I’ve recently had a lot of success in my local “snot pond” using a square bill crank bait that goes about 1-3 feet deep. I pull it in front of and around the snot and it seems to draw them out, all while being able to push through the snot and not get hung up or collect too much

I fish ponds like this all the time. It’s a pain. I’ve had success with a texas rigged senko. It will still get some gunk on it, but it’s manageable. Like he said, the only thing you can throw and not have any trouble is a frog.
