- Is Ibiza's Glory Fading? In this video, I'm here to give you a glimpse of what's currently unfolding in Ibiza. We kick off by exploring the extensive construction underway, particularly in San Antonio, showcasing the changing landscape. Additionally, we'll take a tour of Privilege Ibiza, which has come under the management of Ushuaia and Hi Ibiza, marking a shift in the latest nightclub scene on the island.
Privilege Ibiza is presently undergoing renovations following its acquisition by the same owners as Ushuaia Ibiza and Hi Ibiza. With a significant multi-million-euro refurbishment underway, the club is set for an exciting grand reopening in 2025.

The trouble with Ibiza is simple. It’s now full of people who are more concerned with letting the whole world know they are in Ibiza via their phone rather than actually enjoying and losing themselves for the weekend/week
Bang on!
Why do you care? Just enjoy yourself bruv
It’s literally been like that for about 25 years.
Correct
@@BobLawlesssocial media hasn’t existed (in the mainstream) for that long mate.
I went to Ibiza in 2007. I was lucky enough to experience a Cream Amnesia closing party. If I remember correctly Paul Van Dyke and Ferry Corsten were headlining it. It was amazing. But even in 2007 I felt like Ibiza was past its prime. The golden era seemed to be more around 1995 to 2003.
The golden time was the 80's. The place went downhill when the program Ibiza Uncovered came out. It attracted beer drinkers to the island and not the hippies and free parties that made the island magical. Today its a just rip off and full of people who don't know any better.
I was there at that same time and same club night! And I agree, it felt the magic was gone (from what I heard, not my own previous experiences, I’ve had magical experiences other places in the world tho). There was still some good years after that in Ibiza town and the shift to slightly different genres from what I heard.
I was their in 2005 and was amazing my sister went in 1999-2000 she said it was in its prime then
97 to 2002 definitely it's prime. I was desperate to go but mates just not into it so we did Lanzarote instead and always regretted it.
I was only 6-13 them times. Lol
Great vlog. I went to San Antonio with my work mate for the one and only time in 1993. It was booked on a whim in a travel agent (remember them?) with a redundancy cheque in my hand. Flights only, we stayed in a motel for £2 a night (£1 each) just off West End strip. One sink in our room and shared shower with rest of the motel and we used the party pool by day in the hotel next to us. It was all meant to happen that way and I've cherished the memory ever since. The clubs , the music, the spirituality and the people made it the most incredible, impulsive week of my life and I've never been back for that very reason.
First and only time I visited Ibiza was in '96.
Stayed in San Antonio during the Euros and I had one of the best holidays.
Know that was nearly 30yrs ago and Ibiza was riding high off the club scene and Ibiza Uncovered but the place was packed and the atmosphere was second to none.
Hardly slept, was a two week bender of dance, music and football.
Seeing it look so quiet and different is bittersweet but like anything, change is never far away.
Thanks for posting this, it brought back so many fantastic memories.
Great vlog as always Dwayne! Looking forward to seeing what the new Ku/Privelege will be like. My da is in Menorca if you ever wanted to go there for a quick visit/vlog this winter! Cheer big man!!!! ❤❤❤
Glad i found your vlog. Not been back to Ibiza for a couple of years but can see there is lots changing from your posts. Thanks for doing such a great job
I’ve been to Ibiza maybe 15 times, mostly for the party/ club scene. I’ve been twice in the past 2 years and although it has changed since the 90’s/ 00’s, it’s a beautiful place and I am really looking forward to visiting again in may this year
We were there 6 weeks ago and I hadn’t been since 2013 and noticed huge changes, loads of new buildings everywhere, we were staying in playa d e bossa and walked to Ibiza town one night and the amount of cranes and new building flying up was unreal, HOWEVER it’s still got that magic feeling like nowhere else, still love the place
Hi Dwayne, once again a very nice vlog. The island is changing very quickly, not always in a good way, but the one thing that never changes is the feeling you get when you are there. It always feels like coming home. We hope to see many more videos from you, but we understand that it is (financially) difficult to stay in the winter.
