Case worker 1)doesn’t check that the dad was working 2) never physically checks Dylan 3) multiple times missed her visit she did nothing 4)missed court dates and she never question why ? 5) Monster Mam was there and she never questioned why 6) Dad never keeps in contact with her ? What the flying f**k 🤬
Patricia Craft and the rest of CPS should be fired, tried and convicted for their negligence. I would also review all case this woman has ever put her hands on
agony of it all I agree completely. She can’t even speak proper English. I can’t believe she was in charge of this case, or works at cps at all!!!! It’s shameful and she should be held accountable.
I think that it goes on bigger than that, I believe most CPS agencies are highly under staffed and over worked, as a government agency I almost want to blame the government as well for not making better cps.
I agree, and I’m not even half way through this! I’ve been a labor and delivery nurse since 93’. So far I can’t understand how they ( CPS, hospital) let this baby go home with these “parents”. We’ve reported incidents way less troublesome than this nightmare and the baby is kept in the nursery till a plan is devised for a safe home. I’m sure I will have more to say as finish this sad story.
@@pantoponrosegoatoe4129 he was released to a foster family and then the parents got placement afterwards. And, as a nurse, you should know the medical staff have no authority in child placement. They can only refer to CPS which they did
It would have literally taken one phone call to verify dads employment and it was not done. Had it been done he would not have gotten custody. CPS should be on trial for negligence as well.
YES! 1 call to dads job or 1 call to see that Jessica stopped going to counseling or 1 conversation w Daniel JR even worked 😳. An unpaid intern could have made those calls. Why would They EVER believe an addict all they do is lie even when clean they tend to keep lying
I used to work for child support, we did it all the time, it's extremely simple... Literally "Hey i'm calling to verify employment for .... " and it's yes, or no he's not been here since....
They’re all surprised he lied.. Thats what they all do... a bank robber doesn’t say he robbed a bank! 🥴 I get the state is trying to make a point the the dad intentionally deceived CPS, so he was complicit... BUT she is talking as if that excuses her responsibility. She did not favt checking. where did Jessica say she lived “friend and family” but gave no specific information??? Duh she lives at her own home!
I just can't get over how this CPS government waste of a paycheck can even go out in public. She should be sitting next to the defendants instead of pretending she did her job
They’re no different in Australia 🇦🇺 it’s Children’s Services that failed this baby and have blood on their hands, like so many thousands - probably millions-of Children before him - they only care about covering their arse!
Totally agree!!! This is just so heart breaking, the torment that was forced upon this baby who couldn't defend himself, Both the DCSS and DFACS systems are allowing these children back into the abuse and it's so wrong!!!! There are laws to protect these children, however, you have to follow them, in order to, enforce them. In most cases, that's the problem!!! The entire government entity needs to be revamped with tighter reigns and holding these agencies accountable, and if memory serves me right, these CPS agencies are mandated reporters, in that, if they suspect abuse and do nothing they are liable and face criminal charges.
She didnt do much to protect the child but the actions were taken by the couple and the responsibility of the child is of the parents. I do think they should be fired as CPS workers when this happens. They failed at their job.
Wondering why she’s hiding her face??? She had ONE JOB!! Wow. So she left notes, card’s and she let them have the baby back in 12 days?? I’m more upset with cps than the parents after hearing this cps worker talk
CPS is absolutely worthless. They are just as guilty as the "parents". They can't even be bothered to verify employment before sending a helpless baby home with druggies?😡 This poor little guy never had a chance.
Exactly! The Foster mother was the only one who gave a crap about that baby and no one would listen to her. Government knows best and we sheeple should just shut up and take it. They are just as responsible as the parents. Sorry, I'm furious
They didnt verify anything. She takes "statements" as facts. Things they said they were planning as "events" any child placed in that home should have been checked on numerous times. A transition to unfounded claims. That's the thing, once they baby leaves the hospital and a doctor cannot see any injuries, it's downhill. A photo of the child should have been taken in the crib in the home that was also checked. None of these events happened. CYS has a mission and laws they are sworn to uphold. When will we start holding these agencies responsible?? From the overworked caseworker the whole way up to the case managers to Supervisors... ALL OF THEM are guilty just as much as these pieces of garbage. I hope Daniel jr. Gets some help (yet another thing the tax payers will have to provide) why not put these monsters in a hole and give all the money it take to provide housing in prison given to the victims... Daniel Jr, the foster parent compensation for missed work, stress and every item she purchased for the child she should have never lost.
