The dude states it’s not medicine because of the psychotic side effects. Well shit explain adderall. SSRI’s, Xanax? Those drugs made me see the darkest places in my mind. Weed is the only thing that helps me feel normal
Definitely benzos are the worst. I've been tapering for over a year and I am still feeling withdrawal after only 2 weeks without it. I'm also using cannabis and it is helping me through the anxiety. Sometimes it can heighten my anxiety but I know it is just the withdrawal and it is going to be ok. You have to taper on these powerful drugs as to not die from withdrawal. I'm thankful for CBD and THC.
Brian Keough tell me about it man. I went to rehab due to these satanic pills. Been clean for 16 months. It takes time and I still struggle but it gets way better just trust the process
Weed absolutely ruined my life for a few years. It affects everyone differently and should be treated as such. People that say it has no negative effects are wrong, and people that say it has no health benefits are wrong.
I think it’s a small percentage of us that have serious issues with pot. Most people can take or leave it. Others can take a lot of it without much issue. I got started at 13 and got the psychosis they are talking about. The friends I was using with did not.

As a 45 year old woman with MS, cannabis is the only thing that helps my nerve pain and also helps me sleep. I am the definition of a functional stoner. With cannabis, I can get up and go to work and be a responsible, tax paying adult. The worst thing I've done on weed is raid the fridge or order door dash.
ive smoked weed throughout my life (mostly 17-30), though not much anymore. only once has it ever helped me with pain and it wore off as soon as my tolerance went up (a couple or few days). i think the "weed relieves pain" thing is mostly bunk. maybe im wrong but ive never heard anything about weed actually acting on the nervous system. ive been hearing this since 2000 when it was medical only in california (when i was a recreational medical patient). and i know for a fact that if ANYTHING helps any kind of pain... theres no way that marijuana is the "only" thing that does it... what youre experiencing is psychological, which is often what much of pain sensation is... pain can be increased by acknowledgment of it and decreased by dismissal, to a greater extent than most people realize. and focusing on it develops neurological connections that perceive it. this is true for everything that you do, including "feeling" pain. now youre going to say "no, you dont understand, ive tried everything" and im going to say, "weed can help with pain by distracting you from it, the reason you "feel" the need to be on psychoactive chemicals all day long is because youre masking something psychological that causes you to dwell in it or havent learned how to dismiss the pain." them im going to say, "so long as youre doing what you need to do and not harming others, i have no problem with what you do." but dont fool yourself into thinking that weed is magical or that you have no other options.
My uncle got told if his doctor back in the 90s to try it for his ms and it was the only thing that worked for him to get a sleep that was in Scotland and it's still illegal over here not even for medical use
@@orwellianreptilian2914 You should understand that everyone is different my guy, also if you smoke consistently for a long time you almost get a tolerance cap if that makes sense. After I smoked a lot (16-18) ever since then even when I haven't smoked for a year my tolerance goes right back up after a few days just like you said it does for you " it wore off as soon as my tolerance went up (a couple or few days)." I'm not saying weed has some magical power or anything like that what I'm saying is you gotta think about it from other peoples perspective like if A grandpa with Parkinsons disease used cannabis or even CBD it would help then a lot more than it would help you or I since we've used it so much, kinda like having your first cigarette verses your 100th
@@hipduh Don't "logic" with me, kid. That "everybody's different" thing doesn't work here. This is how it literally is. If you have a more technical explanation, I'm willing to hear it... But you don't. Because it doesn't exist. All you have is "well, what if puppies and moonbeams?!" And how long do you think it's going to take grandpa to get to his 100th joint? Marijuana isn't something that you can use everyday for long periods and maintain relative efficacy like Vicodin or Adderall, used for their intended purpose. And there's a reason for that... Because marijuana is psychotropic. It can affect the perception of pain and THAT can very widely between people. And if THAT works... Then the issue that it resolves, to whatever extent it does, is psychological. To explain that properly would require a lot more effort than I'm willing to apply at the moment. But to summarize, attention to any particular thing, literally anything, will develop neurological structures responsible for perceiving and interacting with that thing. Unfortunately, it's more difficult to undo once it has been developed and most people are not either aware and or objective "enough" to do it effectively. Just reiterate, if it wasn't clear in my initial comment, my point was, "in this case and context (pain), if weed can do it, then there's a more effective strategy."