I was there in 98 and 99....in my opinion, probably the pinnacle of Ibiza
Same ❤🇬🇧
Was there in 87,88,89 and 91 when it all started kicking off, good times back then, love to go back again one day, feel a bit old at 55 now though 😂
1988....my first time hitting the golden isle.....10 days....i can remember about 4 of them....when i got back to the uk, i had to have 3 days off work just to recover.
Yes brother. Another authentic banger. Love it 😎🌴
So earlier on this year when I was out in September I noticed it's lost its magic a little.. I've been going out to the white isle for the past 22 year only missed 2 seasons because of covid.
I've experienced some of the best times of my life from meeting Grace Jones & Ronaldo in pacha 20 year ago to having the opportunity of spinning at Carl Cox night at manumission just 7 year ago.. But I have also experienced the worse from having our villa broken into and having valuable and personal documents stolen to being ripped off aswell however it's never once put me off coming back.❤
What has put me off the island now is the heart has been ripped out it with overrated venues expecting ridiculous admission fees then to be robbed silly at the bar.
I've came from the days in ibiza, when it wasn't like that I've got a good freind who help build the mambo brand with Javier before there was a sunset strip and even back then it was all about the nature and the vibe of the island... Unfortunately nowadays it's all about the VIP and it's leaked all over which in my eyes has stole a bit if not alot of the true ibiza spirit of the island 😢
It is all about supply and demand. There is not enough young people coming through in Europe to sustain such markets. The Birth rate in the Germany, Spain and Italy fell of a cliff 25 years ago and now it is starting to show. The German workforce is now dominated by 60 year olds with no replacement generation.
Love watching your videos, love IBIZA and been quite a few times late 90's - 2004 , booked to come back August 2024 with my 2 daughters who are 18 next year. My heart will always be there. Cant wait but not sure wheres best to go now for taking my daughters to get the best time in a week . Cheers 👍🏻
Keep on going! Love your vlogs! Went for the first time in the 70’s when I was just a little girl.. luckily I had the privilege that my parents fel in love with Ibiza… we went there every summer Calla Llonga.. and the prices where the same back then as it still is… Ibiza is special and in my humble opinion it must stay that way.. cherish it 🤍
Very interesting video Dwayne...Everywhere changes, we just have to go with the flow.
love the Ibiza football shirt Dwayne they are doing good this season and another guided tour around paradise thanks mate looking forward to the next one
I haven’t been to the games just like a football shirt, was going to the games in the first year
@@DwayneMuffin would love them to play a Celtic team in a friendly for you in the summer
Lived on the island 8 years , good updates, love to see what’s going on .
evening from the UK Dwayne...
like you say "ibiza is changing" for the better (probably if you got a big bank balance)....went in the early 90's..for 2wks for 15yrs for the closing parties in September.....I'm now 53yrs young...still got the memories...just...🤣
would love to go back to see the changes in the near future...cracking vlog as always love your content...❤❤
Thanks Paul
Great vlog mate.enjoy seeing Ibiza off season.keep it up.
Great video, stayed in cala llonga few years back beautiful place mate
Cheers Jason
Hi Dwayne. I have been going to Ibiza for over 30 years and we have bumped into each other a few times over the years! We have mutual friends also! Keep up the great videos and hopefully bump into you again soon
You’re a legend Dwayne… despite it being the start of winter a good DM vlog always gives me major FOMO. God bless Ibiza 😅❤
Rebuilding and innovating its not a bad thing! I'm from South Portugal, ALGARVE and here we do the same
Love the bay. Nice to see Sa Flama and Es Puerto are still there, spent a lot of lazy afternoons in those places back in the day (20 years ago now). Had some great nights in Eden and Es Paradise but stopped going when the trance scene fell out of favour there. Part of me would love to go back but I cherish the memories I have and would rather remember it how it was.
❤️❤️❤️
Keep the memories mate as it's not the same now.
The clubs are still good but the culture has changed. Dance has now become swaying gently from side to side holding your phone in the air and filming the DJ so you can brag to your friends on social media that you're in Ibiza.