Of course, this CPS worker wants to hide her face. So sad for this baby and the other son. These parents are pathetic. On both their facial expressions through this trial. Hopefully, they both get the book handed to them! And they have to live with themselves the rest of their life!! And prisoners treat them like they deserve!!
One child death is 1 too many, the amount of children that have lost their lives while CPS is involved is absolutely unacceptable!! The federal government needs to enforce the CPS agency to completely alter the system so it actually protects the children. This has been going on far too long.
The parents and cps failed this child. Why did the case worker not see that the wife never left home? Missing appointments, and no returned calls. This is all wrong. There were so many signs. RIH baby Dylan 🙏🏼💙
Yes...exactly! Though both of those parents are total scumbags, CPS needed to be held accountable for the death of that child as well. Most would be surprised regarding the "credentials" of CPS workers. I worked as a paralegal for an attorney that represented parents and acted as guardian ad litem for children within the CPS system and I can tell you honestly and with certainty that most of the CPS officials I communicated with were much like this woman testifying...some were better, most were worse. Very few even had degrees in social work and any other related field. In my state, many were hired solely on the basis of passing a state civil service test. Most high school students can pass that test. So much incompetence and total apathy for this precious child. SAD...and in my opinion, criminal!
This caseworker could have cared less. Knowing that the parents have issues, and she did not verify the things that were told to her. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know there were issues. Everyone failed Dylan; not just his parents.
This CPS worker screwed up big time Instead of being a witness, she should be a co-defendant that sits next to the murderers. If I would be jury member, I would find this CPS worker guilty for not doing her job, which eventually got killed baby Dylan. Even the foster parent knew better and advised against returning baby Dylan...
The Counselor for the rehabilitation center said she left several messages letting CPS know Jessica wasnt coming for her appts. My question-why wasnt the baby removed at that point or Jessica questioned as to why? AND not allowed visitation until she complied?
I agree. This is unacceptable!! It happens much too often, change needs to happen, children deserve protection. It makes me sick to my stomach to think about the suffering these children endure. It needs to change!
If the government is going to involve themselves in people's lives, at least do it right. The Foster mother was the only one who did not fail that baby and no one would listen to her. My heart is just breaking over this
Just Sarah I believe they have to hold the baby play with them to see if their body hurts or bruised. then she or he can get the hell out , not before. someone who doesn’t have a custody of the child is holding him. she never questioned that?
Esmat Karimi I just can’t get over this CPS worker (using word “worker” very liberally). She visits with the mother holding the baby each time, doesn’t hold or touch the baby, doesn’t hear any sounds from baby, doesn’t check baby for abuse, doesn’t follow up on any of their statements (lies). I think the entire State Dept is a joke but certain specific caseworkers make it even worse that it has to be.
Unfortunately this is par for the course with dcf case workers. Most of them failed in other careers, are overloaded with cases and are numb to the horror that they see every day in these homes.
100% agree! That baby would still be here if the right person had that case! The system here in the states is a joke! People lose their kids for much less! I can’t believe this entire case! No wonder she didn’t want her face shown!
You can hear the defensiveness in her voice (cps). It just reeks. And you can hear her nervously shuffling papers continually, throughout her testimony. As a psych nurse / therapist and later as an expert witness for med mal cases, Ive never encountered a cps case (in 3 different states) that met the standards of care or professional guidelines by any stretch of the imagination. ALSO - is it a local custom here to ignore correct verb conjugation? Ugh!
Brian Baldridge, a state legislator whose district includes Scioto County, said he had been working on legislation that would standardize how the agencies are run, and would ensure children are not returned to their parents until they have a proven record of recovery from addiction - and not just one “short-term clean drug test.” Here is DYLANS LAW thats being worked on to pass on ohio
No prenatal care & postive drug results in mum and baby should of been enough to remove baby Dylan from care of MOTHER & FATHER! IMMEDIATELY & INDEFINITELY!!! PERIOD!!!
They should have been required to take some classes and pass a couple of tests before they even consider letting a baby go into this environment 12 days after they messed up!!!! WTAF????