I’m 17 I been depressed for about a good year or two and for the first year I probably smoked like 3 times and soon I became tired of living and I disliked my life tbh I was so sad I started to lose my appetite and lost 20 pounds within two months and I finally tried to get some help and got therapy, months later of therapy I was still feeling the same way like it didn’t help at all, and I finally took things into my own hands and I decided to dabble with smoking pot, the first few months of smoking it was great, it would help me think more clearly allowing me to think about things from a different perspective help me think basically. As well as helping me see things for the way they are good or bad, and helped me realize how good life actually is. As well as helping me with my appetite as well and came back to a healthier weight for my body. I think it has been very beneficial for me but at the same time I can not abuse it because then I soon lose all the benefits from it.

Let me just give Joe Rogan much credit for opening for such debates in his podcast and making them most often really open and cool, even when his guests gets overexcited he manage to bring the discussion back to when it was a calm, profound discussion. In this one it is obvious that he tries to make the discussion as "not irritable" as possible and he's really good at it. At the same time he manage to puch his guests to a point where they feel questioned. Which is exactly what you want as a listener, he really succeed in giving the listener something to think och reflect about after listening to it.

I can honestly say as a daily pot smoker for 10 years and just recently decided to quit, it is definitely addictive and can become destructive if your not able to use moderately. There are withdrawals also such as not being able to sleep, having nightmares and becoming bored and irritated very easily which leads most to go back to smoking. I also have anxiety and depression which I was already prone to having I believe weed brought that out in me way more. The withdrawals sound Very mild but it’s still a thing people should know especially if you have an addictive personality. I also feel a lot more clear headed and in touch with reality which I didn’t want to believe because I love weed but if it’s doing more harm than good u gotta stop or you’re never going to get ahead in life. Just my opinion and it differs from person to person but I know many people who would be doing way better if they quit weed but know one wants to accept that there life could be better without it. Took me 10 years to finally accept it.

Well, when you are a politician and you've literally moved all jobs either overseas or non-existent anymore, the only way the government can get money from people is if they legalize drugs. Actually, legalization of drugs in America represents the downfall of American family values and it represents the collapsing of society and the economy as a whole. And isn't it just so convenient that drugs are being legalized while everyone has depression or some sort of mental disorder? Because we are all going to need something to get us high in these times.
Video stimulation affects the brain in similar ways as drugs and the amount of video stimulation has ramped up exponentially. Internet is also driving people insane.
I'm sorry to hear that. If it was really the effects of the plant and not some underlying issue or legal issues that's not something I hear often among the many people I know who partake. I can only really speak for myself and not anecdotes of others.
Come back in 2, 5 years time or more and lets see how it all works out. Cannabis works short term not long take my word for it, it'll exacerbate issues in the long-that's my personal experience with it.
Jon Lg a lot of it just deals on who takes it, how often, and what terpenes and flavonoids are in the strains. It really depends on the person. Personally it’s been very helpful, but we’re all different and cannabis effects us all differently so we can’t really speak for anyone else except for ourselves
@@mitchell4379 Totally. So much of what's thought of when it comes to cannabis is equivalent to only thinking about drinking as college students doing keg stands and beer bongs. Bongs and smoking blunt after blunt, doing dabs all day every day, isn't a great idea. It's fine if a person wants to do that, but it's likely to have some severe consequences before long. Same as if you binge drink all the time. Cannabis used as utility doesn't look anything like that, in my experience. It's not about getting utterly blazed af. Pizza is fucking great, but if you eat that shit all day, every day it's going to kill you sooner than later. Same with cannabis.
Weed like anything else I feel is okay in moderation. I love to smoke but I do feel the effects of being lethargic and sometimes anxiety. I guess it’s entirely dependent on the individual. I was in a deep deep deep depression when I started smoking pot. After a 7 year relationship end. I wasn’t suicidal but maybe as close to it as you can be. And since I started smoking I’ve continuously been getting better (not because of the pot), I use it for sleep, anxiety, but I don’t really look at it as a huge deal. Guess everyone’s different. I struggled with severe gastroperesis for years… essentially to the point of not being able to eat for days at a time because of my food being regurgitated nearly every time I attempted to eat. Beginning THC improved my condition to the point I went from 6’ 5” 143lbs to 180lbs in just a few months and in the form of mostly healthy muscle weight rather than just fat. To say that it cannot be used as a medicine is just false and not true by any stretch of the imagination. It’s not for everyone sure but for the people that need it it’s essential.
I smoked for about 15 years with no discernible problems from it, then my usage went up during the Covid lockdown because I didn’t have to go to work and the new strains are so psychoactive that I had a psychotic break and ever since then I can’t smoke because it makes me schizophrenic for months after just one smoke. I miss it for the good old days but it’s very dangerous even for people in their thirties.
No no no. It doesn’t MAKE you “schizophrenic”. Cannabis has uncovered mental problems you already had. Weed isn’t for everyone, you’re a fine example of that. Don’t blame weed for your head being screwed up.
Because people are smoking 27% THC flower w/ anxiety terps with zero experimentation or research. Mixing in CBD mitigates negative long-term effects of cannabis but nobody knows this because nobody reads.
From my own subjective experience, I lived a generally happy life until I started smoking weed. I had a love/hate relationship with it. I loved the physical feeling of it as well as the psychological feeling of escaping reality and just feeling different than normal. But I also developed a lot of depression, anxiety and eventually suicidal thoughts, all of which I had never really experienced before marijuana. On top of that, after about a year I started having a lot of delusional and psychotic thoughts and had really bad weed dissociation. I’ve never been in such a low place. Thankfully I was able to beat the addiction and am now much happier but I think people should be more educated on the very real potential negative side effects of this drug. I’m not saying it’s like that for everyone because I know many people who really benefit from it but for me it was the worst experience of my life. All I’m saying is that weed is NOT for everyone.