I feel sorry for the youth of today who will never know what it's like to get off your face for 48 hours, lose yourself and have a mad one, they just can't because someone would film them and upload it to the Internet. There's a price to be paid for living life through a lense.
It's still a very special place but it's not Ibiza of the 90s anymore.
Hi dwayne, visited ibiza for the first time in September, and loved it!! Looking at returning early may this year and just wondered what weathers generally like 🙏
I was at El Divino for the final opening and closing parties in 2009 🎉 used to love the hed kandi and defected nights back in the day 🕺Also from memory Penelope’s closed in around 2005ish. Things move on and Ibiza is no exception, let’s just hope all the people gambling big money get it right and strike a balance to not over develop this beautiful part of the world 🤞 thanks Dwayne always appreciate and look forward to these winter vlogs ❤
Haha… that was the time of those T-shirts. Ibiza fucking island 😅
Yep we were there in those days. Fun times.
2009 was my first year there! Oh to be 18 again…
I was their in 2005 and loved going to el divino hed kandi
Been to Ibiza 4 times, 1st was 1999 & was lucky enough to be in Cream, Amnesia when Kevin & Perry was being filmed. Last went in 2009 & could see the change to the Las Vegas style of beach/pool clubs & VIP heavy venues with the addition of Ushuaia & places like free entry Bora Bora being phased out. Then Space went & turned into Hi! Now I see in this vid that Privilege is under the same ownership as those clubs, I dread to think what they will do to one of the original Ibiza clubs. Having said that, since the heyday of Manumission, filling Privilege has been a problem for years, so maybe it’s time for a change. Thank god DC-10 is still there & hasn’t given up its underground style & as expensive as Pacha is, it’s still got that charm & roof terrace. Maybe I’m out of touch & there are still places to go, but there will never be another Space terrace. Having said all that, I’m desperate to go back, even now I’m in my mid 40s.
Hi Dwayne. New subscriber here. Currently spending the week in Santa Eularia. Think I picked a good week to be on the island. Agree lots of expensive apartment buildings going up everywhere.
Ibiza seems interesting at this time of year with some places dead and others still having some life.
I did carpentry work in Donnegans in 2000, fitting it out with salvaged interiors from old churches from Neath is South Wales where i live, it was owned by the owners of Mambo back then, I've noticed that the road outside has become a one way system since then, perhaps that killed trade or it's not classed as upmarket enough to charge the high prices that they have in their other locations. Shame to see it closed, really enjoy your vlogs.👍
Still owned by Mambo unless they’ve gave it up now which I’d imagine they have
Everywhere in Europe is seeing the market place evolve. We are now seeing the results of birth rate declines. Only France, UK and the Nordic countries have stable populations everywhere else has seen massive declines.
Amazing as always Dwayne!!!
Went in 96 , best thing seeing Mr C play live at an open air dance . Superb
Loved Amante parties, the opening coincided with my birthday - got a funny story about the steps behind you - good times! 😊❤️
Been there this year, the hotel price were almost doubled compared to last year, tickets, drinks also skyrocketed. There are soo many commercial parties, but that’s what most of the people need, thank god there are some hidden gems like Shine, Pyramid etc. Happy for the Privilige tho. We’d like to definitely revisit the island for Resistance if it reopens. Akasha became my favourite club this year, you should visit it for a nice progressive house event if you are interested… Such an amazing vibe there! Love your content, just keep them coming! Cheers bro! 😉
Ah i might go up one day in the winter but I’ve got no appetite for clubs at the moment
Always great memories of Ibiza .. great content, thanks
Thanks
I went in August 1992 and stayed in the Jet Apartments in Playa Den Bosa. Space opened at 6.00am in those days and had a very eclectic crowd. The queue was like an Andy Warhol movie. Amnesia was an open air club with proper foam parties. Everything was relatively cheap. The beach bars outside the hotel were epic in the late afternoons and early evenings. Long before day clubs.