Paula Cooper Not only did CS fail to do any checks - but who was going to look after the baby while he was at his supposed job - these people are thick! Don’t need a degree to know how to ensure the safety of a child... clearly all these people with degrees fail children on a daily basis - the degree is all about making the workers submissive to the system - the system that repetitively FAILS
Paula Cooper, exactly and furthermore what are the chances that only one partner uses drugs and not the other as well especially in an area that’s heavily afflicted by substance abuse? These COS people call themselves professionals?
Brittnie Steele it’s the job of CPS and all these tax payers funded organizations to help DAD find childcare for the baby , continue working and complying with the orders of the court.
If the dad was supposed to be employed and the mom was not supposed to be in the home who was supposed to be taking care of baby Dylan during the day? I have heard no mention of a daycare. Anybody know?
It's painful to listen to. "I seen them"... "they was not home"... "ain't nobody home".... "we was trying to get in contact with him" Her grammar is only less horrible than her complete apathy and incompetence in her role to ensure that this child was protected from these losers. A total CPS failure. She should hide her face in shame but I imagine from her tone, she takes no accountability. I hope she is no longer working for this agency.
I know a lot of CPS workers are angels and pour their heart and soul into protecting these children with very little resources. Patricia Craft failed this child and should be charged as well. I feel sorry for all the hospital workers who tried to protect this precious child from these “parents.”
CPS dropped the ball BIG TIME! straight up criminally negligent . The case worker should be held liable or fired. No surprise she doesn't want to be filmed while testifying. Sickening
The entire CPS system in this country needs to be dismantled due to incompetency. Time after time we hear the same old thing; they never successfully intervene and “save” a child. They always fail. It’s disgusting! Why are they there? Disgusting!
I watch many court cases and thats ALWAYS the case when kids/babies are killed. seems CPS is always involved, there is always someone close who has been concerned and telling them, but they always fail. seems these workers are either lazy or incompetent or both. Ik some are overloaded with cases but not all cases are severe, those should be put on front.
Exactly...they're too busy trying to mess w/ actual good parents like ones on actual prescribes medicines and calls from disgruntled ppl trying to get back at somebody!
Where I stay that baby would still be in cps custody in foster care they don't take nothing lightly no second chances sometimes if they take the child you more than likely not getting that child or kids back even if you prove you clean.
Ffs,this is making me want to tear my hair out!!!! Did this effin woman actually do anything at all to protect this beautiful boy?? It appears the parents did nothing to comply, and the cps woman did absolutely nothing to enforce the order, she should be on trial for neglecting to protect a child, she never held Dylan, she never examined him, what the f... Was she doing to earn her salary, grrrrrrr
Patricia Craft says the house was in good condition! I’m no Martha Stewart, but I saw the photos and that house was NOT clean and a pack and play is not a crib.
I think pack and plays are deemed safe and acceptable substitutes. However, those bonus services would have assisted them in getting items they needed for the baby if they actually catef
This caseworker should have verified he was working from the beginning, she should have been in contact with the drug court & the other place Jessica was supposed to be going to for therapy. She should have examined Dylan when she saw him! She should have done a lot more than she did.
YES any 1 of those phone calls could have saved that baby and they could Have had an unpaid intern make those calls wouldn’t have taken any work on her part 😞
Something I think many people are not aware of... Baby bones are not easily broken. Its actually very hard to break because the bones are not fully hardend yet. Baby bones can withstand impact because the bones are more supple. Some people comment thinking that its easier for a baby to break bones like the bones are easily broken but thats not the case at all!!! It takes quite a force to break an infant bone!
Geezus, that just makes everything so much worse (if that can possibly be). That poor baby. I just want to cry now.. I guess when it comes to Jessica's time to be questioned, I will find out exactly how the he'll she broke his bones. Ragdolls don't have bones to break. Poor Dylan.
This is true. When I had my daughter and she was only 4lbs 7oz I was being so careful with her. The nurse said she wouldn't break and told me this exact statement. This poor baby was failed by everyone the state pays to protect him. Some of that fault lies with CPS. The "parents" should be beaten a left to suffer. A child is the most precious gift from God anyone could ever receive and they destroyed poor Dylan.
I feel so sorry for that baby for what he went thru! I also feel so sorry for Daniel Jr! All his parents put him thru too! Being embarrassed by his parents and having CPS coming to his school all the time because their actions !!!
