You can set up your assignment and prep for it before clicking on your assignment. So when you did the metal assignment you could start the production before you click the assignment, it just gives you a bit more time. It helps with items that are on long production.
And another thing. Every 3 days, Daniel buys everything in ur depot that doesn't get purchased. So if u have patience, u can sell ammo boxes for 3000 coins each.

You don’t have to wait until the end of the competition to put your park items back in your city. Once you have submitted your design they go right back in your storage.
U really do not need to do EVERYTHING they ask u to. I've been playing 6 years and I've still never built the Eiffel tower!