Thanks for your blogs. Seeing the island during the off season gives a great perspective of the real island. Can’t wait to go back next year.
Thanks a lot appreciate it
Will be great to see privilege open but Ushuaia and Hi will only mean an extortionate price and an over sold venue.
Il divino was great, can’t remember boom, but Miss Moneypennys was a great night, I can’t remember what club that was in though (90’s)
Went to Project social on your recommendation, nice place. Good food, good price.
It worries me that the Island will become too expensive for the majority and will lose its magic.
I’ll be back next year though, again, will give u a shout.
Great vlog as always mate
Thanks for your feedback ❤️
Hey Dwayne awesome vlog ,stopped at the Hawaii this year,,yes it's adults only, they ve change furnishings, we had best room overlooking o beach,,
Keep up the great work, hopefully get to meet you,2nd attempt,
Stay safe ,have a good evening,
Cheers pal!
we've had some fantastic family holidays in Ibiza - the Tanit was always a favourite and we stayed in the Palmyra before it went adults only along with the Bellamar in the Bay. All lovely. Our first holiday was in Cala Llonga - can't remember the name of the hotel. We always had a wonderful 2 weeks there every summer. Unfortunately my health has deteriorated to the point that such holidays are a thing of the past and I've not been back since 2013 (though my family were there in 2015 while I was in hospital - the buggers!!)
First time I've seen you - new sub gained!
Welcome! 400 odd videos I hope you enjoy
good vlog dwayne, nice to see all these places at this time of the year and all the development that`s going on. really got good mood out of this vlog, keep it real as allways🤜🤛thanks!
Cheers Jill
Fab video again Dwayne and pleased to see you made it to Cala Llonga!- We're back there at Easter and it'd be a pleasure to see you there when all has reopened
Let’s see how things pan out
Thank you for the videos! Take me back, away from a dreary Scotland
Cheers
Cheers Dwayne great vlog was over twice this year prices have definitely gone up wish the season was made longer it’s very addictive roll on summer 24 👍
True that
Thanks mate… another enjoyable vid…. 👍
Holiday Ibiza pre-covid 2019 and decided to came back for 2023 summer and couldn't believe how expensive it has got, defiantly wont be back in a hurry as the world is a big place and loads of other places to visit.
Great work, very informative. Thank you.
🎉Ibiza will always be open in my heart 🎉
❤🙏 Love from Scotland 🙏❤️
Cheers pal
Always so peaceful in winter, aside from the construction, its going to become a playground for the very rich over the next few years.
Nice to see you out and about, its not stopped raining here for weeks, I'm not jealous, no not me.... 🤢
Can’t remember the last time I seen Rain here, was raining Monday in Madrid when I was over
@@DwayneMuffin i remember my years in Andalusia, rained like clockwork 1st week of April then 2nd week of September, just months of endless sun in between, good for you mate, you do not want to be anywhere near the UK or Eire, and not just for the shitty weather!! Great life choice you made.
@@thetruthbetold-wu9pu just wait, loser.
I had my honeymoon in Ibiza and stayed in a 5star hotel on the outskirts of San Antonio and it was the best holiday I've ever had! I don't remember seeing a single crane but this was back in 2001 and I will always remember sitting in cafe del mar and a couple sat down at our table and we started chatting to them and they looked familiar to me and I thought that they were probably guests where we were staying and loads of beautiful women dressed up as judges with skimpy outfits and began dancing to the music and handing out flyers for a club promoting a new weekly night at Eden called judgement Sunday and I said to the couple that we were thinking of going and I asked them if they were going and they laughed and said that they had to go or else the night will be cancelled!! Being confused I asked them why and they said that they had organised and paid for everything and that's when the man introduced himself and his wife and I felt so stupid that I hadn't recognised them and no wonder they looked familiar as it was only judge Jules and his wife was riding high in the charts with castles in the sky!! We got free VIP tickets and got to stand next to him as he played his set!! it's something I will never forget!! Sorry for going on and on.... just a special story of being in the right place at the right time!!🤪🎶😉🎵😲🤣❤️💪👌👍
Awesome!