At a minimum, Daniel knew how unbalanced and dangerous his wife was to this poor infant, and he did absolutely nothing. He knew Jessica was still staying at the house, she wasn't leaving at night. He never should have agreed to take custody of the baby from the foster mother. He could have left the baby with her because he knew that it was not good to bring that baby home, but he didn't do that. He lied and took that baby home knowing Jessica was still going to be there and would still be using drugs.
Patricia Craft keeps answering questions without knowing the answer! Does she not realize how important this trial and her job are? She’s useless. She needs to be held just as accountable as the monsters at the defendant table. The foster mother would have given Dylan an excellent life!
I love how the CPS CO wanted her face hidden, yet it took me the entirety of 30 seconds to find a picture of her. Now the only thing I want to find is her mugshot for criminal negligence.
If Dylan was to be in the care of his father and the father was required to be working full time then who was supposed to be caring for Dylan while the father was at work?
She's passing notes. I saw her pass Daniel notes and him mouth to her "I hate you" and her start crying. That made me happy. She deserves to feel horrible for the rest of her life.
I don't get it. What's the difference with her being there at the house but as long as she don't sleep there?? Of which case... Dylan was technically sent home to both parents and not just to the father's care. It just don't make sense to me.
right!! she was not supposed to be in the home and not supppsed to have unsupervised visits. but for them to allow HIM to be the one to supervise is ignorance!! these 2 were hardcore addicts and A+ manipulators! CPS workers should know how to deal with lying, manipulative addicts
@@krisniznik3953 he took 6 months off,at least that is what he told them. I think he wasn't working at all. They both where stealing and doing drugs. The little boy didn't stand a chance with those two junkies. Its sad so sad if everybody payed attention like they supposed to he whould still be alive and very happy with his foster mom 😔
Why wouldn't CPS verified what the Groves told them regarding the Dylan's doctor appointments drug sessions and drug testing? Of course they are going to say they are doing everything they were supposed to. Also why didn't she hold the baby or ask that the long-sleeved sleeper be removed to look for bruises, etc.?
I don't buy for a minute that Daniel Groves didn't know what was going on. The fact that he didn't respond to CPS's attempts to contact him, didn't answer the door, etc., speaks volumes. He knew what was going on. He may not have been the one physically abusing the child, but he was a witness to it and did nothing. He is as guilty as she is, no matter what his excuses are. And I fully believe he is a drug addict as well. As far as CPS is concerned, they were grossly negligent in their handling of this matter. Given the nature and severity of the addiction, and that the baby was born addicted, the FIRST time they were not able to get in touch with Daniel Groves, they should have gotten a court order and went to the trailer with the police and removed the baby immediately. These people are a joke.
I'm shocked and so sad - there was no mention of procedure when there were multiple no shows/no contact. Agree in these circumstances the CPS should have contacted police to bring some order into the whole thing. I Here in U.K. there would have been major action, intense scrutiny and escalation of the parents' dodging the visits before they could have said 'pass the spliff'!!!! Yet it seems to be common in US to see every bickering neighbour or couple or Karen calling the police and hey presto a couple of gigantic cop cars appear with overweight dunk in' donut cops spending way too long sorting out a civil over-egged drama! So many questions for the US re this imbalance and not nearly enough time ☹️ 🙈
CPS should be on trial for not doing their job. Innocent baby Dylan you had no help from the moment you entered Earth, The saying is "An angel in the book of life wrote down Dylan's birth. Then whispered as she closed the book 'too beautiful for earth'. "In the arm's of the Angel's baby Dylan" Fly little wing.
What qualifications did she have for that job? My 5y/o grandson takes care of his two little sisters and will ask you 50 questions about why they're crying if he didn't see what happened. You can't come near them with a bad vibe or he'll ask you what's wrong. This lady didn't ask no questions, didn't ask to hold the baby, didn't verify that the parents kept mandatory appointments, didn't verify the dad's employment, didn't confirm any of their excuses, she's their ACCOMPLICE!