cannabis supports the persons endocannabinoid system in such a way , it seems magical, miraculous etc ... the actives in the plant that are medical for us are non selective lipid metabolites ... Selectivity is KEY as to how effective they are at supporting how our cells function, not forcing our cells into selective types of metabolism etc.... if you look at most things that are for pain etc... they are COX blockers ... cannabis' phytocannabinoids support COX/ LOX function and do not harm the liver, kidneys etc ... phytocanabinoids too instantly bind to bile acids when ingested that then help us to metabolize things ... like activating the enzymes in cells that start the process of bio-degrading lipids into biochemicals . just mentioning this as you post made me think of a few things I've learned about the plant ... smoking it too destroys most of the medical application acquired via other non smoke methods ... for quick relief like smoking can proved a clean air path dry herb vaporizer can be used with a heat range of around 350F up to 440 F ... no smoke toxins that way and actually delivers more acidic type phytocananbinoids ( THC-a/ CBD-a ) that are another level of medical benefit ... eating it raw is too another level altogether . Cannabinoid science / endocannabinoid system / lipid signaling / phytocannabinoids/ endocananbinoids . ECS is the largest physiological system in our bodies not taught in med school ... we have a long way to go

My sister is type 1 bipolar. She smoked a bit of weed this morning after not having smoked it for months and had a complete psychotic breakdown/episode. She was hallucinating and hearing things and after 4-5 hours, she didn't remember anything that had happened. It was the scariest and weirdest thing I've ever seen and I've never seen her behave that way in my life. I didnt even know marijuana could do that. I quit smoking it about 2 years ago, (smoked since I was 13, am now 25) just because I wanted to live a sober lifestyle. I am pro legalization. But the research needs to be done on the connection/effect with cannibis on mentally ill people and/or if it causes mental illness. Because after this morning, I certainly believe that if you are mentally ill in any way, I would not chance smoking weed. The things my sister were saying were completely bizarre. It was the scariest/weirdest expierience I've had in my entire life. She was so sad and confused when I was telling her that none of what she was seeing/hearing was real. And her eyes, oh my god! It's like I could see into her soul. I can't describe it. I was asking her if she took anything else and if I could see the weed and she was being completely honest and somewhat robotic in everything I was asking her. (If she's using drugs, she always lies about it, even though I can tell if she's high) That was another strange thing about this. All of this was completely surreal for me. I told her I would talk with her tomorrow, because she called me after I dropped her off back home (after she started being normal again), and she completely was clueless as to what happened and that she thinks she blacked out and didnt know why or what happened? It's a sad thing. And something I didn't even know that was possible from smoking weed. I am at a loss with what to do about this.
@gametimedivine does it matter ? You can get pure weed from anywhere….. you can get it from your homie or plug ect and still get full spectrum REAL HIGH. I have been doing Cannabis for 50 years, and I have witnessed all of its effects on me and other people. There are people that just can't handle cannabis , they simply can't handle the stone. So cannabis is not for everyone. But to me it has an effect that is life changing and I believe that cannabis has had a hand in human evolution. Instead of looking for reasons to promote your own view of something that you know nothing about. Let me describe a personal view that cannabis gives me. When I don't have a complete view of any parts of life. I am human and I believe all people are the same. We , when we have our ability to be thoughtful, we end up banging on the same door, over and over we can't see any other way but that one door, and that door doesn't have the answers For me a couple of puffs of my pipe and suddenly, there are many doors. Doors with answers all types of views through many doors. Taking me away from that one door that I just can't stop knocking on. Which would you say a benefit like that is worth? Priceless Now like I have said it's not for anyone, but for me it is a guide and a relief. You can't just stop us people that are getting a very beneficial reaction from cannabis ? Be real. Your agenda is your agenda, don't believe that it's not something that could just be ignored .