Usually over twice a year down at the white island hotel near tanit etc in playa den bossa... see they still havnt finished the new shopping centre near ushuaia when we were over mid oct.... hotels getting expensive but so are the flights 😢
It looks like it’s nearly done
Really enjoyed that vlog man and interesting to see what’s going on. Haven’t been in years but used to go every year to Ibiza and it’s constantly been evolving.. it has to I suppose. Great to hear what’s happening to Privilege and funny I was wondering what happened El Divino. It looks an amazing place for a chilled holiday this time of year. 👌🏼🙏🏼🌅🌅🌅☀️
Yeah it’s a great place this time of year if you’re not looking for madness
Great vlog Dwayne I got a bit of memorabilia from Privilege when I went for a wander round. Is Melbourne the old social bar I didn't realise they had located there. I enjoyed Cala Longa this year when spent a day there hadn't been since 2007 .Love Project Social in Santa Eulalia have a good winter hope you keep on vlogging out in early May for my 60th staying in San Antonio Golden Buddha end I think not stayed that end of town yet . Yes Ibiza's changing I don't like all of them but still a fantastic Island and as for the expense you can still eat and drink for reasonable prices if you shop around good quality as well take care
I went to Melbourne coffee so much in May, best coffee I've had in Ibiza...
Loves this thankyou dwayne . X
Don’t normally watch things like this but really enjoyed watching this.
wow the hotel that is getting demolished opposite Obeach was the one me & my friends stayed at between Sep 27th and Oct 4th this year. We had to change hotels for our final two nights as they were 'closing for the season' didn't realise it was getting knocked down! 180 euros for the week stay and we were some of the only people there haha
Haven't been to Ibiza since 2014, used to stay in the Jet Apartments for 2 weeks every year. Nice to get a walk around from another Irish lad and get the auld nostalgia going! Fuck me I'd love to get back for a week or two but I'd have to do some serious saving for it. Next year, maybe, as I've said for the past 5 or so years lol
I’ve been to ibiza in 98,99,22,23. I remember in the 90’s when it cost $10 US dollars for a red bull vodka or beer. That was a lot of money back then. Everyone was on ecstasy drinking water except for me I swear. 😂. Lately Ive found ways to keep it affordable and enjoy the island. It’s definitely cheaper than going to a club in Las Vegas. I like most of the changes, but wish the clubs weren’t so crowded on certain nights.
Agree..I was there in 98 and I paid the price in space for a vodka red bull and that was 25 years ago lol
Yeah, that’s a lot back then, beers in most clubs are still 12 euro to be fair meb slightly higher in Hi and Ushuaia
Thank you for another great vlog. Glad you enjoyed Calma its are go to place when we visit in the winter months as well as Cappachino just for that views alone. When you are in Marina Botafoc next try Barlovento, its under new ownership now and is much better, food is good and not expensive. Good to see Talamanca beach as well, I always feel this is the forgotten beach in Ibiza and I hope it stays that way, we have a place near Hotel Simbad and it never gets too busy at that end even in the height of the summer months. Howver its a disgrage they have used the space in front of and to the side of the Nobu hotel for the dead posidonia to pile up, 10 years ago this was a nice sandy beach int front of the the Playa Real Hotel (now Nobu) , think its ironic they have allowed it to pile up in front of a 5 star hotel. Hehe
Great vlog pal. Keep it simple and keep those of us living in our tracksuits inspired by the island! Cala llonga is great....
I’ll try
Coming in January, June and September in 2024. Have only missed one year since 2000 and that was 2020 for obvious reasons. I still think, although prices have gone up (haven’t they everywhere?) that Ibiza is as cheap or expensive as you want it to be. Personally, we don’t go to bars or restaurants that charge silly prices. For instance, we paid €17 in a tapas bar in Santa Eulalia in September for six beers, and a large sangria with three rounds of tapas thrown in. It was packed with locals. Our sort of place.