So CPS didn't even bother to verify this "mother" following up on her requirements? They just took two drug addicts and a teenagers word for it... Even thr fact momster was not living there .. Took their word for it. Ridiculous! CPS should be charged or just disolved there's no reason for them
Promiseluv27 OMG. I can’t believe what I am hearing....TOOK THE WORD OF TWO DRUG ADDICTS AND A 14 YEAR OLD? This incompetent Illiterate, ...no wonder she is hiding her face. This is stunning testimony.
@@jennifertomlin4860 I know!!! I bet Ms cps does drug. Like she probably sat there getting high with the parents. (I don't know this or really not sure I believe what I said) but damn usually CPS won't believe anything anyone say, drug addict or straight up law abiding citizen. This is fishy sadly no one really is there to friggin sue this bitch. She failed this child right to death
I can’t believe how this woman who is supposed to be testifying as a professional never uses the word “Sir” in this formal setting and as a common curtesy and uses the word “was” instead of “were” EVERY TIME! “All of them was there” 🙄
Also don’t understand why they took the 14 yr old out of the house but left a baby. A 14 yr old boy can speak up for himself or leave or tell someone what’s going on. The baby has no voice!! He can’t speak up!! CPS messes up bad!!! They should have taken the baby 1st! He never should have went to Jessica and Daniel in the first place!!! CPS was that babies voice! And they messed up! Bad!! Hindsight!!
MandaFandaa the cps lady sounded like she was protecting herself. Never called around and asked questions and took their answers at face value. What a joke!!!!!
They wouldn't be if they actually had proper funding and people stopped calling CPS to get back at folks they don't like or because the neighbor cussed at their kid.
Why are they wearing matching clothes? This is not a family photo shoot!! You killed your son!! Also, everything the parents did screams drug use! Cancelled visits with high risk parents is a huge red flag!! Not to mention, missing court. CS failed this poor baby!!
It's amazing how if you foster they have to see the baby naked to confirm there are no injuries to the child at your home visits. Apparently in Ohio if you are the parent you can hold the baby the whole time and it's completely fine. Smh.
Another fine job by CPS (eyeroll). Neglecting the kids that actually need help, and taking kids from good parents over nothing. Off topic: the paper wrestlin back and forth by the mic is driving me nuts.
Firstly they should be kept away from each other. Their sat there looking like their passing notes in a science lesson showing no interest what so ever. It's their bloody trial for god sake . I hope she gets a wake up call in prison wishes she was high so she cant feel the pain of being beat up . Selfish monster !!
My third child was 5.5lbs and I took care of that pregnancy like no other before. She looked premature and I only had 2 more weeks to go. I cry the whole 3 weeks she was at the hospital just seeing her and not taking her home. I wanted to move to the neonatal unit with her. Can't imagine this poor baby fighting for his life so young.
My 2nd set of twins were 9 weeks early and in the hospital 1 month. I was blessed to be close enough to get up there for feedings several times a day. I already had 3 kids at home and that was still a priority for my babies to know my hold, my voice, my snuggle and safety 😢
@@cortney3798 My daughter was one in a % of baby with very low body fat, her skin was saggy. She really look premature to me. But she did great and turned 5 last november. I still remember how scared I was to even hold her. I never seen a baby so little as her. Baby are so smart they know our voice very good by the time they are born.
So was there a case plan and a safety plan in place? If there was a case plan I have NEVER heard of working a case plan for 12 days, with an emergency removal, and the child is returned to drug addicted parents. One clean urine does not mean drug free. And the crap of not observing the urine test is just mindblowing! The nonchalant attitude of DFACS is just heartbreaking! Was Dylan assigned a Guardian At Litem? I dont know how this caseworker can sleep at night...🤔🙄😭
The woman on the stand is supposedly an educated person. However her grammar is glaringly Bad! Not only a word here and there but all throughout her testimony. I had to recheck who was actually speaking.
YES, this POS case worker had EVERY OPPORTUNITY to hold, touch and manipulate the baby but SHE CHOSE NOT TO. There's a very BIG difference between COULDN'T and DIDN'T- she DIDN'T. You'd think an ATTORNEY would know that...... 😠😠😠😠😠
So CPS went 21 days without seeing this vulnerable baby, never held him or checked him over physically, never fact checked anything they told her and didn’t follow up on any of her responsibilities?! How does she still have a job?!
That baby should have stayed with Mrs bowling for good. Cps and the parents should be locked away for good. No one but Mrs bowling cared for baby dillon. He'd be alive today
The Pink Survivor Warrior I thought they were on something , not something you can buy over the counter either !! But wouldn’t they have been tested prior to the court appearances ? Poor little baby .x.