I didnt help ypu shit, it just lets you escape and forget about your problems instead of beeing sober and actually facing them like a healthy adult should do. Your problems will come back and they back even stronger the longer you run away from them, i promise you that. Ye you can smoke endlessly to never facing the problems but that makes you a slave to that plant .... and it that rly the way you want to live?
I quit smoking a while back, and I truly believe that no matter how strongly you feel about something, facts are facts. From what I've noticed, people who use weed sometimes downplay the proven negative effects because they believe it improves their lives. But the truth is, relying on the drug can mess with your cognitive functions, memory, and overall energy levels, including your sleep. These are just straightforward facts that are hard to argue against.
I was a hardcore stoner for many years starting from an early age then all of a sudden one day i had a panic attack from out of nowhere and i have never felt the same! That was the start of my weed psychosis which i learnt about afterwards. I gave it up for a while but go through phases of smoking it everyday few months and not at all for a few. I am now at a point where i will have few drags off each joint passed round with friends where as i use to smoke on my own fattys. I absolutely love getting high best feeling there is and i miss that feeling but i have come to terms with what has happened. I could start smoking again and feel fine for a while but my mood swings and paranoia increases the longer i smoke so have mde that conscious decision to pretty much stop completely for good but will partake in a few pulls when with friends or at the end of the night when the drinking stops. It works for some people but those who have mental illness running through their family or have any sort of mental issues need to be careful and stop it before it could be too late! But i do love you Mary Jane even if you do fuck with my head and love being passed around my homies.
I’m someone who struggles with panic attacks in general. I’ve noticed when I smoke I can change my thoughts easier which gets rid of the panic. It’s crazy how it affects everyone different
Matthew Bielawski when it comes to people who have that addiction trait self control is extremely difficult. Not saying it’s impossible but it’s very difficult.
Everyone's physiology is different and changes throughout your life. Some people develop allergies as kids and others not until they're in their 50's sometimes. I've smoked every single day since the middle of 1998 and it does nothing but help me chill out, enjoy jazz, nature, a night out. It's been a boon for me. But I know I'm not everyone. That's why education, and yeah, a little experimentation, will determine whether or not it's for someone or not.
Bottom line is weed effects everyone differently, can relieve or induce anxiety depending on ones genes, environment, and health. I learned the hard way it’s not for me, but my roommates light up everyday. Nothing wrong with them, they’re GPA is higher and they still have social lives. I’ve made my peace with it and smoke once a month with them if that.
Last 10min was brilliant, that anti-weed guy got grilled from all sides with data and intelligent arguments! Well done Joe, we get to hear from both side and we can decide for ourselves. I'm trying to have this kinda conversations in my country India, i do inhale small amount to weed per week and it helped me a lot with my mental health and helped me creatively with my job.
@@kingtubbatele1352 There are productions of weed, many of the states banned it after stupid US "War on Drugs" move but there are hundreds of people doing rallies and having social media campaigns to legalize weed and put taxes on it, like me. I think they’re both right. Weed can exacerbate mental illness and is not good for some people based on their brain chemistry. It can work wonders and significantly improve quality of life for other people
Exactly! And it's harmful to only over emphasize one side of the argument. It only further increases the need to create an extreme counterpart like the role Alex plays here. Which frankly does the whole conversation a diservice because then "pro" enthusiasts become even more defensive.
What's funny is that my wife actually is a doctor and it does actually work very well. My mother who is 96 years old broke her back about 15 years ago and has had back problems that they tried to treat with opiates and the only thing that has taken away her pain completely is CBD..👈
I smoked weed from around 16-18, then stopped completely up until recently “I’m now 33” where I’ve developed a pharmaceutical induced (metaclopramide anti nausea medication) neuromuscular condition which causes tremors and shakiness and jerkiness of muscles and also akathisia where I feel so restless and tense up and could barely move, for the past week I’ve been using thc and cbd, has helped me to achieve more in the last week than the last 8. My house is clean and I am feeling more positive and optimistic. It’s decreased the velocity of the tremors and frequency too. Also taken away a lot of the akathisia symptoms.
eat lots of mega three too - omega three tuns into cannabinoid signals in our cells ... that is how we make endocannabinoids , via consuming essential fatty acids
@@goat2503 so Glad to help over this internet highways ... ther too are cannabimimetics which are cannabis type compounds found in other food stuffs ... a great one to focus on is whole peppercorn ... most people already have it available and do not realize how medical that is ... there is beta carophyllene ( BCP) in there that is a dietary cannabinoid . BCP is a selective agonist compound in cannabinoid type 2 receptors ... BCP has a 24 hour half life so really does help to direct cannabis plant metabolism better if you ingest BCP before cannabis ... the idea is to load cb2 with BCP and then the THC can better direct to cb1 ... you can slow cb1 effects of THC too via taking BCP after the fact ... taken before cannabis increases cb1 effects, taken after cannabis decreases cb1 effects Edit - there are way more cannabimimetics in the world too that we have available ... basically anything that is metabolically active in the endocannabinoid system

