I spotted a HUGE shellcracker on a bed in a pond, and wanted to film some underwater gopro footage of me trying to catch this big redear! Do you call them shellcrackers or redear? Anyways, I bet it was about 2lbs and it was massive! They were chasing each other the day before and fanning their red gills at each other. I had never seen that before! Fishing for bluegill on beds can be fun but it can also be aggravating!

I have a spot where they are everywhere on beds and I get them on small weightless hooks with red worms. They’re a step up from blue gill in my opinion. More weary of hook and line and fight way harder

Wish they had shellcrackers up north when I was kid cause the panfish don't grow very big up north and few people fish for them.

@@FishingwithNordbye yes but it's nowhere near as popular as it is in the south and I never seen a cane pole until I moved south.
Use red worms man. Or night crawlers. They eat em up. On 4 lb floro. We regularly catch pound and a halfers here.

Really tho guys!!? I've never understood why so many of y'all be forever staying with this color for your lures..? Everything we have ever read on the subject tells us that white = no good and that green and red = fish bananza!!!!!