Between government, and parents that poor innocent baby didn’t have a chance to survive. Not a bit!!! shame on all of us, for not doing more , and standing up for the innocent! Heartbreaking , and more Heartbreak to come with more children to be ignored by our government!
She stated that they couldn’t locate family to take Dylan. Suddenly there’s an aunt/uncle for Daniel Jr!! Too little, too late. Sadly at the cost of a baby’s life. Here the parent has to supply proof of employment, any treatment required - they must advise of missed appointments, etc... One dead/injured child is one too many!
I have never understood giving notice of when you are going to show up, whether it's to a child visitation like this or to let a restaurant know when you are showing up to inspect them. Of course you aren't going to catch them doing wrong, they have time to "fix" whatever the issue is beforehand.
They should have fact checked all of Daniel’s claims regarding his employment, where Jessica was staying, whether she was attending rehab, why he was missing court dates, scheduled visits, and appointments FROM THE VERY BEGINNING. They also should have asked Daniel Jr. from the beginning about her staying there.
It. Completely boggles my mind that no one in child protective services was charged for allowing these monsters to take this poor baby OUT of a safe loving foster home before they KNEW he would be safe!! They are just as culpable as the patents in my eyes!!
I thought Jessica was not allowed to stay , then another sleeper, she would not have noticed anything , and you believe them ? did you check with drug court ? no
Since when do you TEXT Social Services 🤔 it’s shady on the parents side and in my opinion unprofessional for the social worker ! Also his body language towards her ..... he cannot stand her atm !
I cannot fathom why the hell CPS wouldnt observe their drug screens. A child's life hangs in the balance, you'd think they'd want to be sure the urine is coming from the client and not smuggled in.
@@stayhydrated8321 Also, junkies don't just not use. I know my situation lasted 13 years with heroin, every single day. There was no such thing as not using for a day or two or three.
@@Randaddy25 not true. Can take only 24 hours for some opiates to leave the system. Meth can take 1-4 days. Which is why a negative test doesn’t mean anything to me. Why on earth is Children's Services doing urine drug screens where the client cannot be watched? Why not a saliva test? Client can remain in sight of the worker the entire time.
I’ve never heard of a saliva drug test. Not all drugs can be detected through saliva, I don’t think. I’m a recovering addict (over 5 years clean now) and I was on methadone for years to slowly come off the opioids with minimal withdrawal symptoms. This means frequent urine tests- weekly at the very least. The bathrooms in the clinic are wired with multiple cameras and patients are watched carefully to prevent tampering. Way back when I first went on the program, the women’s bathroom wasn’t yet renovated and wired with cameras-so there was a female staff member who supervised the female patients during their urine samples. However, this is a voluntary program that patients have agreed to... I don’t know that CPS can force that on people under threat of tearing their family apart (remember that 99.9% of cases DO NOT end in horrific tragedies like this one).
@@jillronan6786 I'm 99% sure saliva tests test for the same drugs as urine tests, I think they are more expensive though. I was also on a methadone programme and I started with urine samples but they moved to saliva tests. It's possible to fake a saliva test aswell.
I found this about a saliva test. cocaine, heroin, amphetamines and ecstasy can be detected by this test over a period of 24 to 48 hours after the last use. This time may vary according to each person's metabolism, as well as the quantity and quality of the drug that was consumed.

And caseworker never asks WHERE DAD IS when he did not appear in court.and never asks him next day at home visit ...she’s a real piece of work WOW. Again, where is supervisor and is she auditing her case notes.
Didn't follow up if he had a job and really had 6 months pay coming? Did follow up about his Father? Didn't even check if she was staying the night? Didn't care that he wasn't showing up for court, didn't even bother asking about it!
33:03 and following: for heaven’s sake, was that meeting held on January 24th or 25th??? I do not know if I’m missing something or if both State and witness simply do not care about what they are saying...
Just Sarah • The attorney is the first to introduce the date 24th. Then, the following statements are made about that day: 1. the meeting had been held on 24th; 2. the caseworker met baby’s parent for the first time at that meeting. 3. then, the attorney rephrases his question about when the caseworker did meet the parents for the first time, and her answer is: “on 25th, at this meeting”. So, 24th or 25th? Hope you get my point. The foster mom says nothing and is not on the stand. The caseworker is, and she can only speak for herself.