As someone in NZ who has now been medically treated with CBD for 12 months to treat PTSD, anxiety and depression it has stopped my suicidal episodes and has helped me regulate my somatic pain disorder. It has personally changed my life. Many of my other pharma medications do have negative effects, so the argument that a medicine can't be called one when it has negative effects on the patient is completely false. They are called side effects and they are listed on every single pill bottle you are prescribed. He may be researching the wider facts but he is ignoring the building blocks of this issue. It is medicine.
This guy is actually bringing some legit truth, weed if abused can have severe negative impact on peoples lives. Too bad most of JR audience are stubborn potheads that won't take any criticism to their "medicine". Coming from a former chronic user that faced the darkside of this drug
Yep i agree they dont realise that for some people it can really be a negative thing i smoked for over 10 years and towards the last few years my mental state got worse and worse its definately not for everyone but that being said i know people who have smoked for the same period of time as i did with no negative side effects it all depends on the individual

They did extensive blood tests, urine tests, etc, they only founf THC present. At the time nobody wanted to say it was the THC, i think because we live in an area that heavily uses pot in California. Now im happy theyre coming out with more studies.
I'm a retired Soldier with PTSD, Anxiety and high blood pressure. I started using cannabis at night right before bed like a medicine. I use enough to get relaxed and go to sleep. I am like a new person. I have energy during the day. I slept really well the night before. My blood pressure is back to normal without any meds. It's my opinion that DOCTORS enjoy pushing too many pharmaceutical medicines down the throats of people. Almost all of my friends that are Soldiers with PTSD issues that were prescribed psych drugs have went down the rabbit hole. Some are heavy drug users on the street, homeless. A few are in prison, These are the people that Doctors are "helping". I call complete bullshit on these Doctors. I am a medic, I have worked with "doctors" all my life. 90 % of their research is just copy and paste. 🙄
I'm a big cannabis advocate, smoked for 4years daily, after 2years I started getting mad anxiety. Only thing that helped was smoking BUT the day I quit (4months ago) it took me just a week to completely lose my anxiety. The only way I can explain this is that smoking (even when you're not high anymore) narrows your mind and thoughts, u think more 'simple' (not always sometimes it widens your mind) but when you smoke you'll be able to predict things less good making you uncomfortable about situations causing anxiety. So yeah smoke moderately and you'll probably be fine. (just my perspective on it, it's most definitely very different for anyone no one responds to drugs the same way).
Good point on that not everyone is going to have the same experience, as well is an individual person can have different experiences from time to time too.
@@yootoob1001001 amazing you commented on this cause I forgot ever posting this, might be interesting but 3 years later I'm back to smoking daily for around 2 years without any anxiety. Weed is an amazing drug when used correctly but can f with your mind when used incorrectly/ at a (to) young age
In my experience (from 13 - 24) 95% of my long term stoner friends eventually quit because of paranoia and mental issues (I'm now 30), I don't care what studies show and what pharmaceutical giants say to make a buck, weed ruins your life long term.
Alcohol absolutely has a negative impact upon our lungs. It ends up in our lungs, which is why we give breathalyzers to measure BAC. It’s apparent that this guy seems to be going out of his way to down play the negative effects of alcohol while also down playing the positive effects of marijuana. Marijuana can alleviate depression, anxiety, increase appetite amongst cancer patients, treat epilepsy, decrease physical pain, has cancer fighting properties, is an anti inflammatory, can greatly help sleep disorders, and then there’s the potential effects of what it can do to consciousness and personality. It can have a significant positive effect upon personality disorders, which are otherwise extremely difficult to treat. The ability to allow a narcissist to have deep selfless moments can be more transfiguring than any psychotropic. But nah, marijuana has no medicinal benefits. Now, Xanax! There’s a good drug!
It's a miracle for my ADHD. I've never had mental clarity and peace like I do when I smoke. The mental health benefits of cannabis are completely undervalued.