Yeah there’s still plenty of affordable places just need to know where you’re going
Mate a hope it not the end for u have been following u for a bit ur clips are class the club ones are amazing but the tours off the island places to eat lots ov great stuff bud ❤🎉🎉🎉👍🏴👍
Not sure if something picks up I’ll stay but bored
Dwayne, thanks again for taking personal time to create these great grounded vlogs - they are truly superb and relatable to those who have been visiting the island for years.
First time I ever went to Ibiza was back in 1998 and been going back ever since each year up until 2017 (Life etc...but will hopefully resume my annual visits next year) I understand that development and changing times are natural progress and forward thinking and creates employment, but it is crazy to think how quickly the island has changed and grown in that time.
My first destination on the island back in 97 was San Antonio (me thinking that this 'was' ibiza!) but just through getting to know the other parts of the island and coming into a more mature age and wanting different things from my vacations, I started staying in other parts of the island surrounding ibiza old town. (I also remember El Divino and getting a small boat across from the port and there being the club host a tall black drag queen always on board). Can't believe the Curry Club has gone too!. Probably like most of the hotels I stayed in back in the 90's.
Has for the cost of things on the island. In the early years of visiting ibiza, I remember meeting people and them saying how expensive it was compared to their own country, but being from London I never originally saw this huge difference in costs....to what I come to see years later on my annual visits. So yes the costs have now even exceeded London easily!.
Back in the day, (late 90s/early 00's )Marina Botafoch was mostly deserted at night and full of boat repair yards etc. I stayed at an old friends penthouse back in 2011/12 which is next to the casino and how it had changed. In 2010 I remember looking at Amante's for a wedding venue, but ended marrying at Hacienda Na Xamena Ibiza.
Personally, I think with all the prime locations and beaches being taken up by the so-called money grabbing 'Beach Clubs' (which are really just 'bird cages' for those who individuals whose confidence sits in their wallets and nowhere else...and need to be seen 'Peacocking' 24/7) is a big mistake if an Island wants to keep its originality and individualism etc, and not be
When I was last in Ibiza, I travelled down to San Antonio (just to to see it and the sunset and memories etc) and could not believe the change. Boardwalks/Footpaths all down the beach line, the old bus area in the port was gone and replaced by a well awaited purpose built station etc. Ibiza will always be one of my most favourite destinations...I just hope through all the development that it doesn't lose it's 'magical' cool vibe and become over exposed to the wrong crowd has other vacation places have, and since lost there magic and originality like some other past destinations have due to this.
La Viva Eivissa!
Been twice this year, yes it is getting expensive but there are great cheap places in San An Bay and I love the vibe. Back in April and maybe September too. So many happy memories of times in Ibiza and I wish I has some memories of the events I've been photo'd in while in Ibiza too! Kevin and Perry Experience was simply the dogs, but I had to fly back that morning, so no sleep that day! lol. By the way, I can completely recommend the guide, it's well worth it!
K&P was dope af, hopefully there is another one in '24
Cheers im working on a new one
@@DwayneMuffin Count me in for that as lots of other people would be I'm sure.
They are restricting development of the green spaces and planning permission is very difficult to get..so prices of houses and rent are sky high. Still a lovely place to visit for a week or two...Great beaches, food and vibes 🥰
cala llonga beach is just something else, top content !
Yeah was moving fast
Great vlog Dwayne, can you give any tips on solo travelling for a non driver, I am going in April (been going to Ibiza for 40 years) and staying around Port de Torrent fod a restful week. I hate the way the beaches have changed with beach clubs encroaching for the ‘beautiful people’ and the ordinary hard working all year round people who want to relax, sunbathe and appreciate their one holiday of the year on this beautiful island are being forced away due to overpricing and now it seems over populating with holiday makers. The road to Port de Torrent was barren with places being closed since Covid when we went last year but more and more apartments and hotels are being built so surely putting a strain on the restaurants and bars left?
Great to see la tikki appts at the end. We made our 3 year old there 😂. Everytime i leave i check out property prices, idyllic property was 1-250k late 90s, now like 8 mill. 😮.
It goes to show that when you get inspired to do a video which covers things that only locals can really do, it can have great results
Even the past two years has changed massively.
