Don't forget, Canadians have been electing the Liberals or Conservatives since 1867. Many go to the polls and vote for the party they believed was evil incarnate only 4-8 years ago (I must add, rather than vote for the NDP). I voted for the libs about 25 years ago, when I was out of high school and super green around the gills. Don't forget, Canadians have been electing the Liberals or Conservatives since 1867. Many go to the polls and vote for the party they believed was evil incarnate only 4-8 years ago (I must add, rather than vote for the NDP). None of that matters when our voting system was only designed for two parties. All the Cons have to do is split the non con vote several ways to win. I voted for the libs about 25 years ago, when I was out of high school and super green around the gills. If they had taken a moral stand on this issue I would have voted for them next year, but frankly I'm even dissatisfied with the NDP's apparent wishy washiness when it comes to genocide. In provincial politics I voted Green this year because Elizabeth May called out Netanyahu by name and has expressed the proper amount of disdain and moral outrage required in the face of genocide. When there is a genocide that is ongoing (and by the by Sudan is not getting enough coverage either), it will be a one issue election for me. Period. I will vote for whomever stands in solidarity with the Palestinians, and if no one does I will use my ballot to protest or to to vote against the Cons if they're likely to win in my area, but rain or shine, sickness or health, I will be a the polling station.