Alex Bernson is clearly not all there on one hand he says "We need to do proper medical studies" and then quotes studies done unprofessionally as if it's solid facts and dismisses and solid studies brought up by A FREAKING DOCTOR . Alex wants to be negative just to create buzz for his stupid book which is clearly biased AF. He keeps only telling the negative side. His views are very terrible and his fact checking and omitting of facts is offensive.
Thank you! From what I got out of this, both Joe and Doc want to discuss the middle ground of the benefits and discuss the negatives. Alex threw out a random 10 to 20 thousand death number in the beginning of the podcast. And denies that cbd/marijuana can't be medicine bc the FDC says its not. Then Alex states it needs more testing for things he doesn't accept. But brings up loose correlation to things that support his viewpoints
@@jbainbridge22 Yeah, I may have read into it a bit much. I only got an hour into the full podcast but shortly after the 2nd/3rd time Alex brought up his wife, Doc brought up how social media makes people compare people to one another. Chill man my education does not invalidate your talking points. My experience as a well read person who works with patients taking proper dosages does". Its probably a stretch but if you re watch it there was a in between "who's more credible" pissing match that happened before that.
@@jbainbridge22 Yeah, I appreciate that the Doc read the book and research/contacted the sources before hand to test legitimacy before the podcast. I have chronic headaches due to head surgery. Opioids for pain became a huge issue for me. Cannabis has me off all opioids and helped me a ton. Is it for everyone? No. But if it helps and is less damaging than opioids, I’ll take it all day.
Chris Diaz I think a lot of these problems are to do with the potency of thc nowadays , if cbd was raised and the lowered I think a lot of the mental effects would go away
For some people, and we don't know why, marijuana causes severe and lasting anxiety and psychotic issues. People have to be very careful and start extremely low and pull the ripchord before it's too late
The problem is when you start being dependant on marijuana whilst having anxiety for example, and you are not sure is it because of marijuana AKA should you stop using it or is it just 'there' naturally so if you smoke a little bit it won't do you any damage...But generally I would recommend not to touch it if they are going through any psychic problems, not to mention more serious stuff such as depression, anxiety or even worse, schizophrenia.
Trust me I know you mean after smoking for so long I do get anxiety from time to time and trust me it gets annoying but you have to find ways to cope with it and improve on it each day by going to therapy working out eating healthy pretty much having a good health that can help with it .

When I first smoked weed, I got a really bad panic attack. I had never had one in my life at that point (I was 18) my family on my dads side have a history of anxiety disorders, but after I smoked pot, like 2 months later I started having panic attacks occasionally. I truly believe smoking brought that out of me earlier than it would have otherwise. I’ve had good experiences smoking though, mainly when the strain is very low in THC and high in CBD, but I rarely smoke and know my limits. Weed can absolutely help with things, but it can also make things worse, and if you suffer from panic disorder or mental illness, maybe know your limit.

Especially since it doubled to 5 per 100,000 that number is increased to 5,000 young girls committed suicide, thats not a small number AT ALL.
You also have to think about the fact that most downsides come from the fact that people misuse and abuse weed due to people not knowing enough about it and the cons it can have on you
This was a great discussion. Good points on both sides. I think cannabis use can worsen underlying mental health issues the same way any psychoactive drug can.
I love how he said in the podcast that for the past 20 years they only talk about the positive effects,I really wish Joe would have responded with how long they talked about the negative effects of pot and how much of it wasn’t even true
I had to quit weed due to constant psychosis. I am from Cali and I have been diagnosed as bipolar. I also think MDMA or ecstasy is really damaging to the brain and played a role on the reason why I get psychosis. Psychosis is no joke and after you come back from reality you are faced with horrible excruciating depression. Just my 2 cents.
Weed exasperates my OCD symptoms. This guy has plenty good reason to dig deeper into possible negative effects for some people like me. A lot of people unfortunately draw their own conclusions that there is no possible downside to something they love even maybe not for them but other people. This slows progress of good conversation and research to where we can find out about all ends to the good and negative.
Would you rather have something that could help millions of people remain illegal so no one can use it or choose not to use it so people who can benefit from using it have easier access to it?