Brilliant video mate..I didn't realise you were still on UA-cam doing your thing. You are definitely doing the right thing pushing on with your vlogs who knows where it might lead.I hope your great work starts paying off..I am coming to Ibiza next year with the missus for what I consider my final fling 😳 Getting on a bit now .😂 I will definitely get in touch see if you can get an earner or 2 when were out there..Keep it flowing mate..Much appreciated 👌
Really enjoyed this one
Cheers
Another great vlog, I love the ones where they're just a bit of everything. I come to Ibiza at least twice a year but would love to experience the chilled winters 😍 Have you thought about just doing daily life vlogs? I love the club and hotel/restaurant vlogs but I would definitely watch daily life vlogs and enjoy them just as much as your other ones and I'm sure many others would too xx
Yes, that’s the goal!
Me too.
Ibiza is slowly becoming the Dubai of the Mediterranean. I just hope they don't away with naturism.@@DwayneMuffin

Hi Dwayne, love the vlogs, please keep them coming! I first went to Ibiza in 1982 (yes I am that old) and absolutely love the island and was there again this year staying at the Aguas de Ibiza Hotel in Santa Eulalia. We took in a visit to Pasha this year (yes we still occasionally go clubbing) and I first went there sometime in the late 80’s but can’t exactly remember when! It was a bit packed though this year, so we were on the balcony as the dance floor was so rammed! I also remember going to Ku (which became Privilege) back in the late 80’s and 90’s. I’d go again if/when the venue re-opens in 2025 😊. We’ll no doubt be back in 2024, just exploring potential hotel options… Maybe we’ll see you around.
Great video. Greetings from Argentina
Well put together vlog and pretty insightful too! Can I ask what camera you use to record? Subbed.
I phone 13 / Go Pro
I phone for Zoom and various short cuts, go pro for talking and car shots
Thanks a lot man! Keep up the good work!@@DwayneMuffin
Yeah Dwayne it’s so much more expensive. We’ve
Going for almost 20 years and the prices for some of the hotels are just crazy. But we’ll still visit maybe just a couple of times instead of four lol. But keep up the vlogs loving them still
Thanks appreciate it
With the focus on “cleaning up” parts of the island and San Antonio in particular, you’d have thought it would encourage/promote family tourism. But the new and refurbished hotels, establishments and prices feel even less catered to families. They should really focus on making the bay a family friendly resort, otherwise they’ll lose that clientele completely.
Great vlog. We’ve been going to Ibiza for 30 years and owned a villa since 2012. Things have changed dramatically over that period but definitely speeded up since 2012.
Our place is in cap martinet and there’s at least 10 new villas in the process of being built in the area. Maybe you know what’s happening with the old water park as something definitely happening there.
Finally we are back on the island to celebrate the new year - and recommendations for restaurants on New Year’s Eve around the Marina Botafoch area ?
Completely agree. I first got a taste for Ibiza in 1997. It has become too commercial and drowning in 'so-called' VIP / Beach Clubs where people want to 'Peacock' and show off their feathers.
I remember Mambos and sitting on the rocks in the early hours listening to chill-out tracks before it became what it is today...and the old roads, way before the motorways crossing the island today (which is a good thing). But unfortunately, with this kind of rapid growth and money at the forefront of the local governments agenda, that magic and vibe will unfortunately be drowned out.
Blimey, Santa Eulalia has changed beyond all recognition since I stayed there over 55 years ago. Then it was a sleepy little village with one or two hotels with a single main dusty road going through the centre of it.
Always good to see some nice footage of the island, especially when sunny as it's grey and raining since two weeks here in Luxembourg. Cala Llonga is our starting point on the island when we arrive by car with the ferry at 7.a.m on Saturdays 😂. We always take our lunch at Regina Restaurant, the one your where pointing out, nice food, nice sangria cava and average prices.
Good news about Privilege. A great business venture there. Imagine stepping back into that place again? 👍
Love the empty beaches, maybe sounds strange, but I like the serenity.