agony of it all I agree completely.
Is this caseworker still employed as a caseworker? Pray not.
AND then she didn't ask the last work day? Let alone call them before baby Dylan goes into his care.
They’re all surprised he lied.. Thats what they all do... a bank robber doesn’t say he robbed a bank! 🥴
I get the state is trying to make a point the the dad intentionally deceived CPS, so he was complicit... BUT she is talking as if that excuses her responsibility. She did not favt checking. where did Jessica say she lived “friend and family” but gave no specific information??? Duh she lives at her own home!
a social worker was indicted in this case in Nov, 2021
I just can't get over how this CPS government waste of a paycheck can even go out in public. She should be sitting next to the defendants instead of pretending she did her job
Becky Dennis yes!!! She asked nothing. Cannot even believe she’s as negligent as they were
They’re no different in Australia 🇦🇺 it’s Children’s Services that failed this baby and have blood on their hands, like so many thousands - probably millions-of Children before him - they only care about covering their arse!
She's so angry too, like she is above all this, answering questions with a condicending attitude
This is why she did not want to be filmed.
This CPS employee sure does have an attitude for someone who didn’t do much to protect this child
She didnt do much to protect the child but the actions were taken by the couple and the responsibility of the child is of the parents.

Exactly! The Foster mother was the only one who gave a crap about that baby and no one would listen to her. Government knows best and we sheeple should just shut up and take it. They are just as responsible as the parents. Sorry, I'm furious
boo berry I agree so sad
Hard and angry.
Shame on CPS. You went several times not making contact with that child. Blood is on YOUR hands AS WELL
CPS needs to be held accountable and prosecuted by a jury for their negligence.
Mandy Crews as always unfortunately
@BettySwalls OO good idea...i will
One child death is 1 too many, the amount of children that have lost their lives while CPS is involved is absolutely unacceptable!! The federal government needs to enforce the CPS agency to completely alter the system so it actually protects the children. This has been going on far too long.
Absolutely 💯
The parents and cps failed this child. Why did the case worker not see that the wife never left home? Missing appointments, and no returned calls. This is all wrong. There were so many signs. RIH baby Dylan 🙏🏼💙
Rip gorgeous Dylan
Also god bless your brother may he be happy and have a blessed life
Yes...exactly!

ABSOLUTELY! 👍🏻
The Counselor for the rehabilitation center said she left several messages letting CPS know Jessica wasnt coming for her appts.
My question-why wasnt the baby removed at that point or Jessica questioned as to why? AND not allowed visitation until she complied?
I hope she got fired and there CPS got sued.

Unfortunately this is par for the course with dcf case workers. Most of them failed in other careers, are overloaded with cases and are numb to the horror that they see every day in these homes.

YES any 1 of those phone calls could have saved that baby and they could
Have had an unpaid intern make those calls wouldn’t have taken any work on her part 😞
Poor Dylan.
Truth! Baby bones are super flexible
What kind of child protection worker would do a home visit to a vulnerable family and not even bother to touch, hold or look over the newborn baby??
I love how the CPS CO wanted her face hidden, yet it took me the entirety of 30 seconds to find a picture of her. Now the only thing I want to find is her mugshot for criminal negligence.

But wouldn’t they have been tested prior to the court appearances ? Poor little baby .x.
Yes! I swear the "mother" yawned at 1 hour 28 minutes. She's disgusting.
Beauty4evamore ! Exactly!
@@thepinksurvivorwarrior2281 HOW do you know that? they've been in jail since they were both arrested so HOW can they be high?
Between government, and parents that poor innocent baby didn’t have a chance to survive. Not a bit!!! shame on all of us, for not doing more , and standing up for the innocent! Heartbreaking , and more Heartbreak to come with more children to be ignored by our government!
I wish they had that blonde female lawyer questioned this cps worker... oh wait... I forgot cps is a witness & not sitting next to the parents...
All of the CPS workers involved in Dylan’s case should be fired & charged with negligence.
One dead/injured child is one too many!
family may have agreed to take a 13/14yr old but not a newborn baby. theres a huge difference in level of care needed
Why did CPS not verify Daniel Groves employment before giving him custody?