ive smoked weed throughout my life (mostly 17-30), though not much anymore.
only once has it ever helped me with pain and it wore off as soon as my tolerance went up (a couple or few days).
i think the "weed relieves pain" thing is mostly bunk. maybe im wrong but ive never heard anything about weed actually acting on the nervous system.
ive been hearing this since 2000 when it was medical only in california (when i was a recreational medical patient).
and i know for a fact that if ANYTHING helps any kind of pain... theres no way that marijuana is the "only" thing that does it...
what youre experiencing is psychological, which is often what much of pain sensation is...
pain can be increased by acknowledgment of it and decreased by dismissal, to a greater extent than most people realize.
and focusing on it develops neurological connections that perceive it.
this is true for everything that you do, including "feeling" pain.
now youre going to say "no, you dont understand, ive tried everything"
and im going to say, "weed can help with pain by distracting you from it, the reason you "feel" the need to be on psychoactive chemicals all day long is because youre masking something psychological that causes you to dwell in it or havent learned how to dismiss the pain."
them im going to say, "so long as youre doing what you need to do and not harming others, i have no problem with what you do."
but dont fool yourself into thinking that weed is magical or that you have no other options.
My uncle got told if his doctor back in the 90s to try it for his ms and it was the only thing that worked for him to get a sleep that was in Scotland and it's still illegal over here not even for medical use

I'm not saying weed has some magical power or anything like that what I'm saying is you gotta think about it from other peoples perspective like if A grandpa with Parkinsons disease used cannabis or even CBD it would help then a lot more than it would help you or I since we've used it so much, kinda like having your first cigarette verses your 100th
@@hipduh
Don't "logic" with me, kid.
That "everybody's different" thing doesn't work here.
This is how it literally is.
If you have a more technical explanation, I'm willing to hear it...
But you don't.
Because it doesn't exist.
All you have is "well, what if puppies and moonbeams?!"
And how long do you think it's going to take grandpa to get to his 100th joint?
Joe should light up a giant joint during this debate.

Well, when you are a politician and you've literally moved all jobs either overseas or non-existent anymore, the only way the government can get money from people is if they legalize drugs. Jon Lg a lot of it just deals on who takes it, how often, and what terpenes and flavonoids are in the strains. It really depends on the person. sun cho or some people can use marijuana responsibly and in moderation with literally no negative effects on their lives. Everyone is different and it’s frustrating when people act like their personal experiences are everyone else’s experiences. If it doesn’t work for you don’t use it. Simple as that.
If you already have a mental illness then maybe it’s not the best thing for you to use

But i do love you Mary Jane even if you do fuck with my head and love being passed around my homies.

ah, the old "my wife's a doctor" card! Joe should have a show with all these guys, it would be hilarious!
@@mcozy333 awesome, thanks heaps for the tip really appreciate it and will definitely get on to it!
BCP has a 24 hour half life so really does help to direct cannabis plant metabolism better if you ingest BCP before cannabis ... the idea is to load cb2 with BCP and then the THC can better direct to cb1 ... you can slow cb1 effects of THC too via taking BCP after the fact ... taken before cannabis increases cb1 effects, taken after cannabis decreases cb1 effects
Edit - there are way more cannabimimetics in the world too that we have available ... basically anything that is metabolically active in the endocannabinoid system
@@goat2503 there is a forum thread at grasscityforum - cannabis black pepper is the thread title ... you can find it in the medical section at that forum ... I'd link out but you will then probably miss the post as youtube deletes them

