago and for some reasons I found myself smoking alot for the past three months. I've been smoking weed everyday, at least three times a day and sometimes even more than three times. I was completely dependent on it and so i decided to quit about one week ago. I watched a lot of videos on how to quit marijuana and googled a lot of stuff about that as well and honestly it got me so scared I thought it was going to be a big struggle for me too,I struggled with sleep and appetite on the first day, and on the second day I saw some improvement. Well, today is my day 6 and everything has been perfect since day 3, i don't crave it anymore and i don't feel any withdrawal symptoms anymore. YES,I WAS ADDICTED but IM SO HAPPY I DIDN'T STRUGGLE TO QUIT. Also I feel so much better about myself now. Im trying to make it to a year so pray for me y'all ❤️😂😂

people need to treat it like any other substance...
sugar, alcohol, caffeine, nicotine, thc & cbd, they're all substances we can generate dependency.
I am actually not an active consumer, but I will use from time to time, since I turned 21. The key is to respect the substance and being ready to stop it's abuse as soon as you catch yourself falling that path. I've never felt any problems quitting weed and staying sober but it is because I treat it with much respect, unlike sugar and caffeine which I built a dependency long time ago.

I have a really good advice since I started to smoke at 13 yo and now I have 25 yo, but I can really say I'm not addicted at that. Well, in the first place I never was the guy who smokes everyday, I always tried to control it and that's my advice: Don't be a ramdom smoking person, pick some days of the weed and smoke those days, then don't in the rest of the days. When the weed it's over, only buy when you really feel you need to get high and relax, don't do just for fun and any time. In the end all I wanna say is, don't let anything control you by choosing doing it all the time, cuz that's what happens if you dont schedule the thing. I mean, today is saturday, I'm working at home (with graphic design) and I'm not even thinking about weed. I arrieved here cuz I was checking a cigarett process smoking of tobbaco. Hope it helps someone, tho.

Honestly a bit of a hot take. I feel like weed being addictive is all in the personality. Ive never used weed as a coping mechanism. My life comes first and weed comes second. I smoke maybe once every 2 days. I can quit smoking weed and be completely fine. In fact there have been prolonged periods of time when i didnt simply because it wasnt there and i was unintersted in getting any for the time being. Ofc if u use it everyday and it helps with your anxiety and depression and its all u and your friends talk about, yea it would be pretty hard to quit. Thats kind of obvious. You cant compare something like weed to the withdraw of something like benzos or heroin. Until i see weed destroying families and tearing people down to doing the most grimey shit just to get some. Im going to say weed is relatively okay. Its not the best idea for everyone. But dont sit there and call weed addictive just bc u find it hard to quit. Its possible. Its a mental game. Honstly for alot its not even mental. I mean it makes u relaxed and kinda tired. Idk about you but i can do that without weed. Go tf outside if ur bored bro lol.

@@internetpointsbank yes since I've made this comment I feel I forgot the importance of seeing the difference between dependence and addiction, in all fairness, yes you can be addicted to weed but I find only a SMALL % of those people are actually dependent on the THC itself. Ur friends could likely quit today and have nothing but a few shitty days before he feels normal again and maybe even better. See with designer drugs like coke though, then you have a serious problem. There are simply too much drugs that can ruin people's lives, for weed to even be in that category. Not everyone is a responsible user and will take it to extremes. They neglect all other aspects of their life. This can be with any addiction. It's all in the personality. I smoke weed with everything I've stated in mind. I can get stoned and live a happy life. Your friend either feels comfortable about what he's doing and if he's not ruining himself then fine. It's dabs. If not then eventually he'll realize and he'll quit or cut back on it. And all it may take is some company to help him. That being said 1 dab an hour sounds expensive and I hope ur friend Is doing alr with himself.