Yeah I get that
Was bar Duna open this season, it was shut for a while
My mate bought a one bed apartment in cala llonga back in the mid 90’s……30k…….had it valued last year 385k everything is crazy expensive over there 🙈🙈
Yeah easy that madness🤣🤣
You snooze you lose. I pity for those who did not buy property in California back in the 80’s and 90’s those 50 plus year old homes are selling for north of 1 million
When you was walking the dogs was this near the Galfie Hotel?
Went this summer past, stayed in OKU and generally around that end of SA things were clean and tidy but found central SA to be quite untidy, lots of graffiti and tons of poorly finished or unfinished buildings and infrastructure (that clearly hadn't been under construction for a long time). Ibiza town and dalt vila was beautiful in comparison. Im sure other towns and villages are nice but my impression was that SA specifically seemed to be compromising the things that give ibiza (or any mediteranian location) charm in their race for commercialization.
I came 3 consecutive years 05,06,07 (absolutely loved it) and came again recently in June 23 (You may remember me). Yes it is getting more expensive, but thats kind of everywhere. I was disappointed with the "super clubs". Now with the DJ being the focal point I feel the energy of the clubs have changed e.g. Pacha 1/2 the dance floor is taken up by the DJ booth/entourage. Not to mention packing you in like sardines making it feel more like a mosh pit at a Metallica concert. However for me the day/beach clubs were the best. We went to the ones you mentioned in your guide book and they were the highlights. We also treated ourselves to fine dining at La Gaia. Not something I would usually do, but hey when in Rome! ;) When I come again I might go to 1 big club and hit you up for table/tix, then stick to beach bars! Great stuff btw.
Thanks appreciate the feedback
DJs need to come off stages. It’s so fucking naff.
I first visited Ibiza (Playa Den Bossa) in 1976, yes i'm a dinosaur but back then it was a paradise! there was only 3 or 4 hotels, a few restaurants and bars but no clubs that I can remember. Most importantly it was incredibly cheap. Back then the currency was pesetas and 100 Pesetas (less than £1) would pay for a whole night out!
Wow I’d love to have experienced that
@geoffashden2 Back then Ibiza was all about the spiritual experience.
I’m not sure people go there now for that same magical trip.
Nice vid Dwayne our favourite is Calma and talamanca 👍
Nice
I've lived in Spain for a while now, from the UK originally but never been tempted by Ibiza as the type of music played is not my cuppa t. Is it worth visiting if you're into soul, jazz funk with a bit of bruk and West London thrown in? Any clubs there play music other than what you get in the enormous clubs? And do you like living there or is it just like a party scene all the time? Thanks in advance and good job on the video.
Nice update
Keep them vlogs coming pal , Ibiza is evolving and changes are inevitable for the island to grow but with changes comes higher prices which could ruin the Ibiza experience as it was , I guess there are positives and negatives to the changes that we will just have to live with , next year will be by 17th year visiting the island since my first visit way back in the early 90s when Ibiza was a very different place
Nice one I’ll keep them rolling x
I heard rumours from locals this season that Privilege will be turned into a concert venue rather than a super club. Not sure if it's true but will be very sad to see if that happens.
Halo Dwayne,
Once again a cool video ...
Can you please tell me the name of the cafe / restaurant opposite Ibiza Town where you only paid 3€ for the cafe? In your video it is at 5:32 min - 5:34/5:35 min... Stay healthy, Marc
Calma ? I mentioned it and the logo is in the video, can’t click just out at the moment but I guess it’s Calma
@@DwayneMuffin Hi Dwayne 😀 That was exactly the cafe I was looking for, thanks for your reply. Maybe my TV was too small that I didn't see the name of the cafe *laughs* After we (my wife & I) saw your videos, we were in Ibiza for the 1st time at the end of October, in Santa Eularia des Riu and at the closing party in Cafe Mambo 😉 We weren't on Ibiza for the last time...Best from Düsseldorf, Marc
We have an apartment in Cala llonga, think we have to embrace change, personally l think its a good thing.