The guy continuing to say “ let me push back on that” needs a new line 😂
Social media is what’s causing mental problems
thee are other reasons as well though
This guy is actually bringing some legit truth, weed if abused can have severe negative impact on peoples lives. Too bad most of JR audience are stubborn potheads that won't take any criticism to their "medicine". Coming from a former chronic user that faced the darkside of this drug
Yep i agree they dont realise that for some people it can really be a negative thing i smoked for over 10 years and towards the last few years my mental state got worse and worse its definately not for everyone but that being said i know people who have smoked for the same period of time as i did with no negative side effects it all depends on the individual
Well you automatically lose credibility in any argument when you state your opinion with such condescending tone to the people you are talking to/about. Maybe you’re just too weak for their “medicine”. It’s not for everyone.
@@billythekidder7182 lol right you are so strong managing your medicine that you feel the need to discredit others that are struggling/sharing their bad experience with it. Such a Chad alpha male here 😂 Look i think some people can manage it but from my experience most really can't and are in serious denial about the downside on their life from it
weed is not for you if you have week self esteem. Because of the paranoia you get after smoking. If you already have trouble talking to people its gonna be a lot more difficult when youre high af
@@pancakelover151 Well they are mostly reckless idiots who would excessively abuse everything that they can get their hands on, if you made water like weed, they’d drown themselves and blame water.
When I smoke I don't want to hurt anyone just blaze and watch Joe Rogan
I personally know two people who have schizophrenia due to cannabis. One happens to be my sister. They offered her to smoke for her first time in high school and it ruined her life.
A few are in prison,
These are the people that Doctors are "helping". I call complete bullshit on these Doctors. I am a medic, I have worked with "doctors" all my life. 90 % of their research is just copy and paste. 🙄
Alex "So I wanna push back" Berrenson
Michael "Also too" Hart
Alcohol raises blood pressure
Google
Couldn't have said it better myself!!
It's a miracle for my ADHD. I've never had mental clarity and peace like I do when I smoke. The mental health benefits of cannabis are completely undervalued.
what about the people without mental illnesses that turn into burn-outs after a couple of years with the sticky-icky?
Preach brother, preach
@@realcane9908 they can just as easily do so on alcohol or an easily prescribed opiate
@@Dennis0is0Mr1Swag I am so confused by his nonsense and he keeps bringing up his wife like fuck let her write it then lol.
@@jbainbridge22 Yeah, I may have read into it a bit much. I only got an hour into the full podcast but shortly after the 2nd/3rd time Alex brought up his wife, Doc brought up how social media makes people compare people to one another. I read that as a potential in-between the lines of "Dude you keep bringing up your medical professional of a wife to back up your statements against me, a doctor.

BEST PODCAST ON UA-cam...... joe talks about GREAT INFO.....
about everything .........
Don’t forget you can get depersonalization or derealization from weed you don’t need to be predisposed to scizo to get it
Chris Diaz I think a lot of these problems are to do with the potency of thc nowadays , if cbd was raised and the lowered I think a lot of the mental effects would go away
That's the fun part. But then it wears off. Which is cool bcz you can self medicate, prn, ie as needed
The amount of time that dude in the blue shirt said “you know” actually hurt me
I drank edibles drink an hour ago. Made some food, ate and went to youtube. I wrote "joe rogan weed" and started watching this episode. I now got high watching two people talk about is weed a medicine or not.

I use to be a daily smoker for years. I gave up for personal reasons. My boss also was a daily user at 65yrs old, he mentioned one time that his mother asked him if he still uses that STUFF his response was ' mum I've smoked with lawyers, dentists, cops etc. If weed makes you unwell. You were already unwell
Im autistic and it does benifit me. Just my EXP.
im gay and i smoked pots now i am not gay anymores god bless
😂😂
Nice movie. However, it is worth reaching for oils from Weedborn.
Weed can absolutely help with things, but it can also make things worse, and if you suffer from panic disorder or mental illness, maybe know your limit.
i’d rather smoke instead of take my migraine medicine which puts me to sleep and i have crazy crazy realistic dreams. while when i smoke i continue going and it gets rid of my migraines and allows me to relax aswell without having to sleep
Man it was so fun to smoke when i first started, now its just everyday... its like i should really take a long break
I was smoking 1 year ecery day few times a day, few days ago i smoked 1 gram of 44% thc and it almost didn't affect me and i was sober after 35min. I decided to go on a T-break and i am currently at 2 days and 9h xd wish me luck

Calms the manic tendencies.
Also allows me to eat when the stress of mental trauma kills my appetite. I wouldn't say smoking 24/7 is the best idea but I can say Marijuana. Compared to phyce and seizure meds is life changing in correct doces.

I'm 23 and graduated during covid, been unemployed for over a year and just started smoking to help with my depression, and I feel as though it may have had a positive effect on what I think has been inattentive ADHD. However, that made me contempt and never helped with motivation at all. It's only recently that I've begun reading more and looking at CBT that I'm beginning to balance the two for a healthier productive life. Though, I've had to try and find a good balance, my tolerance picks up fairly quick
check out Russo' article - Taming THC ... great read regarding entourage and which types of cannabis etc....
For the record though, 1 in 100,000 is not a small number in America where the population is 330 Million people. Thats roughly 3,500 young girls committing suicide which is a fckn lot of people and shouldn't be overlooked in this debate.
Does this guy not realize that pot is legal in Canada for recreational use...
I couldn't imagine smoking weed and having OCD must feel insane