It. Completely boggles my mind that no one in child protective services was charged for allowing these monsters to take this poor baby OUT of a safe loving foster home before they KNEW he would be safe!! They are just as culpable as the patents in my eyes!!
Very negligent. Unforgiveable.
Social Services is the UK version of CPS
Natalie Smith yup haha
@@nataliesmith2458 yes, how does she even know it is him!
Wow they failed this poor baby... I don’t get it.
CPS was charged with protecting this baby from the day it was born and the baby was killed 2 months later. Complete failure.
I cannot fathom why the hell CPS wouldnt observe their drug screens. A child's life hangs in the balance, you'd think they'd want to be sure the urine is coming from the client and not smuggled in.
Doesn’t matter if they had... all they had to do was not use for a day
@@stayhydrated8321 I get it, but you need more than a day to clean out. Thats why they need to hit these people with random tests and a lot of them.
Have to look at the whole picture... people’s behavior says a lot. Which is why 12 days was absolutely ridiculous, when determining rather the father was a fit parent. Smh!
@@stayhydrated8321 It depends on how much you use i suppose. And how often. Its incredible how many people don't deserve to be parents. Makes me sick.
@@jillronan6786 i went to a couple clinics due to its being re-stationed (hubby in military) the ppl on medicade had to be watched by staff in bathroom. I paid so i went alone. Even w/ staff in room you can use somebody's pee. Women put small bottle inside w/ foil they just pop w/ nail...men use a tube attached to bag that's taped to stomach. My 2nd clinic did saliva swabs which is done right in front of staff but I've heard they're not reliable but idk. I think something about mouthwash but idk i immediately stopped using when i got on it methadone bc it really helped so i didn't need to fudge tests. Clean 9yrs

Ok so he missed all but one home visit both court dates and never returned calls but she had no need to ask why
CPS is trash! If a drug addicted mother tells me she's staying with "friends and family" , I want names numbers addresses and I'm pulling up randomly to make sure she's where she says she is! How are just going to believe someone based on that ?? Smfh
Okay this college educated social worker has horrible grammar and I can't believe the prosecutor is sitting there chewing gum and blowing bubbles! Really?!
Ohio 🤷🏼♀️
why would you not hold baby during visit or look at him ?he had a sleeper covering body, so how would you know he was ok
Oh that is really professional...the prosecuting attorney (lady) chewing gum and blowing bubbles.
Yeah, most judges would not tolerate that
Right? I just checked comments to see if anyone else noticed that. So unprofessional.
@@marcym4983 The State looks incompetent. Starting with CS and now the prosecutors.
Lol ur reaching

WHY are the groves seated bedside each other and allowed to sit there and pass notes during court!
Good bloody question!
They are co defendants
I would love to ask the groves why they pushed to get the baby back?
Monthly home visits: problem one. Monthly visit rescheduled for following week:problem two. Excuses not verified (lies). You struck out.
No contact from feb 4 to the 21 and you just leave a note?!
Absolutely ridiculous. The CPS should be investigated as to why they never physically checked baby dylan!!!!!!
33:03 and following: for heaven’s sake, was that meeting held on January 24th or 25th??? I do not know if I’m missing something or if both State and witness simply do not care about what they are saying...
It was the 24th per the foster Mom.
Just Sarah • The attorney is the first to introduce the date 24th.
Then, the following statements are made about that day:
1. the meeting had been held on 24th;
2. the caseworker met baby’s parent for the first time at that meeting.
3. then, the attorney rephrases his question about when the caseworker did meet the parents for the first time, and her answer is: “on 25th, at this meeting”.
So, 24th or 25th?
Hope you get my point.
The foster mom says nothing and is not on the stand. The caseworker is, and she can only speak for herself.
Since a BABY CAN'T REPORT ABUSE, SHOULDN'T THEY BE MORE PROTECTED???!!!!
Female pros needs to stop chewing gum and blowing bubbles.......not professional ...

I worked twice for a division of CPS In Illinois. All they want you to do is reunification at any cost. I suspect most states are the same way. Sadly the children pay the costs of these poor decisions
why do they want reunification so bad when the foster parent would be lower risk?
Dylan should’ve been adopted by caring parents. Not return to those monsters.
