- Royal Purple vs Mobil 1 - It is quite challenging to choose the best one between Royal purple and Mobil 1. In terms of cost & additive technology, Mobil 1 is considered better than royal purple synthetic oil.
Both Royal Purple and Mobil 1 Oil are the two leading brands of synthetic motor oil in the world.
Royal Purple is a High-Performance Synthetic Motor Oil and Mobil 1 is an Annual Protection Ultimate Full Synthetic Oil.
Both Oil has trusted market value & great performance history. The fact is that these two have slight differences in their formulations.

Anyone who's actually took the time to do an independent oil analysis which I have on Mobil 1 and Royal Purple there is a reason why Royal Purple costs more. Royal Purple has a much more robust additive package in comparison to mobile 1 which is mainly what you're paying for. Royal Purple has an SUS viscosity of 7.0 with a TBN value over 6. Royal Purple HPS has over 1,300 parts-per-million zinc and phosphorus with around 12 to 1300 parts per million calcium with around 300 parts per million boron with about 1100 parts-per-million Molly and other detergent based additives. Mobile one barely has half of the additive package that Royal Purple has and this video is incorrect anyone who only changes their oil yearly you're going to ruin your engine it doesn't matter the quality of your motor oil all oils breakdown over time due to moisture and fuel dilution as well as additive package depletion there is no oil on the market that can remain stable after one year of use. Even with a very high-quality synthetic oil that falls into a group 5 base stock I would not even recommend taking over 8000 Miles. And for comparison Mobil 1 oil base stock only falls under a group 3 refined mineral oil it's not even a true synthetic.
Thank you. I hate mobil oil after using that advanced fuel economy one. It made my car feel like crap
Rp ....depends on which one.
Mobil 1 full synthetic 10,000 mile or royal purple full synthetic?
I did my first Royal Purple oil change today. I used to run Mobil 1. Suffice to say, Mobil 1 can kick the curb. Right off the bat there was a HUGE difference. Engine ran MUCH smoother, oil pressure was way better, and the engine was much quieter after the change than Mobil 1 ever made it. I used the HPS Royal Purple. It may be expensive, but is well worth the price guys.
I've been running Mobil 1 high mileage in my Colorado 2004. 512 thousand Miles and still purrs like a kitten. World class motor oil.
Do you drive it hard? Or loaded?
Yes,good stuff.
You gave a review without actually giving a review like what the fuck no opinion wow
Better off to use a less expensive synthetic oil and change every 5K miles rather than once a year.
2017 jeep compass with 130k miles using royal purple the entire time, we haven't had any issues whatsoever just basic maintenance like brakes and filter changes, runs like a champ and we change every 5k miles and we don't burn oil and it comes out pretty damn clear
2002 Jeep Liberty using Mobil 1 also no issues. So what does that mean about the comparison between two?
Not really comparable. they have had the Jeep since new. Have you had that 02 since new?
Also ones a 8 year old Fiat engine and one is a 21 year old Chrysler engine.
If you've both truly had no issues with those Jeeps I would chock it up more to driving like grandmas/not much driving at all before I'd think the oil had anything to do with it LOL
I’ve used both and I’m a fan of both, but there’s a reason why Royal Purple costs more. For the average everyday driver who just wants a good synthetic oil, Mobil One will do just fine
Except now you can buy Royal Purple 🟣 in major retailers at the same cost as mobile 1. Two examples, Walmart & Advance Auto, on sale even a little cheaper at times.
@@therealtech833 yeah def at Walmart. That’s where usually get it
Which one would you prefer if a driver does ride share(uber)
@@crockbo Royal Purple
After replacing the lifters, bearings and rockers on my 3.6 in my 2015 Grand Caravan, the mechanic told me to only use this oil to avoid this recurring repair for which this engine is notorious for. I change my oil every 3 k miles.
Which oil was it that you used ?
Did this video say replace yearly ? I have used both and i still replace it every 5 to 7000km
Someone knows if royal purple oil can be used in a Toyota tundra 4.6 v8 ?
Yes of course
I use it in my 08 taco all the time
Thank you!
Royal purple v.s. Quaker state full synthetic
This video did not do justice to Royal Purple. I have used this oil for 15 years. This oil is so good that sometimes i think it may be an overkill for daily use. First and foremost, If an engine has a ticking noise, and you add Royal purple to it, that noise tends to reduce. Royal purple cleans the internals of your engine so well, that some parts may still look like new when you open your engine after years of constant oil change. I use to change my Royal purple every 2,000 - 3, 000 miles and I have never been disappointed by Royal Purple. I truly believe Royal Purple may have forced many of the other oil companies to start using group IV base oils instead of the group III base oil they once used to refer to as Synthetic oil. I think Mobil 1 used to be a group III oil but I think they may have switched to group IV oil simply because the modern day engine design, the manufacturers, and their customers simply demand the best. I believe Mobil 1 may be on the same level today as Royal Purple. So, the modern Mobil 1 formulation is now an excellent oil and i would recommend it. But, Royal Purple will remain my love because it was Royal Purple that showed me how strong a synthetic engine oil should be. I drove an engine 200,000 miles very hard with Royal Purple and the engine was still kicking hard---no issues. Royal Purple actually helps your engine squeeze out the most horsepower possible in your engine for the current tune. The only non-synthetic oil I trust just as Royal Purple is Castrol GTX---exceptional non-synthetic oil---designed for hard driving.
Mobil 1 is a class 3 mineral oil, it’s not even a true synthetic oil. I’d keep running RP
Speaker sounds like AI
Sounds like it was written and read by AI
Ok for my experience royal purple is good the first 1000 miles then start burn . Mobil 1 last way longer
I actually had the opposite experience. The Mobil 1 burned like crazy, and the RP remained full.
Lol you're conclusion is RP is better because you say it is?
RP by a mile
There is a video on UA-cam by I think its Project Farm? that shows various test on both 5w-30 oils Mobil One and Royal Purple the cold test sold me on Mobil One the Royal purple was thicker than frozen honey
@@6548ww watch Ford Boss me videos on oil analysis. Mobile one finishes last in every category consistently
@@josephhettiger2711 I will look it up my next weekend off see what it’s about
@@6548ww cold test barely means anything lol all oils will need time to warm up
@@TheTiredPirate The faster the oil gets to the top of the motor in freezing temps the better is the whole point but if that's not important to you it's your car not mine
All you did was run your mouth. WHERE IS YOUR DATA?
Obviously an AI generated useless "review"
